BEDLINGTON TERRIER ASSOCIATION
CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
6th OCTOBER 2018

Thank you to the club for inviting me to judge and thank you to the
exhibitors who entered. Overall I think the breed has improved in
the last 12 years since I last judged this show, especially tail
carriage and front movement. Still some dogs being shown with teeth
that could do with a clean and toe nails being trimmed. So many of
these dogs could change places throughout the year and today I was
very pleased with my placings. My apologies for the delay in this
critique, have just arrived home in Spain.

MINOR PUPPY DOG/BITCH (1)

1st Martin's Grace Iz Moskovskoy Bemty. Very promising blue bitch
of almost 7 months. Good head, dark eyes and beautiful thin ears,
correct length of neck into well laid shoulders, flat ribs and good
topline that she kept on the move. Correct tail setting and movement
really good for one so young. Reserve Best Puppy in Show

PUPPY DOG (1)

1st The Late Davies' Velvety Eye of the Storm at Honeymist. Blue
dog. Super head, small dark eyes, very thin ears (personally I would
prefer less hair on his head as I think it detracts from how good his
head is) long neck in to good shoulders, flat ribs and nice depth of
brisket, lovely topline and moves really well. Best Puppy in Show and
Reserve CC.

JUNIOR DOG (1)

1st McManus' L'End Show Mystery Uneverse (Imp Rus). Really nice
blue from this famous kennel. Very nice head, small dark eyes and
thin ears, good length of neck, well placed shoulders, flat ribs, good
depth of brisket, really good front, moves really well, but better
trimming on hind legs and rear hocks would make it easier to see his
good movement. Considered him for RCC.

YEARLING DOG (3)

1st McManus' L'End Show Mystery Uneverse (Imp Rus).

2nd Baldwin's Woolytop Golden Surprise. Liver of correct size, good
head, eyes and thin ears, good length of neck, correct shoulders,
good depth of brisket with flat ribs. Correct topline which he kept on
the move and moves well.

3rd McManus' Travellerways Rory.

POST GRADUATE DOG (2)

1st Kinns' Kinnuva Dark Sleekster. Liver of correct size, good head,
eyes and ears. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders, good
topline, but a little too happy with his tail, which spoilt the overall
picture, moves really well.

2nd Mitchell's Bluesmurf Semper Paratus. Blue of correct size, head,
eyes and ears good, nice topline when standing but lost it on the
move and he moves a little wide in front.

LIMIT DOG (3)

1st Middlebrook's Tcheria Tcharleston. Blue of correct size, really
good head, eyes and ears with good length of neck in to well laid
shoulders really nice topline which he kept on the move and moved
really well.

2nd Offer's Woolytop the Wherryman ShCM. Up to size blue and
unfortunately a little out of coat today. Nice head with small dark
eyes and good ears. Topline good, moved a little too wide in front for
my liking.
