Southern Counties 22 Judge

BEDLINGTON SOUTHERN COUNTIES 22 Judge: Dr H Jones OBE I should like to thank the committee of the Southern Counties Canine Association for the invitation to judge this show. I should particularly like to thank my two very helpful stewards. I found no cracked pads but several exhibits could improve their dental hygiene. 1 Miteymidgets Modern Love. Still only six months old but has all the makings of a real winner. Quite mature for age. He is a lean and lathy blue dog with correct length of back. Has a long head with good teeth. Has good pigment and correct texture of coat. Movement quite impressive for his age. RBPIB 1 Miteymidgets New Vision. A quality dog with a correct topline both standing and moving. Well developed muscle producing confident movement both coming and going. He has a well pigmented blue coat and texture spot on. Strongly made with correct angulation at front and back. All Bedlington peculiarities exactly as they should be. 2 Dunkswell Teal Pudsey. A different type of dog but still very impressive. Good balance but not quite the movement of 1. He has a pleasing head with dark eye and coat of good texture. He is well muscled a I hope the degree of pigmentation will improve with time. 1 Dunkswell Teal Pudsey. 2 Kinnuva Summer Pearl. Not quite the topline of 1t. He has a typical Bedlington head, correct ears and strong teeth. Well-developed muscle but movement, occasionally a little unsteady, but I am sure that on another day with this amount of muscle, the movement will improve. 1 Ozbreeze Surprise of the Day at Vakurblue. Lovely outline that made him stand out. Not the amount of pigment of coat that I would have liked but still an obvious blue dog this was more than made up for by his excellent topline, overall balance was excellent and correct length of body. Well developed muscle producing good movement with reach and drive. Tailset spot on which completed the picture. Head of good length and well rounded with strong teeth. 2 Woolytop the Pipers Son. A blue dog of ideal size and balance. Correct coat for both pigment and texture. Showed in commendable hard condition so no surprise that he moved well both coming and going. Held his topline well on the move with perfect tail carriage. Another well constructed head with good denture which is so important in a working terrier. 3 Bedlishes Valiant Knight at Devleigh. A very strong class with many superia specimens and on another day, the order in which they were placed could change. 1 Ch. Tcheria Tcharlston. A worthy example of the breed and I am not surprised that he has won so many top honours. The impression is of a well proportioned blue dog, exemplary topline with the high point exactly where it should be and no exaggerations. A pleasing strong head complimented with excellent teeth and dark, almond shaped eyes. Ideal tailset and carriage. His movement would win any class, not only with reach and drive but set off around the ring at a brisk pace the demonstrated his movement to perfection. There is nothing worse than to see a lethargic dog that has to be pulled around the ring. The hands confirmed that eye had not been deceived with well developed muscle, perfect mouth with jacket of good pigment and texture. DCC and BOB. 2 Bluesmurf Boogie Woogie. A fine dog nearing his peak. Stood out as being of the correct size and everything in proportion. Head, topline and tailset just as they should be. Pleasing blue jacket, firm muscle and correct angulation both at the front and back produced the movement I would expect. Deep, flat ribs with tuck up matching his high point. RDCC. 3 Ch. Woolytop the Viking. This class showed that Bedlingtons last for a long time in good condition. 1st. Ch. Miteymidgets Going Global. A very difficult choice between these two dogs. Of ideal size, correct outline and dark blue coat just as it should be and movement excellent in both directions. Strong feminine head with excellent teeth and showed in hard condition. BVIB 2 Ch. Yarbach Federers Final. This dog could still compete for top awards. Still in excellent condition, is of a good size and has a perfect outline. Correct blue, linty Bedlington coat. Pleasing head with strong teeth. Well muscled and moved with purpose which shows he can still give a good account of himself. 3 Tobanie Earth Song. 1 Ch. Woolytop the Viking. Classy dog with long head, dark eye and fine ears. Good length of body, light springy movement and held his topline on the move. Deep chest and good angulations. 2 Kinnuva Summer Pearl. 3 Kinnuva Hawaiian Velvet. 1 Conekesheved Too Shy. Mature young lady possessing a long head, well rounded occiput and dark eye. Good length of body and rich dark blue coat. Has well developed muscle producing light springy movement with plenty of reach and drive. BPIB. 2 Sarmarblue Shadow Follow Me. More of a baby than 1st. but getting there. Feminine head with pleasing dark eye. Good length of body with correct topline. Well pigmented blue coat. Moved well but as yet not the power of movement of 1. 3 Rhicullen Rebel Heart. 1 Honeymist Pinky Promise at Chaselyne. Mature liver bitch. Has a long feminine head and slim neck. Of correct size, good length of body and deep chest. Good shoulder placement with correct angulation, front and back. Moved well with light springy movement. 2 Devleigh Dirty Dancing. Well made blue bitch, slightly smaller than 1 but well within breed standard. Impressed with a well pigmented coat of good texture. Pleasing long head. Deep chest, good tuck up which matches the high point of the topline. Body of pleasing proportions and moved in a positive way, using the ring well. Certainly, another one to watch in the future. 3 Bowlingbrook Tumbleyweed. PGB (8,1) 1st. Woolytop Secret Whisper among Wallaroo. Pleasing head with dark eye and fine ears. Correct overall size with length of body spot on. Thick linty jacket combined to produce a good overall outline. Well developed muscle resulting in positive movement. 2 Toolbox Yes Why Not at Squidlyannes. Well put together youngster with no hint of weakness or exaggeration. Well pigmented blue jacket, deep in the chest and good topline held on the move. Good overall balance and positive movement. 3 Red Hot Chilli of Lovely Star Generation at Silverkinn. 1 Miteymidgets Little Hottie. Caught the eye as soon as she entered the ring. Long head with strong teeth and dark eye. Ideal for size, length of body and gently curving topline with high point exactly where it should be. Outstanding blue jacket and shown in hard condition. One of the best movers of the day with a light springy yet positive movement. To me, she was exactly what a Bedlington should be with no exaggerations but with a flowing topline and good tail carriage. BCC. 2 Maevani Bella Trix Lstrange. Correct for size but not quite the topline of 1. Feminine head of good length, slim neck and deep in the chest. She is of correct size and possesses hard muscle. Not surprised that she exhibited correct movement. 3 Devleigh Wild Child. 1 Ch. Janmark Just Do It. A worthy champion, unlucky to meet the Limit winner in such good form. Good for size with a long head, strong teeth, dark eye and fine ears. Perfectly balanced with rich blue jacket. Good length of body, correct tailset to complete an excellent topline. Well angulated at back and front with no hint of exaggeration. Well developed muscle which contributed to excellent movement. RBCC. 2nd. Miteymidgets Love in Bloom. This lady proves that she can still do it at seven years of age. Perfectly balanced with body length and height all in proportion. Another with a striking blue jacket of correct texture. Long, pleasing head with strong teeth. Good muscle with movement spot on as a result of correct construction of front and back legs. 3. Woolytop Leading Lady. |
