WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE WELKS 13
WEST OF ENGLAND LADIES KENNEL SOCIETY – 28TH APRIL 2013
MINOR PUPPY DOG – 3
1) – All 3 needing time – Sweetzer’s – Ambalasi Splash and Dash – Strong boned pup with great coat, showed well today.
2) – Hill’s – Olton Aye to Zed – Smaller than one and not putting all in today.
3) – Bartley’s – Yushama Shooting Star
PUPPY DOG – 1
1) – Pearson’s – Winoski Man Friday – Stood alone. Very nice to go over and in good condition with excellent rear movement, nicely presented one to watch mature.
JUNIOR DOG – 6 (3)
1) – Corri’s – Inverglen Lowe and Behold – I was pleased with what I found when handling this youngster, who has a very good head and the correct expression, short coupled, moved with drive which was lacking in a lot of today’s exhibits. Kept his outline on the move, so typical of the breed.
2) – McLoughlin’s – LeyHey Latest Legend – Different type to one. Good head with correct shoulder running into level topline, good hindquarters and tail set. Moved well, lacking coat today, needs time.
3) – Carlin & Gillott – Lizandychris Check Me Out.
POST GRADUATE DOG – 6 (1)
1) – Thomson’s – Ashgate US Apollo – What a pleasure to go over, good head, eye and mouth, correct expression and so balanced. Shoulders and upper arm placed as they should be, tight feet, good front and plenty of bone which again was lacking on a lot of exhibits. Level top line with excellent hind quarters giving him the movement that a West Highland should have. Must surely make the top drawer.
2) – Hughes’s – Brychdyn Diamond Geezer – Another good example of the breed with lovely head and expression, correct eye, good mouth wide skull good shoulders short coupled, straight front and well constructed rear end, moving out with drive holding his top line and good tailset which made a nice picture. Very well presented and handled, another I will watch with great interest.
3) – Pegg’s – Ambalasi Frisky Whisky
LIMIT DOG – 9 (1)
1) – Jenning’s – Comdale Johnny Boy – Very surprised to find a very good head on this young dog. His trimming around the eyes spoils his expression and makes him look to have a dish face which he has not. Very good mouth and ear set. He has a good reach of neck running into well placed shoulders with nice correct ribs and level topline, tail bang on top, excellent stifle and hock giving him good movement going around the ring. Harsh white coat and very well presented. Pleasure to watch and handle- RCC
2) – Storey’s – Nossimp Written in the Stars – Have judged before, thought today he was carrying too much weight. Excellent movement.
3) – Budge’s – Rozamie Icicle
OPEN DOG – 3
1) – Edmondson’s – Ch.Pepabby Prank – What can I say about this dog that has not already been said. I have judged before and found today that he has matured to be a fine specimen of the breed. I was more than delighted to award him the CC & BOB.
2) – Metcalfe’s – Flassendale Fairlie – Good headed with dark eye, correct reach of neck, correct shoulder, short back, correct stifle and hock. Moved freely around the ring putting all in for his new handler who got the best out of him today.
3) – Dale’s – Something Special Superbia Lynnsto (Imp)
MINOR PUPPY BITCH 4 (1)
1) – Owen’s – Egremont Seventh Heaven – Very good to handle with everything in the right place, great attitude looked as if she enjoyed the day, will watch her progress with interest.
2) – Hunt’s – Kethellrigg Lucky Charm – Another full of promise with feminine expression. Good mouth and shoulder placement, good rear end. Gave her handler a hard time on the move, just full of herself.
3) – Minett’s –Matheron For ‘n’ Affair with Duskhunter.
PUPPY BITCH 6
1) – Gale’s – Gilbri Town Gossip – First and second in this class will change places many times. This little girl is a pleasure to handle, excels in flowing movement. Expression very feminine, harsh coat and filled my eye when entering the ring, nice picture when stacked, put all in today BPIB,
2) – Gaydon’s – Told later litter sister to above. I was splitting hairs with these two. I found this one just as well to go over. Another good moving showy girl.

1) – Davison’s – Lynnsto That’l do Nicely at Braxquin – Good to go over on the table correct head and ear set, good mouth, well boned, level top line and good tail set. Harsh white coat, well presented, good size and balance. Will watch her mature.

I found her to have a very good head, with excellent mouth, good reach of neck running into good shoulders. Correct front and rear end. Harsh white coat very well presented. This was the strongest class of the day and was pleased to award her the CC.
2) – Ednmondson’s – Pepabby Pirouette – Another that puts all in as soon as she enters the ring. Show Girl should be her name. I found her very good to go over and her head is a delight. Very good front and excellent tail set which with her level top line held on the move made her eye catching. RCC
