BEDLINGTON MIDLAND COUNTIES 19 Judge(s): DEREK OWEN Thank you to the Committee for inviting me to judge the breed, to my very experienced stewards for ensuring everything ran smoothly and to the exhibitors for making this a most enjoyable day. I was pleased with my entry given it was a Thursday. The overall quality of the exhibits was good. Yet again I found no bad feet and no bad mouths and no health issues to draw to the attention of The Kennel Club. There continues to be greater depth of quality in the bitches although some exhibits appeared to be a little on the small size. Pleased to see fewer exhibits short in the body compared to previous occasions I have judged. Height to length called for in the breed standard is something I like to see. Unfortunately there continues to be a lack of hard muscle tone in many exhibits. 1. Smith’s Velvety Chocolate Drizzle A pleasing young liver puppy with a sound head and small correct colour eye. Scissor bite. Good outline and correct tail carriage. Reasonable depth of chest for a minor puppy. Good height to length. Moved soundly and well presented. 2.Moore and Devleigh’s Bedlishes Valiant Knight At Devleigh (Imp Rus) NAF. Pleasing head with good ear set and good length of muzzle Flat ribs. Also good height to length. Moved ok. JD (0) PGD (0) LD (2) 1. Gillies’ Rhicullen Rennie Mac Nicely balanced dog with a strong head and small dark eye. Good topline with correct tail set. Moderate turn of stifle. Good height to length. Well muscled. Good length of body with arch over loin which was retained on the move. Well muscled. Moved with drive carrying tail well. Well presented. This handsome boy has often missed out on top honours but today well deserved DCC 2. The Late Mrs Davies’ Ch Honeymist Blue Bols Another well muscled dog well presented. Good overall conformation. Strong in head and neck.Flat ribs leading to good tuck up. Preferred length and movement of 1. RDCC 3. Pedersen’s Sharnor High Intensity. Veteran Dog (0) The future looks promising.
