The Midland Bedlington Terrier Club held a championship show where BIS was Ch Sharnor High I’m Viktor at Kierlander; RBIS, Janmark Jkay; & BP, Miteymidgets Going Global. Thank you to my stewards, the committee & exhibitors for making this a most enjoyable day. The overall quality of the exhibits was good. I found no bad feet & no bad mouths. I was particularly pleased to have a good dog entry given the somewhat small entries at recent championship shows. As usual the bitch entry was sound. MPD (3) 1 Mayers’ Tcheria Causing Tchaos, a well muscled puppy with a strong head with strong teeth. Good reach of neck & good length of body. Carried tail well & moved soundly. Should have a promising future. BMPD & BMP; 2 Walters & Mitchell’s Tunman Ta Dah, another one to watch. Similar to 1 with strong head & sound movement. Pushed hard for top honours but preferred the topline of 1; 3 Anderson’s Miteymidgets Bing Crosby. PD (4) 1 Baldwin’s Woolytop The One And Only, caught my eye as he entered the ring. Up to size but well balanced. Strong teeth. Good depth of chest with good tuck up. Correct tailset. Moved with drive. BPD; 2 Butler’s Yarbach Federers Final, another up to size dog. Narrow head with correct earset. Good tailset. Not quite the depth of chest of 1. Moved OK; 3 Worrall’s Bluesmurf Semper Fidelis. JD (2,1a) 1 Offer’s Woolytop Theodore, thin ears, strong teeth. Correct tailset. Moved OK. DD (0). PGD (3,1) 1 W The One And Only; 2 O’Hara’s Doehey Ace Of Hearts, well muscled with good length to height ratio. Moved OK. LD (3) 1 Pederson’s Sharnor High Intensity, correct size with strong head. Good body length with arch above loin. Well let down hocks. Moved well; 2 Morris’ Honeymist Mellow Tone in Bluemazzu, up to size but well balanced. Strong head with strong teeth. Correct tailset. Preferred topline & movement of 1; 3 Murby & Heraty’s Tassel Tabs Timber. OD (6,1) Strong class. 1 Kiernan’s Ch Sharnor High I’m Viktor at Kierlander, eyecatching dog, well presented & well handled. Good length of head & jaw. Good earset. Dark eye & strong teeth. Good depth of chest & good tuck up. Hocks well let down. Correct tailset. Good coat colour & texture. Moved with drive. CC & BIS; 2 Rainsbury & Hamilton’s Jetsway Chaser, good length of jaw with correct earset. Good length of neck springing up from well laid shoulders. Good depth of chest. Good coat colour & texture. Moved soundly. RCC; 3 Graham’s Ruffsfurze Kazan. VD (3) 1 Baldwin’s Woolytop Iwan Super Wizard, 11 year old dog in super condition. Strong head. Good body length with arch over loin. Strong pasterns & hocks well let down. Moved well. BV; 2 Neville’s Abben Blue Buttons at Chancete, larger but balanced dog. Good depth of chest with good tuck up. Moved soundly but not as well as 1; 3 Tonner & Oxbury’s Sevray Whisper at Jukenblu. MPB (1) 1 Bannister’s Miteymidgets Love In Bloom, good length of neck. Good body length with arch over loin. Moved soundly coming & going. PB (5) 1 Mayers’ Miteymidgets Universal, lovely outline when standing naturally. Strong head. Good body length with depth of chest. Hocks well let down. Good coat colour & texture. Moved well. Shall follow future with interest; 2 Tonner & Oxbury’s Miteymidgets Nations Unite at Jukenblu, litter sister to 1, but a little less substance on the day. Stong head with good length of neck. Arch over loin. Moved soundly; 3 Bannister’s Miteymidgets All My Love. JB (7,2) 1 Bannister’s Miteymidgets Going Global, this young lady just short of her 1st birthday has made quite an impact on the show ring already, & is certainly going somewhere. Correct size with excellent all round conformation. Scores well in head with well set ears & strong teeth. Moved well. RCC & BP; 2 Garbutt’s Aireview Xmas Star, larger than 1, but good outline when standing naturally. Good length to height ratio. Strong pasterns. Good coat texture. Moved soundly; 3 Ames’ Sharnor Inst Infatuation. DB (1) 1 O’Hara’s Bridie Blue Moon, stood alone. Good ears. Good length to height. Flat ribs. Moved OK. PGB (7,1) 1 Moore & Chudleigh’s Cheria Tcheerleader at Devleigh, another one who caught my eye entering the ring. Sound head with dark eye. Good body length to height with strong hocks. Correct tailset. Good coat texture. Moved well; 2 Jones’ Tcheria Tydfil of Pengerrig, litter sister & very similar to 1, but not quite the strength in head & body. Pleasing topline. Moved well; 3 Morris’ Bluemazzu Ballerina. LB (5) 1 Graham’s Ruffsfurze Zemzem, gave this girl BP last time I judged. She has matured nicely & does not disappoint. Strong head & teeth. Good body length. Best mover in this class; 2 Miteymidgets Endless Love, nice size feminine bitch. Moved well. Would have preferred slightly more body length; 3 Baldwin’s Honeymist Golden Daze at Woolytop. OB (7,2) Strong class. 1 Walshaw’s Janmark Jkay, excellent overall conformation. Strong head & teeth. Good length of neck springing from well laid shoulders. Good length to height. Arch over loin. Moved with drive. Well handled. CC & RBIS. I must have been one of the few people in the room that did not know that this girl was sitting on two CCs. Delighted to learn that I had given her a well deserved crown; 2 Ames’ Sharnor High Hopes, good head & teeth. Ear & tailsets correct. Good length of neck. Slightly less body length than 1. Moved well; 3 Graham’s Ruffsfurze Beren. VB (3,1) 1 Bannister’s Ch Miteymidgets Hawkers Cove, this 7 year old bitch was shown in hard condition. Strong & muscular. Strong head & teeth. Good length of body. Good coat colour & texture. Moved with drive; 2 Phillips’ Ch Rathsrigg April Rose, 9 years old. Smaller than 1 & very feminine with lovely head & expression. Good coat colour & texture. Today lost out on movement. DEREK OWEN |
