WEST HIGHLAND WHITE WINDSOR 14 Mr A Gordon BEST OF BREED : 3340 HUGHES Mr A I & Mrs E Brychdyn Diamond Geezer WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE WINDSOR 14 West Highland White Terriers Thank you to all the exhibitors for this entry. Although numbers are down I felt the mix of quality was the same & pleased to find only one exhibit with misplaced teeth. I was even more delighted by the weather which allowed me to judge outside for the first time ever without more than a couple of spots of rain! Finally thank you to my stewards who were definitely the best I have had, well done. V (1) 1 McLoughlin’s Ley Hey Living Legend, 9 year old dog in good condition who looked good in outline, nice length of neck & short coupled with a good tailset, straight front and well angulated rearend, pleasant head with a good stop & dome, ears well carried, moved around the ring well holding his topline. MPD (1) 1 Lilley & Milling’s Lilmill Nosey Parker, really promising puppy, particularly liked his double jacket which was straight, white & harsh. He moved so well around the ring with a balanced extension & drive. Masculine head with a good dome, correct sized dark eye & scissor bite, balanced length of neck & short back with a perfect carrot tail set on top & carried well. PD (1) 1 Dale’s Hopecharm Edd Turner, immaculately presented & handled pup. Pleasing head with a good stop & dome, well placed & carried ears, good eye. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders, short back & good rear angulation which he used soundly on the move. Held himself all the way round the ring. BP. JD (3) 1 Gale’s Bocans Bolt to Bellevue, I couldn’t help noticing this youngster, he has a real presence. Tall dog with a very masculine head with a dark eye & excellent stop, set on a long neck & short back. Liked to see this dog free standing very foursquare & solid. Sound moving fore & aft. Would have preferred him presented with a long top coat. RCC; 2 Gillott & Carlin’s Lizandycris Line Me Up, unfortunate to meet the first & would have done better if he had been in his Sunday best & settled more on the move. He is a sound dog in construction & movement. Particularly liked his strong muzzle with excellent mouth; 3 Ash’s Hillcloud Jupiter. YD (1) 1 Dale’s Lynnsto Candyman, very tall dog who looks a lot like his sire & has similar qualities. Immaculately presented & handled. Long neck into well laid shoulders, short coupled & good tailset. Covered the ground well on the move. PGD (6) 1 Lilley & Milling’s Krisma Line Dancer at Lilmill, won a hard class with little to choose between the top three dogs who were all different types. This dog is just my type! Very cobby with an excellent white harsh jacket. Good balanced length of neck into well laid shoulders. Really short back with a carrot tail, set & carried correctly. Good rear angulation. Moved sound front & back. He has an excellently constructed head which unfortunately isn’t obvious to see. He could have done much better in the challenge being let down by his owners poor head & front trimming which really distracted from the quality of his head & distorted the appearance of his front movement; 2 Corri’s Inverglen Lowe ‘N’ Behold, good dog with a nice outline, pleasing head & white harsh jacket. This dog excels in shoulder placement & ring presence. Unfortunate to meet the 1st; 3 Coley’s Kingsview Warwick. LD (3) 1 Hughes’ Brychdyn Diamond Geezer, this dog has such ring presence. Judged him as a youngster & pleased to see he has grown on so well. He really looks the part in the ring. Excels in cobby outline with his short perfect tail set bang on top & carried straight up the whole time. Moved a dream round the ring with ease & effort. He has particularly good rear angulation which he used with effect on the move, covered the ground so well. He has an excellent head, straight front & was well presented & handled. Won this class with ease. CC & BOB; 2 Thomson’s Ashgate Us Apollo, this dog looks much better if left to free stand. Being stacked did not show off his conformation. Liked his happy alert character in the ring. Had a nice head, straight front, white harsh coat & sound rear movement; 3 Van Der Veen’s Dashing Devil’s Busybody. OD (2) 1 Smith’s Lizandycris Call My Bluff at Roxberg, have judged him before & liked him then & now. He is a tall short coupled dog with a good masculine head, long neck & good outline. Won the class with his very gassy on presence, covered the ground really well on the move & held his topline throughout. Not in his Sunday best & carrying a little too much weight; 2 Corri’s Inverglen Lord Of The Manor, a nice dog, very different type to 1st. He is a cobby type construction with a good outline & tailset. He was out moved by the first & is weaker in head. GC (1) 1 McLoughlin’s Llovall Look Here Ley Hey, holds a bronze certificate & carried out her duties really well. She moved away & across in tune with her handler, interacted well with the spectators, entered & left the ring as directed, returned to her handler from ten paces. The handler was in control the whole time & carried a toy & brush with her. She was well groomed & this was demonstrated by her handler. Her weight was correct for her size & she was in a good condition. She even obliged by toileting in the ring so the owner was able to show that she had appropriate materials in her possession & how to use these to clear up after her dog. Well done. MPB (5) 1 Lilley & Milling’s Lilmill Bubble And Squeak, litter sister to minor puppy dog & there is a definite type here. She has the same qualities as her brother & a bright future if she grows on; 2 Thomson’s Dylandougie Ayr to Ashgate, nice puppy, sound construction but a different type to first, not so developed or settled & would improve with a better presented jacket; 3 Sweetzer’s Ambalasi Pick’n’Mix. PB (3) 1 Fryer’s Hopecharm Ops A Daisy, really sound free standing bitch with excellent conformation. Won the class with her confidence & moved her socks off round the ring. Cobby body with a short tail & correct set, carried bang on top all the time; 2 Squire’s Dashing Devil’s La Diva, this was such a sweet bitch. Very feminine head with a beautifully balanced conformation, sound movement front & back. Good but very closely cropped jacket. It was such a pity she just didn’t want to be here today otherwise could have done much better; 3 Bartley’s Atelib Moon Aura. JB (4) 1 Gillott & Carlin’s Lizandycris Talula, big girl! Level topline, good length of neck, good depth of chest. She covered the ground well on the move & again with this exhibitor let down by the presentation; 2 Rose’s Jopeta Just The One, a very nicely constructed & proportioned bitch. Feminine head, nice jacket & good tailset. She moved soundly but was a little unsettled today which let her down; 3 Harper’s Westigo Cheeky Girl. YB (3) 1 Owen’s Egremont Seventh Heaven, was really surprised by this bitch. Much better to go over than to look at. I found her to have very sound conformation. A cobby box with no exaggerations, sound movement front & back. She has well laid shoulders which aren’t heavy, good pigment. A well constructed head, short muzzle, correct placed & sized eyes, with well set & used ears. Feel she could do really well in the future with improved presentation & handling; 2 Dale’s Lynnsto Candy Crush, again from this kennel immaculately presented & handled, pushed hard for 1st. There really was not much between these two with both being similarly sound in body & movement. I just preferred the head & ears (particularly the use of) & finer shoulders of the first; 3 Foster’s Thozow Forget Me Not. PGB (7) 1 Morton’s Swifdon Stormy Days, really liked her make & shape. Lovely well constructed feminine head on a balanced length of neck into a compact cobby body. She has a straight front & well laid shoulders without any heaviness, nicely angulated rearend & good tailset. Her movement was sound & her topline held around the ring. She pushed hard against my bitch CC but unfortunately gave up on the move in the challenge with her change of handler. RCC; 2 Coley’s Karamynd So What at Kingsview, unfortunate to meet the first. Close decision with both bitches having similar qualities but different types & it just came down to me splitting hairs here. Really liked her free standing & gassy attitude. She is a tall strong bitch who excelled in ring presence. I am sure she will do very well for her owner; 3 Stock’s Lindenka Apple Charlotte. LB (4) 1 Jenning’s Comdale Charlie Girl, gave her the RCC as a 6 month old puppy & she has really blossomed into a lady. Beautiful feminine head so well constructed, on a really balanced body. Her conformation is just so good all over but without any exaggerations to upset the balance. The picture is set off by a good sized tail & correct set on. She used her construction to effect on the move, being sound fore & aft & holding her topline right round the ring. A well presented & deserved bitch. CC; 2 Fryer’s Hopecharm Flower Power, cobby free standing bitch who moved soundly fore & aft, nice length of neck into well laid back shoulders, short back & good rear angulation. Nice short tail, well set & carried on the move & standing. Harsh white jacket & good pigmentation, but lost out to a more feminine & finished first; 3 Davison’s Lynnsto That’ll Do Nicely at Braxquin. OB (4) 1 Morton’s Brychdyn Carrie on Swifdon, clear winner in this class. A tall upstanding bitch with a long neck, straight front. Short back & good rear angulation, finished off by a tail set on top. She has nice head with a good stop & dome, good mouth & excellent pigmentation, plus a harsh jacket. Her movement is sound front & back, but could do with a bit more ‘oomph’; 2 Wyndram’s Cochansa Dales Pride, a cobby bitch with a good mouth, neat small ears & moved soundly. But carrying too much weight today; 3 Andreassen’s Mar-Kri’s Daisy. ANGUS GORDON |
