BEDLINGTON JUDGE BATH 25

Great to be allowed back with you all some 5yrs on and you made a great showing. 35 actual exhibits with just 4 absent. Aware of Category 2, I checked the pads & there was no issue at all. Grateful thanks to our experienced stewards, as ever. I am keeping these crits deliberately brief being anxious to hit the press albeit just 4 weeks on. Will endeavour to mention liver/sandy specifically so long as duly & reliably noted! The Bedlington Terrier breed is in the v best of hands in the UK thanks to all of you & the ongoing co-operation between you. Appreciated all the work in preparation of coats.

PD (2)

1 Sharnor Sultan of Spica (Fletcher); 11m of quality built on classic bodylines; gd shaped head w/o stop & long, tapering jaw; triangular eye; low, flat & filbert-shaped ear; gd neck; breed specific front; flat ribs; deep chest; natural arch plus tuck-up; linty coat; such an easy, springy mover; one to watch.

2 Mickleview Harvest Moon (Scott); 7m so naturally more raw; excellent head & eye; long, tapering neck; gd shoulder; correctly more moderate in hind angulation; less forward in coat; mincing gait albeit less positive that will come as he learns the ropes; promising baby.

JD (3)

1 Woolytop The Phezantplukka (Offer); brave name; 14m liver; quality youngster; excellent breed type & shape; narrow, rounded skull; taper to long jaw; breed typical angles; flat rib; natural arch; low tail with taper; thick, linty coat; can still firm in rear action & settle in front but merely part of the maturing process; will be winning well given a little more time.

2 Ratswell Bring Me Sunshine (Poultney);13m lovely headpiece with deep skull & tapering jaw; triangular eye; gd basic shape with flatness & depth; less forward in both development & coat so as to be ranger overall that added maturity will readily address.

3 Devleigh True Blue (Nind)

PGD (1)

1 Bisbee Bulldozer with Tessarion (Lowe); 2yrs; still maturing; pleases in head & eye; v shapely with all the specifically correct curves & angles; linty coat; springy step with slight roll; fully expect him to be moving up the class rankings so as to be ineligible for Post Graduate.

LD (3)

1 Silverkinn Skyfall of Topaz (Pedersen); 2yrs; so appealing & eye catching; absolute quality through both head & body; so shapely with all in the right place & w/o exaggeration; that correct line when drawn under the nostril heads below the eye & to the top of the ear line; ideally coated in volume & linty texture; neck enables high head carriage; correctly flat, deep & arched; low, tapering tail; distinctive mincing action; duly awarded Reserve Dog CC & will certainly follow his progress

2 Tobanie You Rock My World JW (Hewitt-Taylor);liver of 2yrs; narrow skull with long, tapering jaw; no stop; large nostrils; loved his neck, angles, flatness & backline with its natural arch & definite tuck-up yet w/o exaggeration; coat a little thin; light mincing action with slightest roll in full stride; another well able to state his claim against his peers

3 Devleigh Blue Thunder (Dobson)

OD (3,1)

1 Ch Conekesheved Out of The Blue JW (Mcnally); so classy at just 23m; fabulous head with that straight line from occiput to nose end with no stop; flat ribbed; deep chest; so shapely & curvy where it matters; 100% sound & shown in his best, linty coat; a functional mover off strong hocks. Dog CC

2 Ch/Ir Ch Fioralainn Written in The Stars with Sharnor (Teare & O’prey); 2yrs with lovely depth of colour; immediately scored in head, eye & ear; deep with flat ribs; correctly rectangular in shape; all the curves in the right places; nicely muscled rear with moderate angulation; loved his hare feet; moved out well & typically; just that bit heavier set by comparison.

Special Beginners (1)

1 R Bring Me Sunshine

PB (5)

1 Silverkinn Spice Girl (Hart); almost 12m liver; v classy with the benefit of relative maturity; advanced in coat; so correct in head type with filbert-shaped ears set on low; everything was where it should be in terms of curves & so many of the complex breed specifics; everything came together on the move that was not only correct but graceful, lithe & confident & took her through to Reserve Bitch CC & BPIB

2 Janmark Dame Dame Dame (Hanes); 8m & also of quality scoring in head, shape & required angles; obviously less forward giving lots of age away; to be frank her young child handler rather stole the show as acknowledged by the ringside as they made such a gd team working so well together; plenty of promise for sure.

3 Silverkinn Madam Grand Slam ( Martin Impey)

JB (4)

1 S Spice Girl

2 Silverkinn Craving Caneles (Martin Impey); ok, so here stood the blue litter sister with all the same attributes & am not about to repeat them; just read the above through head, shape, required angles, linty coat, etc, etc; this should be a proud breeder indeed.

3 Devleigh Papa Don’t Preach (Moore & Chudleigh)

PGB (4)

1 Kinnuva Caramel Indulgence (Kinns); 17m liver; such quality so as to fill the eye on sight; scores in head type, body shape, specific front, hare feet & linty coat; distinctive, mincing action; will be readily moving up the ranks beyond this level.

2 D Papa Don’t Preach; 16m; 3rd in JB; of a v gd type; liked her head & eye; great shape & curves with flat ribs; natural arch; plenty of positives & promise.

3 Dunkeswell Pebble Run (Long)

LB (5,2)

1 Ratzwell Jolly Jubilee JW (Harris); 2yrs of classic type & oozing quality; narrow, rounded skull; filbert-shaped low ear; triangular eye; so correct in shape & angles; flat & deep with natural arch; thick, tapering tail; gd in coat; free moving with some spring; would rate her as CC quality.

2 Kinnuva Expresso Elixir (Kinns); 17m hence giving some age away and not just as scopy; noted her dark blue linty coat; gd bodylines; gd overall structure; believe she will mature on to distinct advantage & will be worth the wait.

3 Dunkeswell Pepper Dash (Long)

OB (5)

Exciting class to end on

1 Ch Conekesheved Too Shy JW (Mcnally); 4yrs of classic breed type; just go read the breed standard and all the discussion around it & you will have this remarkable b in your minds eye; guess I was the only one present totally unaware that not only were the 2x CC winners connected Kennel wise but that their handlers were also “connected “! Bitch CC & BOB & represented the breed so well in the Group.

2 Woolytop Leading Lady (Baldwin); 5yrs benefitting from such maturity as to hold her own; combines type, shape, angles & coat with the complex list of breed specifics; a privilege to go over her & watch her perform, never wavering.

3 Am Ch Willow Wind First Class Swing Dancer RAF ( Teare & Fogel)
