I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at the General SKC Show. My sincere gratitude goes to the exhibitors for braving the very cold hall and for their patience, as we were the last breed in the ring. I thoroughly enjoyed judging this unique and endearing breed, thank you for the privilege of assessing your wonderful dogs.

1ST 11967 - Amifidele Hashtag Hipster (Mrs Ha Scott)

Pleasing outline on this two-year-old blue dog. He shows good body proportions when stacked, with a nice flow to his outline with a generally more refined appearance. Balanced head shape with no stop, narrow skull, and a lovely dark eye. Good length of neck would like a little more depth to the brisket, a graceful rise over the loin, and moderate hindquarters. He displays a light action in profile, though a little untidy in front today, presented in fit condition. Coat of good texture.

1ST 11948 - Miteymidgets Modern Love JW (Mrs Y Bannister)

four-year-old blue dog presents a shapely silhouette, undeniably masculine, yet still graceful and lithe. He is balanced in his headpiece, with correct planes, no stop, a narrow skull, and nicely filled below the eyes, which are dark and well-shaped. He has good reach of neck, leading to a chest that is down to the elbow, with straight forelegs and a slight slope to the pasterns. Flat-ribbed, with an arch over the loin, I would prefer a little more bend to the hindquarters. Today, I preferred his side profile action, which was light and mincing, while his rear movement was parallel and showed good width, a little untidy in front. Presented in a thick, linty coat.

2ND 11965 - Mickleview Harvest Moon (Mrs E & Mr W Scott)

Nineteen-month-old blue dog, currently in the teenager stage, slightly up on the leg and needing time to mature into himself. His head features a narrow skull with no stop and lovely dark eyes. He has a long, reachy neck, a horseshoe front, and the correct amount of spring in the ribcage. He holds a good topline both when standing and on the move. I liked his hindquarters, which have the right amount of bend to the stifle and low-set hocks. He didn’t quite have the flow in profile movement compared to the winner.

A lovely class to judge, very much liked all 3 dogs

1ST 11969 - Ch/Ir Ch Fioralainn Written in The Stars with Sharnor (Mrs S & Mrs C Teare & O'prey)

A very smart and stylish three-year-old blue dog, he looked picture-perfect on the stack with his flowing, graceful lines and immaculate presentation. He did not disappoint when examined. Masculine, wedge-shaped head with a dark, well-shaped eye, thin low-set ears finished with a profuse, silky topknot. Clean neck of good length, lovely depth to the brisket, and the right amount of spring to the ribcage. Viewed from the front, he displays the correct horseshoe front. He holds his topline both standing and, on the move, with an arch over the loin to a well-set and well-carried tail. His hindquarters show a nice bend of stifle and lovely low-set hocks. He moves purposefully with a light, clean, and true action. Presented in a coat of good texture. DCC & BOB, great to see he was shortlisted in the Group – congratulations

2ND 11951 - Sharnor Sultan of Spica (Mrs J & Mrs C Fletcher)

A shapely blue dog approaching two years of age, he presents a graceful silhouette when standing and is of an ideal size while retaining a distinct masculinity. His head is nicely balanced, featuring a strong jaw, good bite, and a dark, triangular eye, with low-set, finely textured ears. He has a clean neck of good length and maintains both a good topline and underline, creating a curvy outline. His hindquarters are moderate with low-set hocks. He moves cleanly and tidily. Presented in a thick, linty jacket. I see he is the son of the winning dog. RDCC

982. Bedlington Terrier - Puppy Bitch - Entries: 3 Absentees: 0 – a class of 3 lovely youngsters

1ST 11952 - Maevani Huntress of Spica (Ms J Fletcher)

There is much to admire in this shapely blue bitch, just six months old, who showed herself like an old pro. I liked her overall proportions when standing, giving a balanced picture. Her head is very feminine, with good length and a narrow skull, correct bite, and dark, well-shaped eyes, finished off with a profuse, nearly white topknot. She has a good length of neck, a brisket of suitable depth for her age, and stands with a correct front. She holds a graceful arch over the loin with a good tuck up and moderate hindquarters. She still needs to tighten on the move coming and going, but maintains her shape in profile. BPIB & delighted to watch her be shortlisted in the Puppy Group

2ND 11964 - Notice Queen’s Gambit at Conekesheved (Imp Swe) (Mr J & Mrs L Mcnally)

Another cracking youngster, these young ladies are sure to have a lot of fun in the ring. Just six months old, this sandy bitch showed with confidence and style. Today, she was not quite as mature in body as the winner and tended to flatten her topline slightly on the move. That said, I thought she was lovely, with a very shapely outline and great femininity. I shall watch the progress of them both with interest.

3RD 11966 - Mickleview Lay Down Sally (Mrs E & Mr W Scott)

983. Bedlington Terrier - Junior Bitch - Entries: 2 Absentees: 1

1ST 11950 - Rhicullen Twinkling Star at Kiltdale (Ms G De'lara)

Twelve-month-old liver bitch, still quite raw at this stage and very much a teenager, but with time on her side. She is of pleasing size and possesses a refined overall shape when standing, displaying a happy disposition. She needs to settle on the move, as she is currently a little erratic.

984. Bedlington Terrier - Post Graduate Bitch. - Entries: 5 Absentees: 2

1ST 11963 - Honeymist Tilted Halo (Miss L Martin)

Well-proportioned and flowing two-year-old blue bitch. She is at the top end for size, yet remains very shapely with excellent body ratios. Lovely head with good depth, a dark, kind eye, fine leathers, and well-filled below the eye. Chest reaches to the elbow, and body is of good length, with an arch over the loin. Moderate hindquarters and low-set hocks. Displayed a typical, light side gait with excellent head carriage. Presented in excellent coat and condition.

2ND 11959 - Mickleview After Midnight by Tessarion (Mrs J & Mr R Lowe)

Nineteen-month-old blue bitch, very elegant, from a smaller and squarer mould than the winner, with nothing overdone. Her head is nicely balanced with correct planes, a dark, well-shaped eye, and low-set, thin, velvety ears. She has good length of neck, well set on, though not quite the chest depth of the winner, but with a typical front. She holds a decent topline and a tucked-up underline, with moderate hindquarters. Showed a steady, mincing profile gait, though a shade close behind. Well-presented and handled.

3RD 11958 - Terrablue Spirit Bizzibeddies (Mrs E & Mr R Jackson)

1ST 11968 - Silverkinn Time for Tea Rose (Mrs Ha Scott)

I liked the overall shape and size of this blue bitch, who is just shy of her second birthday. She presents a pleasing outline when standing, with a graceful silhouette. Her head is feminine, with well-placed, fine ears and a dark eye that gives a gentle expression. She has a clean neck, though I would like a little more depth to the brisket, typical in her front. Her topline shows an arch over the loin. She has pleasing hindquarters, with good width of thigh, a moderate bend of stifle, and in firm condition. I liked her side action on the move, with good tail carriage, though she was a little unsettled behind.

986. Bedlington Terrier - Open Bitch. - Entries: 3 Absentees: 0

1ST 11962 - Honeymist Dazzle Me (Miss L Martin)

A well-proportioned, quality blue bitch. She is up to size but with a graceful, balanced outline and substance without losing femininity. Her head is lovely, narrow, deep, and with an good length to the foreface, complemented by a dark, keen, yet kind eye. Thin, velvety, low-set ears frame her face elegantly. She has a pleasing length of neck, a deep brisket with flat ribs, and shows a graceful arch over the loin with a corresponding tuck-up. Her hindquarters are moderate, with short hocks. She moves with a lovely side gait that is light and springy, though today she could not quite match the dog fore and aft in the challenge. BCC & BOS

2ND 11953 - Worth Waiting for from Ycart (Mr K K & Mrs T J Fraser & Butler)

Three-year-old blue bitch, from a smaller mould than the winner, very feminine and lithe. Nicely balanced, narrow head with a smooth transition from skull to foreface. Dark, well-shaped eye with good fill beneath. Good length of neck, holding a shapely topline and underline. Not quite the depth of the winner, but has the correct amount of spring in the ribcage. Moderate angulation fore and aft. Nice, short hocks. Shows good profile movement, being light on her feet, though a fraction close behind. Presented in a linty jacket. RBCC

2ND 11958 - Terrablue Spirit Bizzibeddies (Mrs E & Mr R Jackson)

Two-year-old blue bitch, slightly smaller in stature but with balanced body ratios, appearing slightly longer. Today, she tended to level out her topline. Everything is in proportion, with a feminine head, correct planes, dark triangular-shaped eyes, and a good bite. She has a long, clean neck. I would like a little more depth to the brisket, though her ribs have the right amount of spring, leading to moderate hindquarters. Not quite as collected on the move as the winner today. Presented with a coat of linty texture
