Bedlington Terriers

Not the largest entry in the world, but lots of lovely stock to set me thinking. The OB class was especially good & are a great credit to the breed.

PD (3)

1 Richardson’s Highdene Hartley, a well presented youngster of lovely type. Long lean head, clean throated, ribs sufficient depth. Good cut up, nicely moulded croup & once settled quite light & springy in action. So well presented jacket;

2 McInally’s Conekesheved Ironstone Boy, taller & rangier at present. Lovely depth of skull, well shaped so expressive eyes, low set filberts & a very good neck & set on. He was well presented & is shapely in stance but he was playing up a bit in front when moving;

3 Bannister’s Miteymidgets English Rose.

JD (1)

1 Downes’ Honeymist Blue Bols, an eyecatching one on the move, light, easy striding & holds his shape. Nice size, 13 months old, especially pleasing head & expression, just about enough neck length, ribs fairly flat & they have good depth leading to a good underline & clean smooth rise over the loin. So well presented coat.

PGD (0).

LD (2)

1 Morris’ Honeymist Mellow Tone in Bluemazzu, tall, elegant, clean one piece head with no stop & ample depth. His eyes are a good shape & colour, big nose & a decent chin. His outline draws the eye, he is well muscled & his hocks are well let down. Moved out with an even, balanced stride;

2 Butler’s Yarbach Federers Final, on the plus are his compactness in shape, lovely size, excellent legs & feet & he looks at his best when moving. I felt he stands with a somewhat exaggerated backline which told against him. He has a good head, ears well set & he has a decent reach in neck.

OD (2)

1 CC, BOB & G2, Kiernan’s Ch Sharnor High I’m Viktor at Kierlander, my group winner at the LKA & he was looking as good as ever today. Probably at the peak of his form he presents a stunning picture, flawless in presentation & his profile action is like that of a well honed athlete, seemingly effortless yet so purposeful. Delighted to see him go G2 to the big winning Soft Coated Wheaten under Colin Powell;

2 RCC, Cumming’s Ch Rocabec Definitely Maybe, another high class Bedlington of classic make & shape. Again outstanding in presentation, so good to go over, lovely reach of neck & outline, so well muscled & like the winner he can move with a precision that has to be admired. His head is really good, excellent foreface & chin, deep set eyes are so expressive & he looks every inch the ch he is.

PB (3)

1 BP, Richardson’s Highdene Harmony, I see is litter sister to the PD winner. She is so feminine in head & expression, long neck, good head carriage, well laid shoulders & lovely feet. She is quite compact, ribs almost to the elbow, my hoped for topline with that sweeping curve from the loin & she stepped out with a steadiness & purpose;

2 Garbutt’s Aireview Star Act, I did so like this baby of just 6 months who was at times a little overawed by the whole occasion & had she had her was she would have gladly exited the ring if half a chance! Not at all nervous, so easy to handle on the table, shows great promise, is utterly feminine throughout, when stacked is so shapely, lovely reach of neck & backline & gave glimpses of good action once steadied;

3 McInally’ Conekesheved Kaldo Girl.

JB (2,1)

1 RCC, Bannister’s Miteymidgets Love In Bloom, surely a titleholder in the making. I liked her heaps. In fact so much that she won the RCC over two ch bitches. Lovely size, oozes quality in head, great eyes for shape & expression, ears well set & lie flat to her cheeks. No stop, good length in muzzle, long neck, sufficient width in chest, appealing outline & smooth, easy action. So well coated & presented. In the challenge for the RCC I simply could not resist her.

PGB (3)

1 M Love In Bloom;

2 Oxbury & Turner’s Miteymidgets Nations Unite at Jukenblu, much to admire in this very nice bitch. Long, clean cheeked head, well set eyes & good ears. Just about enough reach in neck, straight forelegs & that hint of a slope in pastern. Stands a shade flat in backline at times, but once on the move the shape is there again. She was in excellent coat which was well trimmed;

3 Fitzgerald’s Travellersway Rising Sun.

LB (3)

1 Davies’ Honeymist Posh Sugar;

2 Morris’ Bluemazzu Ballerina, these are both very classy types of bitches. I felt the winner was that little more compact in overall proportions, mainly by being shorter in the loin. I liked both in head, smooth cheeked, long muzzles & good chins. Both went around the ring with that very light positive action & were so beautifully prepared & handled. Could swap places easily;

3 Gillies’ Rhicullen Joy of Patchword.

OB (5,1)

1 CC, Davies’ Ch Honeymist Posh Dreamz, simply stunning blue bitch who just shrieks that she is a ch. Her size, the contours of her outline, the beautiful head & expression, that long neck tapering into a well laid shoulder & those sweeping curves of her body shape & hindquarters. A pleasure to watch on the move & together with the BOB in the challenge, their sheer look of quality made my day. What a credit to the breed they are;

2 Walshaw’s Ch Janmark Jkay, unsurprised to read she & 3 are also champions. Loved her head & forehand, perhaps not quite the length of neck of those two I put over her but she is certainly compact, deep ribs, well muscled hindquarters & a delight to watch circle the ring with such a light stride;

3 Bannister’s Ch Miteymidgets Going Global.
