Southern West Highland White Terrier Club Ch Show 28th July 2018 I was sorry to hear that Marie Purchon was unwell and unable to carry out her judging appointment at this show; I wish her a speedy recovery. I would like to thank the Committee for inviting me to take her place. There was a good atmosphere at the show and it was great to be able to judge the dogs outside. I felt front angulation has improved but we still need to be careful with mouths. All dogs bar one had scissor bites but in many cases the top teeth were just over the bottom ones and no more. I worry if we are not careful we will end up with level mouths. Movement on the whole was good as were coats. Quality was good and in many classes I really had to split hairs to decide on my placings. Limit and Open Classes were particularly strong; I needed more cards as good dogs went down the line. 1. Burns’ Burneze Wild at Heart, masculine puppy, good head, correct reach of neck into level topline, short coupled, good hindquarters, harsh white coat, moved and showed well, I am sure he will have a bright future. - BPIS 1. Corri’s Inverglen Master Mariner, promising young dog, good head as have all from this kennel, good front assembly, correct reach of neck, level topline, short coupled, good backend, moves well. 1. Cooper’s Brorastar Urban Spaceman, Compact dog, full of beans, good head, well laid shoulders running into level topline, good hind angulation, moved well. 1. Thomson’s Ashgate Ayton, strongly built dog, good head neck and shoulder, straight front, level topline, good hind angulation, moved well once he settled. 1. Berry’s Karamynd Star Player with Ashgate. I have seen this dog before and liked him and I was not disappointed when I went over him. Strong head, good front assembly, correct reach of neck into compact body, level topline, excellent hindquarters, harsh white coat, moved well with reach and drive. DCC & BOS 1. Gale’s Ch Bocans Bolt to Bellevue, I judged this dog as a youngster and he has really come on since then and matured into an excellent Westie. Good breadth of skull would like a slightly better stop, good mouth, well angulated front assembly, short coupled, correct rear angulation drove him round the ring, a worthy champion. - RCC 1. Fox’s Ch Hillsted Same Again, really masculine male in great body condition, good head, great scissor bite, correct reach of neck into well laid shoulders, level topline, short coupled, good hind angulation, moves with drive and enthusiasm. 1. Lancaster’s Clanestar Careless Moon, really eye catching baby, lovely head and expression, neat ears, excellent bite, straight front, good shoulder and upper arm, level topline, correct hind angulation, free moving both ways as they always are from this kennel. I am sure she will do really well in the future. - BPB 1. Burns’ Burneze Follow My Lead, Attractive puppy, everything in the right place, good head, excellent bite, straight front, good shoulder and upper arm, level topline, moves well coming and going. Three really nice puppy bitches in these two classes. 1. Griffiths’ Karamynd Guilded Lily, excellent type of bitch, good head and mouth, has that varminity expression we love to see, good front assembly, correct reach of neck into level topline, compact body, excellent hindquarters with good bend of stifle, moved and showed so well, RCC & RBIS 1. Storey’s Lizandycris Dior for Nossimp, feminine bitch, good head and mouth, straight front excellent clean shoulders, good coat, short coupled, good backend, moved and showed well 1. Harper’s Westigo Flirty Gertie, Good head, excellent lay back of shoulder into level topline, good hind angulation, moved and showed really well, coat could be a little bit whiter. 1.Gaydons’ The Dashing Devils Popcorn at Gilbri, presents a lovely outline, head ok but doesn’t use her ears as well as she could. Correct reach of neck into excellent shoulder, short coupled, great coat, good backend , moves so well showing herself off to full advantage, real showgirl. 1. Burns’ Ch Burneze Our Marnie, pleased to be able to go over this top winning bitch, and can see why she has won so much. Good head and mouth, excellent front assembly, level topline, good coat, excellent presentation, nothing exaggerated, correct hind angulation which drives her round the ring, moves true and shows so well.
