BEDLINGTON JUDGE DRIFFIELD 22

Thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge my own breed and and for their hospitality on the day. I found that some exhibits lost their toplines on the move, it may well have been be the ground surface compared to the last time that I judged in 2017 at Crufts, which of course is indoors on a carpet. Pleased that I found no cracked or corny feet.

VD. (1)

1 Martin, Ch.Honeymist Blue Bols, Worthy champion, sound in movement, rather more coat than I like but underneath is a well put together exhibit, good forehand and underline, RCC and best veteran and pleased to see her go Best Veteran in Group.

PD. (1)

1 Bannister, Mitemidgets Modern Love, Mature 9 month dog, in good coat, needs to tighten up in front movement but the shoulders are correct, has time on his side, good going away, longer cast than I like.

PGD. (1)

1 Jackson, Woolytop the Marshman at Padzar, good outline when stood with excellent depth of rib down to elbow with a defined under line, front movement tended to be wide.

LD. (5,1)

1 Jackson, Woolytop the Saxon at Paszar, same way bred as the PG winner, so similar comments apply, liver with correct eye colour, well off for bone and muscle, tended to lose topline on the move.

2 Oxbury & Tonner, Tunman Full Throtle at Junkenblu, preferred the movement of 1 today, but I have seen him move better, not the reach of neck as 1. Ideal eye, being small, bright and deep set, ears hanging flat to the cheek, good body proportions, another loosing topline on the move.

3 Bannister, Miteymidgets New Vision

OD. (7,2)

1 Offer, Ch. Woolytop the Viking, best outline in the class when standing, good forehand construction, excellent reach of neck running into correct layback of shoulders, good depth of rib down to elbows, well defined underline, moved well both way and side gait, deserved the CC.

2 Worrall, Bluesmurf Boogie Woogie, prefered the topline of 1, correct coat having both colour and crisp texture, not the head of 1, but correct bite, eyes small and bright, good reach of neck, brisket down to the elbows body of correct proportions another with good bone and muscle tone, longer cast than I like

3 Middlebrook, Tcheria Tcharlston

VB. (3)

1 Bannister, Ch. Miteymidgtes Going Global, 8 years old and in tip top condition, not a lot separating these two, prefered the topline and movement especially the drive out from the rear, good dark crisp coat, balanced outline when standing, good forehand, ribs down to the elbows and a definite underline tuck up, good rear angulation and tail carriage, a worthy champion.

2 Jones OBE, Tcheria Tydfil Sweet Charity, another one with dark crisp coat as required in the standard, pleased in head with thin ears, good forehand construction, moved well, difficult decision between these two.

3 Oxbury & Tonner, Miteymidgets Nations Unite at Junkenblu Sh.CM

PB. (4,1)

1 Middlebrook, Tcheria Sweet Charity, 11 months old and coming along nicely, first rate presentation and handling, good head skull not to wide and without stop, correct bite, thin ears and good reach of neck, good depth of rib, overall proportions giving a balanced outline, moved OK. Best Puppy, did well in the puppy group.

2 Scott, Janmark Je Ne Sais Pas avec Mickleview, almost 9 months and mature for this stage of development, pleased in head, thin ears good reach of neck into good shoulders, good depth of rib, longer cast than 1 moved OK.

3 Mitchell, Paceypaws Philippa

JB. (4,1)

1 McNally, Ch. Conekesheved Too Shy JW, 15 moths old and looks like she has fully matured, good overall shape and balance, with good reach of neck into correct front assembly legs underneath the body as required, good depth of rib down to the elbows and back through the body, correct topline which she kept on the move, in good coat, moved with drive and purpose with a light and springy action, presentation and handling first class, rear movement could be better. CC and Best of Breed, pleased to see her go 3rd in the group.

2 Ross, Mactufts Nanny McPhee, excels in head proportions, correct eye colouring for a liver also giving the appearance of being deep set long neck leading into good shoulder construction, correct height to length ratio, good depth of rib down to the elbows and through the body with a definite tuck up underline, top size, moved well in all directions.

3 Martin Impey, Silverkinn Wittlesbach Gem

PGB (3,1)

1 Bannister, Miteymidgets New Variant, super outline when standing, moved with a light and springy action kept her topline on the move, correct hight to length ratio, thin ears, correct forehand construction, or me the overall dark pigment does not meet the breed standard, but still a nice bitch.

2 Mitchell, Paceypaws Patricia, larger size than 1, could be stronger in head, good shoulders, excellent rear angulation coupled with good rear movement.

LB. (4,2)

1 Jones, Miteymidgets Little Hottie at Squidyannes, could be stronger in head, good dark eye giving the appearance of being deep set, thin ears, good reach of neck into correct shoulders, dark coat of the correct texture, good outline when standing, moved well.

2 Martin Impey, Red Hot Chilli of Lovely Star Generation, larger size than 1, liver with correct eye colour, good forehand construction, well off for bone and muscle, prfered the movement of 1.

OB (4)

1 Scott, Ch. Janmark Just Do It, pleased in head, thin ears correctly set on, good reach of neck into correct forehand construction, good depth of rib down to elbow and brisket deep through the body, pleasing outline when standing with a definite tuckup of the underline, kept her topline on the move, good rear angulation and moved with a light and springy action, coat of correct colour and texture, please to award her the RCC.

2 Jones OBE, Pengerrig Pure Heart, pleased to find another exhibit with a coat of correct colour and texture, pleased in head, good forehand construction with legs well underneath, good depth of rib down to the elbows, moved with a light and springy action, not the presentation of 1.

3 Fletcher, Meavani Trix Lstrange

GCB (3)

1 Bannister, Miteymidgets Love in Bloom JW, by far and away the best mover in this class pleased in head, thin ears, good reach of neck leading in to good forehand, good outline standing, moved well.

2 Martin Impey, Grace Iz Moskovskoy Bemty, could be stronger in the head, dark eye and thin ears, correct shoulders and good depth of rib, moved OK.

3 Jones, Toolbox Yes Why Not at Squidlyannes
