BEDLINGTON JUDGE LKA 21

I would like to thank the committee of the Ladies Kennel Association for the invitation and the exhibitors for their entry. I feel that the breed has improved from the last time I judged, particularly with regard to movement, tail carriage, presentation, dentition and overall soundness. There were many exhibits that I thought looked really promising when stacked, however, once they were on the move they looked quite different as they were unable to retain the arch over the loin, or move true whilst reaching in front and driving behind. Balance on the move for me is so important as if the construction is correct then the movement and overall profile will be. There were very few that had that lovely slight roll once they got into their full stride. Bedlington Terriers are such a distinctive breed and it is so important that we strive to retain these unique characteristics.
