BEDLINGTON JUDGE MIDLAND COUNTIES 25
I would like to thank the Officers and Committee of Midland Counties Canine Society for their kind invitation to judge my beloved breed, and the exhibitors for their entries and sporting manner in which they accepted my decisions. It has been 4 years since I last judged the breed I think my opening comments from then still apply. There were exhibits which I thought looked pleasing and breed typical whilst stacked, however once they were on the move they were unable to retain our unique arch over the loin profile or move true, reaching in front and driving from behind. Balance on the move still remains a top priority for me as if the construction is correct then movement and our overall graceful outline will follow. There were very few that had that lovely slight roll once they got into their full stride and I found that there were a few missing the horseshoe front and some carrying their tails incorrectly. Bedlington Terriers are such a unique and delightful breed and is it so important that we strive to retain these breed specific characteristics.
