WEST HIGHLAND WHITE WINDSOR 09 Judge: Miss J L Kabel WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE WINDSOR 09 West Highland White Terriers Lovely entry. Heads are at times quite poor & sometimes I missed the varminty expression. Some dogs were well constructed, but lacked strength & were not well muscled, some too thin, some too heavy. Generally speaking I feel breeders need to watch heads, expression & backends. In the higher bitch classes I was spoiled for choice & it was so nice to be able to find great bitches with correct heads, good proportions, well constructed & the backends & heads typical of the breed, moving as a Westie should. MPD (5,1a) 1 Dunne’s Charosmack Cool Days, two very promising pups, may change places on another day, but it sure was this pup’s day, just right for his age, well constructed, confident, well presented, lovely hard white coat, good head, well set ears which he uses well, keeps an eye on everything around him, very good eye, outstanding expression, all though very playful, moved well, liked him a lot, will follow him with interest, the most together in spite of his young age, excellent type. BP; 2 Britten’s Krisma Slapdash, very close decision for 2nd, certainly one to watch in the future, full of himself in a very nice way, enjoying his day out, very outgoing & alert. Due to his excitement not always moving so precise, but when he put his mind to it moved well. Very well presented; 3 Budge’s Charmedautum Dazzle. PD (4) Not the easiest class to sort out as they varied a lot in type, all moving well. 1 Minett’s Duskhunter For ‘N Connexion, well put together compact dog, best head of the three due to well defined stop. Just wish he would use his ears more as it does spoil his looks, lost him BPD. Short back, well angulated hindquarters, right for his age; 2 Dale’s Lynnsto Barclaycard, bigger puppy that is slightly longer cast, longer loin, well constructed, strong masculine head, well developed body, moved well, excellent presentation; 3 Purchon’s Lindenka Sullivan. JD (4) This was a nice class & I had to split hairs. 1 Thomson’s Ashgate Mckenzie, very well presented dog, hard white coat, well put together, good head, scored in hindquarters; 2 Lewis’ Lynnsto Man About Town, nice type of dog, well presented, short back, good type. Not as strong behind as 1. Moved & showed well; 3 Minett’s Duskhunter Dutch Courage. ND (2) 1 L Man About Town; 2 Bezuidenhout’s Lamanzie Crackerjack, well constructed, could have showed more interest in showing, seemed to say ‘mmmm do I have to’. Not as good in head & ears as 1. PGD (6,1) Two smart looking young men. 1 Smith’s Lorbri Sweet Talkin Guy, well presented, good picture of the breed, liked his proportions, bit more developed than 2, moved more evenly, excellent tailset, carries his head very well; 2 Squire’s Kimgarwyn Outlaw, nice outline, carried his head well; 3 Higgs’ Touchwood My Cool Winna. LD (10) Quite a mixed class. 1 Britten’s Krisma Spitnpolish, smart dog, well constructed, great shoulders, lovely hard white coat, very well presented, moved very well, masculine head, will only get better with time, one that will last. RCC; 2 Corri’s Inverglen Banjo, not quite the finish of 1. Masculine, moved with drive; 3 Gordon’s Lamsmore Fitzwritin. OD (7,2) Nice class with nice males that varied in size & type. 1 Thomson’s Ashgate US Patriot, masculine, looking his prime, stood out in a nice class for his type & overall balance, well developed body that is well constructed, strong head, good ears, well set eyes, good shoulders, short strong body, strong hindquarters, good hard white straight coat, moved with purpose when he didn’t have his eyes on the post in the middle of the ring, as most of the boys did. CC & BOB; 2 Purchon’s Lindenka Bennington, slightly longer cast, bigger too than 1, many excellent breed points, very strong backend which he uses very well, well laid back shoulders, hard white coat, great pigment, strong masculine head, good expression; 3 Hill & Wilson’s Olton Aye Sweater Man. V (3) Always nice to see the old ones. 1 Windram’s Barnwin Im Daisy May, scored in type, very sound bitch, still showing no sign of aging, only just in her twilight years; 2 Filmore’s Karagem Sloane Ranger, bigger bitch, lovely coat, well presented; 3 Broadhead’s Angilgate Heilan Lass at Rusthead. MPB (7,2) 1 Ash’s Hillcloud Drizzle, came in the ring & won my heart, 6 months, oozes type & personality, really enjoyed her day, best head & expression, good body for her age, will look forward to seeing her again in the future & see how she comes on, won BPB, but had to bow her head to the MPD; 2 Corri’s Inverglen Sophie, more mature perhaps, nice puppy. Just preferred overall balance of 1; 3 Dunne’s Charosmack Candlelight. PB (6,1) 1 Foster’s Thozow Sweet Pea, first two pups were quite similar in type, 1 scored in head, both well presented, good coats, moving well, correct angulations; 2 Squire’s Kimgarwyn Bramble; 3 Harper’s Westigo In On The Act. JB (8,3) 1 Roche’s Lindenka Kaylah at Sanjoc, lovely girl, was very impressed with her, very nice bitch, excellent head. Not a small girl, but very well balanced & compact. Good body, very well put together, moved very well once she got into her stride, will watch her progress in the future with interest; 2 Fox’s Hillsted Sweet Jazzmine, not as mature as 1, but has time on her side. Good to handle, excellent coat, moved & showed well; 3 Squire’s Bellevue Dream Girl. NB (0). PGB (12,1) 1 Robinson’s Killynether Koming Down to Patnor, nice type of bitch, one of the strongest heads, moved & showed very well; 2 Gallop’s Maedhlyn Summer Love, nice bitch of the type I like, very well constructed, can’t fault her with that, good body & head, moved & showed well. Just needs a bit more coat to complete the picture. Really liked her; 3 Dingley’s Davot Chi Ki. LB (10,3) This was a nice class that needed some sorting out. 1 Smith’s Lorbri Motown Magic, lovely girl, very well constructed, excellent head, well laid back shoulders, short back, well angulated backend, good tailset, well presented, moved & showed well. RCC; 2 West’s Tomlyndon Look Of Love, nice type of bitch, looking very well, good head, compact strong body, good hindquarters. Not quite the layback of shoulder of 1, but I liked her a lot; 3 Fox’s Hillsted Sweet Breeze. OB (9,1) 1 Squire’s Kimgarwyn Pebble, pretty girl, feminine, good head, required stop, neat ears which she carried & used well, well laid back shoulders, short & well angulated hindquarters, good tailset, certainly was her day, in her best bib & tucker, moved & showed well, never put a foot wrong. CC; 2 Hill & Wilson’s Olton Aye Bonne Chance, very nice type of bitch, Came close to CC & RCC winners, very similar, all have the backends I like, was splitting hairs. She just didn’t use her ears quite so well; 3 Corri’s Ch Inverglen Sula. JANE KABEL
