WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE WELKS 10

West Highland White Terriers

The breed needs to pay attention to heads, which appear to be getting smaller, & the same can be said of teeth. A scissor-bite, yes the majority had it but the size of the teeth, in some instances, were like pins.

MPD (1)

1 Dale’s Lynnsto Goldcard, good head, dark eye, correct bite, good reach of neck, well laid shoulders, level back, moved well.

PD (3)

1 Edmondson’s Pepabby Prank, strong head, good ear & eye placement. Coat could have been better but harsh one is coming through. Level back, moved with drive. BP;

2 Gaydon’s Gilbri Stars And Stripes, good head, well placed shoulders, level back, good hind movement. Just preferred overall balance of 1;

3 Carlin & Gillott’s Lizandycris Out To Play.

JD (1)

1 Budge’s Charmedautum Dazzle, ear & eye placement correct, scissor bite, level back, moved well behind. Could do with a little more weight.

PGD (5)

1 Griffiths’ Karamynd Play It Again, lovely compact dog, very strong head, dark eye, small well placed ears, distinct stop, scissor bite with big strong teeth, good shoulder placement, level back, good turn of stifle, short coupled, moved with drive, harshest of white coats & presentation excellent as is becoming expected of this kennel. RCC;

2 Skelton’s Faymar Free Agent, needs to mature. Good head, correct bite, moved well;

3 Pegg’s Ambalasi Frisky Whisky.

LD (6,1a)

1 Smith’s Royalcartier Entertainer, good head, dark eye, scissor bite, elbows well in, level back, good turn of stifle, moved well;

2 Dale’s Lynnsto Barclaycard, difficult to choose between 1 & this one but in the end preferred the maturity of 1;

3 Thomson’s Ashgate McKenzie.

OD (7)

1 Fox’s Hillsted Step By Step, liked the general outline when stacked, good strong head, not exaggerated, deep chest, appropriate length of neck to good layback of shoulder, level back, good turn of stifle, moved well. CC;

2 West’s Karamynd Playing Away at Tomlyndon, much the same as 1 but preferred the head of 1;

3 Gordon’s Ch Lamsmore Fitzwritin.

MPB (3,1)

Two lovely puppies who could change places many times, preferred the maturity of 1 Smith’s Faymar Fine Romance to 2 Morton’s Lynnsto Switch to Swifton, both had good bites, harsh coats & sound movement.

PB (5,3)

1 Dale’s Lynnsto Visa, slightly domed head, dark eye, good bite & lay of shoulder, level back, moved well;

2 Ladham & Rudd’s Juraspirit Mint Julep, slightly smaller in head than 1, dark eye, good ear placement, shoulders & movement OK.

JB (7,2)

1 Ash’s Hillcloud Drizzle, good head, correct expression, good shoulder placement, level back, in excellent coat, one to watch out for in the future;

2 Macbean’s Pryorvale My Cherie Amour, good head, correct bite, level back. Just preferred maturity of 1;

3 Pegg’s Bellevue Dream Spirit.

PGB (9,1)

1 Jenning’s Llovall A Real Deal at Comdale, good slightly domed head, dark eye, well set ears, scissor bite with good sized teeth, well laid shoulders, level back, good turn of stifle, moved well;

2 Lilley & Milling’s Lilmill Potty Dotty, much the same as 1 & they could change places many times during the year. Just preferred shoulders of 1;

3 Hayton’s Pedrohay Silver Rosebud.

LB (6)

1 Coley’s Karamynd On Cue for Kingsview, strong head, lovely expression, scissor bite with big teeth, good shoulder placement, level back, good turn of stifle, moved with drive. RCC;

2 Fox’s Hillsted Sweet Breeze, much the same as 1 but didn’t seem to be enjoying herself;

3 Griffiths’ Karamynd Drama Queen.

OB (6)

What a class of quality bitches.

1 Griffiths’ Karamynd Take A Bow, lovely bitch of correct proportions, strong head with varminty appearance, full of confidence, big teeth making a perfect scissor bite, good layback of shoulder, level back, strong muscular hindquarters which made for drive on the move, presentation excellent, a coat to die for. CC & BOB.
