BEDLINGTON JUDGE SOUTHERN COUNTIES 16

Bedlington Terriers

I very much enjoyed judging the Bedlingtons today, some of my decisions were very close but as usual were accepted sportingly by the exhibitors. With regard to breed watch concern I did not find any evidence of corny or cracked pads. Many thanks to my attentive stewards who kept the ring running like clockwork.

PD (2)

1 Bannister’s Miteymidgets English Dream, 8 months well coated youngster, good proportions in head & neck, pleasing eye, ear, mouth, had the edge over 2 in hind movement;

2 McNally’s Conekesheved Ironstone Boy, just a little older than 1 at 11 months, but not quite so mature, size & body proportions good, movement hopefully will settle as he matures.

JD (0).

PGD (1)

1 Offer’s Woolytop Theodore, mature & well developed body construction at almost 2 years, good head supported by correct neck, balanced angulation at both ends, moved quite steadily.

LD (6)

1 Butler’s Yarbach Federer’s Final, liked this blue dog for general balance in construction & size, pleasing typical head, neck, eye, & ear, better muscled in lower thigh than most, moved well;

2 Baldwin’s Woolytop The One And Only, still quite young with something to do yet, but well headed, moving on good legs & feet, well angulated;

3 Fletcher & Lawson’s Maevani One And Only.

OD (3)

1 Pedersen’s Sharnor High Intensity, what an interesting class, I liked the winner’s proportions & general typical balance & profile, nothing exaggerated here, pleasing in both hind & fore angulation, shown in good jacket well presented, alert to all around him whilst moving round the ring but not distracted from the job in hand, I was pleased to award what I discovered later was his first CC;

2 Kiernan’s Ch Sharnor High I’m Viktor at Kierlander, a dog I have met & greatly admired in the ring on previous occasions, a very attractive, typical, sound Bedlington in every way but, unfortunately, today he was not putting in that extra sparkle & style which is so necessary to take the top spot. RCC;

3 McCourt’s Burmington Hush A Bye.

V (4)

1 Jones’ Ch Pengerrig Iron Duke, shown in excellent condition, looking good for his 10 years, typical & balanced, presented in good jacket, scored over 2 in quality of lower thigh muscle, moved very well; 2 Baldwin’s Woolytop Iwan Super Wizard, another typical dog, carrying his 11 years with ease, well headed, good body construction, liked both these dogs, close decision; 3 Yearley’s Ch Gnejnabay Gene Genie Gal at Lowbrook. GC (2,1a) 1 Hewitt-Taylor’s Tobanie Earth Song, smaller type but balanced & well constructed, typical in head, eye & ears, moved steadily.

PB (2) 1 Bannister’s Miteymidgets This Is Me, a very pleasing 8 month old shown in good jacket, balanced, well angulated, not overdone in any aspect, moved well to take BP;

2 McNally’s Conekesheved Kaldo Girl, 11 months & more mature than winner, good for size, head properties appealed, not quite the overall balance & finish of 1, but time is on her side.

JB (2)

1 Hurley’s Fralex Culibre Seymour, most eyecatching liver youngster, lovely head proportions & expression, well made all through, presented in excellent jacket, moved & showed to perfection, considered her very strongly for higher award today, I would like to see her again when fully mature, must surely be one for the future;

2 Mayers’ Tcheria She’s Tcheeky, another pleasing bitch well handled today by a very capable youngster, shown in good jacket, well put together in body, just needs a little more time to finish.

PGB (2)

1 Bannister’s Miteymidgets All My Love, well constructed & balanced in body, good head proportions, looked well on the move, with good free hind action driving her along with some style;

2 Gillies’ Rhicullen Joy Of Patchwork, very similar in general construction to winner, but did not display the same freedom of hind movement as 1.

LB (7)

1 Mayers’ Miteymidgets Universal at Tcheria, well made & with good bone & balanced blue bitch, correctly proportioned in head, good neck, made a very pleasing typical outline on the move;

2 Bannister’s Miteymidget’s Love In Bloom, I also liked this bitch, pleasing to go over but not going as well as winner, needs to steady in movement;

3 Gillies’ Rhicullen Highland Lassie.

OB (4)

1 Bannister’s Ch Miteymidgets Going Global, blue bitch of good size, pleasing all through with everything therein correct proportion, well presented in excellent jacket, moved correctly with purpose, grace & style. CC & BOB;

2 Hurley’s L’End Show Melissa Blu Flower at Fralex, close up to winner, just preferred hindquarters of 1, two very good examples of Bedlington bitches. RCC;

3 Walshaw’s Ch Janmark Jkay.
