BEDLINGTON PAIGNTON 10 Judge: Mr D Owen BEDLINGTON JUDGE PAIGNTON 10 Bedlington Terriers Thank you to those exhibitors who supported my first CC appointment by making the difficult journey to show on a Monday, particularly with a breed club championship show 6 days later in the north of England. I found no bad mouths or feet & was pleased with the overall quality of the exhibits. PD (2) 1 Jones’ Pengerrig Unique, 9 months, blue, good body length to height, correct head with thin correctly set ears, strong teeth, good depth of chest producing good tuck-up, arch over loin retained on move, moved well. BP; 2 Ames’ Sharnor Faithful Falcon, blue, just 6 month, very similar to 1, typical head with good scissor bite, dark eye & correct earset. Not quite body length of 1. Should do well when tightens up on front. JD (1) 1 Bouse’s Tredomen Dixie, blue, nice head with good scissor bite, good depth of chest & tuck-up. Topline hunched up when on table. Arch clearly over loin when standing naturally, moved well. PGD (0). LD (2) 1 Caines’ Burmington And Me Too, liver, hard condition, strong head with large teeth, correct eye, ear & tailset, long tapering neck springing up from well laid shoulders, good depth of chest, well muscled producing drive when moving; 2 Walshaw’s Janmark Alannora, not dissimilar to 1, nicely balanced with good body length, well muscled & moved well. Preferred topline of 1. OD (2) Small class but delighted with 2 top quality dogs to judge. 1 Walshaw’s Janmark Blue Encounter, up to size. Blue, beautifully balanced & well angulated, correct head with large teeth & strong scissor bite, dark triangular eye, correct ear & tailset, good body length, depth of chest & tuck-up, arch over loin, moved with purpose. CC; 2 Jones’ Ch Pengerrig Iron Duke, well proportioned blue, also with excellent angulation, good length to height, similar in most respects to 1, also moved well. Preferred movement of 1. RCC. PB (3) 1 Ames’ Sharnor Emerald Electra, 7 months, blue. Lacking body length of 2. Excellent head & eye, good depth of chest with arch over loin, good dark puppy coat, moved very well for age; 2 Morrice’s Mollora Wild Thyme, 9 months, blue, well made with good length to height, strong narrow head with dark eye & correct earset. Preferred topline & movement of 1; 3 Caines’ Gnejnabay Just Asha at Burmington. JB (1) 1 Walshaw’s Janmark Misty Horizons, blue, strong head, correct scissor bite with large teeth, long tapering neck, strong pasterns & hocks, well muscled, moved well when settled. PGB (4) 1 J Misty Horizons; 2 Mayers’ Tcheria Tiddlywink, narrow skull, dark eye, long tapering jaw, large nostrils, correct tailset, hocks well let down, well muscled. Preferred movement & topline of 1; 3 Thompson’s Jetsway Absolut Bling. LB (3) 1 Bannister’s Miteymidgets Tetrarch, well balanced blue, narrow skull, dark eye, correct earset, good length of muzzle, long tapering neck, good depth of chest & good tuck-up, correct tailset, moved with drive; 2 Bannister’s Miteymidgets Matilda, blue from same kennel. Not quite body length of 1. Similar in other respects. Preferred topline & movement of 1; 3 Mayers’ Tolpedn Tickled Pink. OB (4) 1 Yearley’s Ch Gnejnabay Genegenie Gal at Lowbrook, this young liver really is something special, displaying usual ring presence. Not without faults but these are more than compensated for by the many good points that satisfy the breed Standard. Consistently moves well & is one of the best, if not the best, movers I have seen, as always well presented & handled, what more can I say that has not already been said many times by others. CC & BOB; 2 Morrice’s Ch Mollora Fancy Pants, another nicely balanced blue, have always liked, good dark coat, head matches breed Standard in every respect, good depth of chest with good tuck-up, well muscled & moved well. RCC; 3 Bannister’s Miteymidgets Hawkers Cove. Breeders 1 Bannister’s, dogs are consistently to type & perform well as a team. DEREK OWEN |
