BEDLINGTON LEEDS 12 Judge: Mrs Alice Emsley BEDLINGTON JUDGE LEEDS 12 Bedlington Terriers Quite a number of exhibits were new to me which made for an interesting day. I found a few heavy in shoulder, lacking in head length & round eyes. On a positive note, there were no cracked pads, the dreaded high tails did not seem as prevalent & all had good clean teeth. PD (3) 1 Waller’s Doehey King of Hearts, 10 months, blue, up to size, masculine dog, nice head, good mouth & foreface, reachy neck, decent coat, best mover of the class; 2 Brady & Carter’s Tcheria Shenanigans, 10 months blue, smaller dog with masculine head, good length of neck, deep through, shapely rear, movement let him down; 3 Davis’ Honeymist Sunny Delight. JD (5) 1 Graham’s Ruffsfurze Kazan, attractive young dog, crisp coat texture body well off for bone, lengthy head with good mouth, strong foreface, reachy neck leading to well angulated shoulders, deep through brisket, well muscled rearquarters which he used well keeping his topline. RCC; 2 Davis’ Honeymist Indigo Blues, quality blue, similar make & shape to 1, masculine head with strong jaw, small dark eye, good length of neck leading to well angulated shoulders, deep brisket Good bend of stifle, low hocks. Kept his roach on the move, but preferred front action of 1 well presented as always from this kennel; 3 Walshaw & Richardson’s Janmark Jeremiah. PGD (1) 1 Hamilton’s Moniazull Life Of Riley, stood alone, up to size, rather heavy on shoulder. Would like a finer head, but he has a good mouth & reach of neck, front movement OK but rear was a little erratic. LD (4) 1 Richardson’s Highdene Howzthat, nice make & shape, masculine head with small dark eye, correct bite, super front, deep through brisket, well muscled rearquarters which he uses well, moved with drive; 2 Cumming’s Honeymist Blue Flame at Rocabec, attractive blue, in good coat, elegant lean head which he carried well, correct front, length of neck, & shoulder placement, good tuck-up of loin, shapely rear, kept his topline on the move but movement not as true as 1; 3 Oxbury & Tonner’s Sevray Whisper at Jukenblu. OD (8) Strong class. 1 Walters & Mitchell’s Ch Rathsrigg Millrace, lovely conformation & size, he looks a picture standing. Lengthy head with strong jaw, good mouth, fine ears, good reach of neck leading to well angulated shoulders, deep through brisket, flat sides & strong well muscled rearquarters, crisp coat texture & colour. One of the best movers. Well presented. CC & BOB; 2 Walshaw’s Ch Janmark Blue Encounter, well known blue, good length of head, strong foreface, dark eye, good reach of neck. Heavier on shoulders & not the flat sides of 1. Deep brisket, shapely rearquarters, well muscled, moved well keeping his topline; 3 Owen’s Ch Bisbee Beachcomer. VD (0). PB (3) 1 Bannister’s Miteymidgets Luck Of Love, 7 months blue, what a little cracker, her movement was a pleasure to watch, moved with drive, excellent front extension, well muscled rearquarters with hard secondary thighs. A credit to her breeder. Rather enjoying her day out on the table, but she did settle. She has a super long lean head, well filled under eye, dark twinkling eyes, reachy neck, deep flat sides, in good dark coat, not the furnishings of some, but her movement made up for this. BP; 2 Pocklinton’s Nebercrackers Rosie Blue, attractive blue with deep brisket, not the movement of 1. So sorry my recorder decided to malfunction here so have no more notes; 3 Hoaksey’s Nebercrackers Aphrodite. JB (4) 1 Graham’s Ruffsfurze Beren, litter sister to RDCC, similar notes apply, not the best of coats, but her true movement won her the class; 2 Walters & Mitchell’s Tunman Topsy Turvy, similar make & shape, but not the movement of 1 although in better coat & colour. Would like more length of head but she has fine ears, good shoulders, deep brisket, & shapely rearquarters; 3 N Rosie Blue. PGB (3) 1 Richardson’s Highdene Hetti, nice make & shape, good length of head, small dark eye, fine ears, correct front & shoulders, shapely rear, but needs to carry more weight. Coat rather soft but moved well to win the class; 2 Hamilton’s Moniazuli Truly Magic, attractive outline, but would like more length of head, good reach of neck & good tuck-up Soft coat lacking guard hairs. Moved OK; 3 Adams’ Barrule St Cuthbert at Adamskidream. LB (7) 1 Richardson’s Highdene High Society, lovely size, very feminine, good make & shape standing when she decides to stop playing up her handler, super head, small dark eye, good mouth & foreface, lengthy neck & correct shoulder placement. Correct front, deep brisket, flat sides well muscled rearquarters, low hocks, true effortless movement won her the class. CC; 2 Davis’ Honeymist Midnight Star, nice sized blue, similar in make & shape to 1, very attractive with feminine head, good mouth, good length of neck leading to correct lay of shoulder, deep through, coat a little soft, but beautifully presented as always from this kennel. Shapley rear but not the muscle of 1, kept her topline & tailset when on the move. These two bitches could change places at any time; 3 Murby & Heraty’s Honeymist String of Pearls with Tasseltabs. OB (8) A Trio of quality bitches. 1 Phillips’ Ch Cassdenal Serendipity, a worthy ch, attractive bitch, carrying the best dark coat of the day, lovely make & shape, good length of head, strong foreface, fine ears, correct front, deep brisket, low hocks, moved with drive, but in the final "run off” for the CC, rear action let her down. RCC; 2 Yearley’s Ch Gnejnabay Genegenie Gal at Lowbrook, well known liver bitch. Finer lady than 1, has everything in the right place, but I would like a little more of her. Feminine head, good mouth, lovely shapely neck, correct shoulder placement, deep through brisket, shapely rear, low hocks, moved OK but lacked sparkle & drive; 3 McNally’s Aireview Cristal Blue. VB (1) 1 Bannister’s Miteymidgets Myaquila, 10 years & a credit to her breeder, crisp texture & colour to her coat, good front, head & eye, correct shoulder placement, deep brisket, well muscled rearquarters which she used well. Another sound moving bitch from this kennel. Breeders 1 Bannister, trio of blues, like peas in a pod, sporting blue jackets, their free movement won them the class. Delighted to hear they later won the Terrier Breeders Group; 2 Walshaw; 3 Davis. ALICE EMSLEY |
