BEDLINGTON BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL 10 Judge(s) MR PAUL EARDLEY DCC BISBEE BOY WONDER (MR P & MRS D KIERNAN & LIU) Bedlington Terriers My first CC appointment in Bedlingtons. Generally I felt that there were enough good ones to make my task interesting. Temperaments were delightful, presentation varied & was very good on some. There is a bit of variation in size & overall proportions. I thoroughly enjoyed judging them & was more than pleased with my principle winners. MPD (3,1a) 1 Jones’ Pengerrig Unique, a lovely one to start with, a real baby & obviously still raw but was a good size, nice outline standing & on the move, moved well in rear, very promising, will watch to see how he matures. BPD; 2 Collier’s Pacoblu Misterioso, stronger puppy with a really lovely head developing. At this age felt that he was a touch big & 1 was better on the move. PD (1) 1 Baldwin’s Woolytop Zuks Hoolahan, smart young man, good outline in stance, good coat texture, nicely headed. Was a little untidy in front & flattened a bit in profile on the move. JD (1) 1 Walters & Mitchell’s Rathsrigg Millrace, promising youngster, still has some maturing to do. Stood alone but could have coped with some competition, nicely presented, good head with a strong jaw. Skipped a bit in the rear & hopefully will settle to his job as he matures. PGD (3) 1 Owen’s Bisbee Beachcomber, I liked this one for overall type, good head, good depth of chest & the correct flat ribbing, held his outline on the move but perhaps a bit too much arch over the loin for me. Moved OK in rear & well in front; 2 Hall’s Palm Of The Desert, well presented & handled, good size, tended to flatten which detracted from his overall appearance; 3 Baldwin’s Woolytop Lucky Star. LD (5,1) 1 Davies’ Bla Skuggins Jack In The Box at Honeymist, quality youngster, presented to the minute, my hands flowed over him as he had graceful curves in all the right places, was the first exhibit of the day to display correct slightly sloping pasterns with no hint of weakness, very correct in front & moved OK in the rear as well, I would think that he should gain his title relatively easily. RCC; 2 Walshaw’s Janmark Alannora, not quite as eyecatching as 1 but a good headed dog, correct arch over the loin, nice to go over. Could perhaps be a little stronger behind but a quality boy; 3 Walsh & Bounden’s Lowbrook Lately of Tolpden. OD (6) 1 Kiernan & Liu’s Bisbee Boy Wonder, well named, caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring as he was so correct & was presented to really enhance his good points, lovely size, really well presented, lovely head, good sloping pasterns, great outline, nice ribbing, good tail carriage, masculine but no hint of coarseness, I thought he was excellent quality. CC, his second hopefully the third will be along shortly, on this form it ought to be; 2 Yearley’s Ch Lowbrook Llaffan, well known ch, put down really well, graceful curves. Just a touch sluggish but easy to see why he has done so well; 3 Davies’ Ch Honeymist Miles High. MPB (2,1) 1 Murby & Heraty’s Honeymist Ladybird, pretty puppy, very raw & just finding her way, well presented & handled, as she gains confidence & matures should come together. PB (5,1) 1 Walsh’s Janmark Misty Horizons, just coming up to 11 months & maturing well, very nice to go over with everything in the right place, moved well in the rear which won her the class & she was BP over the minor puppy boy on maturity; 2 Garbutt’s Aireview Classic Print, pretty youngster, eyecatching & showing promise, presented a better outline than 1 in stance but was not so positive in rear on the move. Two nice youngsters; 3 Davies’ Honeymist Midnight Star. JB (4,1) 1 Hurley’s Fralex Culibre Truffles, very feminine, stylish & an eyecatching sort, correctly fronted with a good outline, should do well as she matures; 2 Garbutt’s Aireview Starprint, close up to 1 not quite as glamorous or as eager to please but shows some promise; 3 Owen’s Bisbee Belle Inni. PGB (7,1) 1 Hardy’s Miteymidgets Carleon Cove, took my eye when she first entered the ring, showy sort, feminine, OK in the rear, nicely fronted, OK in outline & a good size, well handled; 2 Bannister’s Miteymidgets Hawkers Cove, slightly bigger overall than 1 which was really the deciding factor, otherwise stood up well to examination; 3 Thompson’s Jetsway Absolut Bling. LB (4,1) 1 Bannister’s Miteymidgets Matilda, looked like she was capable of a days work, really good muscling & nice ribs, the hard condition showed in her movement & this took the class for her; 2 Walsh’s Lowbrook London Pride at Amurospa, 8 years & put on a good show. Not quite the rear or muscletone of 1; 3 Godden’s Seaofiron Where Angels Play. OB (7,2) 1 Yearley’s Ch Gnejnabay Genegenie Gal at Lowbrook, nothing is in the wrong place on this young lady, feminine but no hint of weakness, very easy on the eye, graceful curves, correct front assembly & moves correctly in front, strong enough in rear, good dentition, good head & eye & all crowned with a coat of the correct texture with some decent colour, beautifully presented, was pleased to see her make the cut in quite a strong terrier group. CC & BOB; 2 Hurley’s Fralexculibre Sapphire, one that I did well as a puppy & I was pleased to see how well she has finished, glamorous & presented to enhance her good points, feminine, a good mover & very easy on the eye. Was a touch proud of her tail but was just coming in to season. RCC, one who should carry her title; 3 Morrice’s Ch Mollora Fancy Pants. Breeder 1 Bannister’s, these four were very well schooled & very even in type. They went on to win the terrier breeders group. PAUL EARDLEY |
