BEDLINGTON SOUTHERN COUNTIES 09 Judge(s) MRS EILEEN NEEDHAM DCC CH PENGERRIG IRON DUKE SHCM (MRS & DR H JONES OBE) Bedlington Terriers I was truly delighted with the entry for my first CC appointment in Bedlingtons, both numerically & in the depth of quality – I felt honoured. I enjoyed judging this lovely breed & tried hard to place dogs which were not only both well constructed & typical, but which were correct in its more unique features. PD (2) 1 Hyde’s Gnejnabay Chokko Pops, 10 months liver, balanced & well developed for age, pleasing head proportions, good neck length, well angulated, moved well keeping correct topline; 2 Palmer & Roberts’ Jetsway Captain Morgan, slightly younger at 9 months & less mature generally, quite pleasing head at this stage. Needs to strengthen yet in front. JD (2) 1 Davies’ Bla Skuggans Jack In The Box at Honeymist, attractive, mature & well balanced, good front, well angulated shoulder & quarters, moved & showed well; 2 Logan’s Mollora Innovation, less mature than 1 & not quite so sure of himself which may have been due to the inside ring. Quite pleasing head. Overall felt he could do with a tad more length in body. PGD (4) Close decision between 1 & 2. 1 Baldwin’s Woolytop Another Star, well made & balanced, moving soundly; 2 Cumming’s Honeymist Blue Flame at Rocabec, lost out on maturity to 1, just needs a little more time but good for size. Balanced in general, moved out well; 3 Harris’ Ratzwell Independence. LD (7) Close decision. 1 Caines’ Burmington And Me Too, well balanced head, strong jaw, good type & generally well constructed, mature body, deep brisket, moved well keeping correct topline; 2 Owen’s Bisbee Blue Max, liked his head, eye & ears, well made with good depth in brisket. Not quite as positive as 1 on the move. Overall a most pleasing dog; 3 Walshaw’s Janmark Blue Encounter. OD (7) Class of seven high quality dogs which was an absolute pleasure to judge, I was splitting hairs all through. 1 Jones’ Ch Pengerrig Iron Duke, really took my eye, I just loved him with his correct size & general conformation to the Standard, very pleasing head proportions, well constructed throughout the body with matching angulation, nothing exaggerated about him at all, full of type combined with confidence & style in movement & showmanship. CC & BOB; 2 Walshaw’s Janmark Alannora, slightly bigger than 1 but sharing many of his qualities, pleasing throughout, well angulated without exaggeration, good head, moving well, RCC; 3 Davies’ Ch Honeymist Miles High. V (3,1a) 1 Bannister’s Ch Moltyke Taggles with Miteymidgets, sound dog for 9 years, well muscled & in fit condition, moving with some verve; 2 Baldwin’s Woolytop Lady Luck, beginning to show her age a touch, but in good nick generally, moving well. PB (5) 1 Yearley’s Gnejnabay Genegenie Gal at Lowbrook, what an attractive little charmer this is, generally pleasing & balanced, 10 months liver, so mature & composed for her age, lovely head, angulations correct, moved effortlessly keeping topline. BP & RCC; 2 Hurley’s Fralex Culibre Truffles, at just 6 months very much a baby, well constructed, pleasing head. Needs to mature but the essentials are all there. Happy personality & moving quite well; 3 Davies’ Honeymist Crazy Rhythm. JB (8,1) 1 G Genegenie Gal at L; 2 Bannister’s Miteymidgets Hawkers Cove, I wished I had had two first prize cards, well made shoulder & front, well balanced all through & in good nick generally, moving well, a lot to like; 3 Hewitt-Taylor’s Mollora Archangelica for Tobanie. PGB (6) 1 Rainsbury’s Sevray Repique, very nice blue, generally pleasing with sound construction & balance, correct head proportions, good front, good bone, well angulated, moved with some style; 2 Lacey’s Bowling Brook My Blue Heaven, rather bigger than 1. Pleasing head & front construction, correct topline, moved quite well; 3 Evans’ Kardomas Dainty Bess. LB (6) 1 Wharton-Smith’s Miteymidgets Shooting Star, a lot to like here with sound construction generally, quite nice head & good length of neck, well angulated, going well; 2 Bannister’s Miteymidgets Tetrarch, very similar to 1 in most aspects but lost out a touch in front; 3 Owen’s Bisbee Bobby Dazzler. OB (6,1) The first three were very close. 1 Collier’s Mollora Little Rosie at Pocoblu, well made all through, lovely head, good body for size & outline in profile, positive in front movement, correct topline maintained throughout. CC; 2 Hurley’s Fralex Culibre Sapphire, pleasing bitch, loved her head, neck & general construction, similar to 1 in many aspects, glamorous coat. Lacking a touch in front on the move; 3 Davies’ Honeymist Tease N Freeze. Breeders Bannister’s Miteymidgets, placed third in the group. EILEEN NEEDHAM
