BEDLINGTON JUDGE DRIFFIELD 19

My thanks to the Driffield Committee for my invitation to judge and for ordering a lovely sunny day and to my two lady stewards who kept everything moving. I have to offer apologies to the exhibitors, the recorder I had used to take notes decided to malfunction. In my many years of judging this is the first time I have been unable to give a full report. So sorry, I know how disappointing that can be. It is 5 years since I judged but I was disappointed in the lack of quality in some of the exhibits to day, what has happened to the breed? Movement in some left a lot to be desired, showing a lack of ring training, soft linty coats lacking the linty feel and guard hairs, a few needed teeth cleaning, and a number lacked the long lean head with strong fore face. On a lighter note I found no cracked pads and I was pleased with my main winners and feel places could change at another show. The star of the day for me was the Best Puppy 7 months old Conekesheved Jingle Bells, blue bitch full of quality, lovely confirmation, feminine head with strength of fore-face, correct lay of shoulder, deep brisket for one so young, shapely rear quarters which she used well moving, with maturity will trouble the best. VD. no entries.
