WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE SOUTHERN COUNTIES 10

West Highland White Terriers

Not having judged the breed for a while I would like to generalise on two points. I am concerned about the poor quality & size of the front teeth in the top jaw of several of the exhibits. One even had plaque on its front teeth.

I felt that the bone of the pelvis & the rear legs on several exhibits was not good enough to get the drive that the terriers should have.

MPD (1)

1 Dale’s Lynnsto Goldcard, a well grown promising puppy, liked his head, good teeth, good coat. Interesting to see him when he fills that frame.

PD (1)

1 Carlin & Gillott’s Lizandycris Out To Play, took a while to settle, but then moved OK. Needs a bit of maturing

. YD (3,1a)

1 Macbean’s Pryorvale Euro Star, still needs to mature a bit for a more masculine look;

2 Budge’s Charmedautum Dazzle, front feet were down on pasterns & loose. Not a lot of muscle development. If this were achieved it would be quite a different picture.

PGD (12,1)

1 Kabel’s Llovall Aint Misbehavin Mr, good type & size, set of head, neck & shoulders good, level back held on move, good hocks & movement;

2 Lewis’ Lynnsto Man About Town, a good typy dog, masculine head, good front, good coat, a lot to like about him.

LD (7,1)

1 Corri’s Inverglen Banjo, a lovely, well boned dog, masculine, well coated, short back, head carried well on good front, moved strongly. RCC;

2 Dale’s Lynnsto Barclaycard, handsome dog, well made, nicely proportioned, correct movement, good coat & well presented;

3 Millen’s Sarmac Starlite Express.

OD (5)

1 Gordon’s Ch Lamsmore Fitzwritin, caught my eye as soon as he walked into the ring, a pleasure to look at & an equal pleasure to go over, all boy & he knows it, lovely proud masculine head on a good, strong body, made the ring his own. CC;

2 Minett’s Duskhunter Dutch Courage, a quality dog. Perhaps a slightly finer type than 1, but lovely to go over. Correctly made & moved really well;

3 Fox’s Hillsted Step By Step.

V (4)

1 Dingley’s Ch Davot Chivalrous Chap, always a pleasure to see the veterans, 8½ years & looking good. Carrying a bit of weight, but still beautifully presented. Moving well & looking good;

2 Gallop’s Maedhlyn Suemaya, a lovely neat & well presented bitch of 9 years, a lot to like about her, strode out well & looked happy;

3 Windram's Barnwin I’m Daisy May.

MPB (3)

1 Milner’s Rozamie Merry Go Round by Juanne, a promising 8 months puppy with an attractive head, good topline & a nice mover;

2 Morton’s Lynnsto Switch to Swifdon, good looking puppy, but carrying a tiny bit of weight which affected her movement a little;

3 Harper’s Westigo Bizzie In The Act.

PB (3,1)

1 Dale’s Lynnsto Visa, everything in the right place & showing a lot of promise, maturing up well. BP;

2 Wilshaw’s Domaroy Done And Dusted, a well boned bitch, but obviously one who needs a while to really mature. Will be interesting to see her then.

JB (6)

1 Dingley’s Davot Chinoa, good head & quarters, in fact a lot to like about her, moved well with a lovely front action, promising;

2 Corri’s Inverglen Sophie, very nice head & expression, good topline on the move, but a little sluggish. The heat may have been a factor;

3 Fryer’s Extra Galactic Du Clan Des Hamilton avec Hopecharm.

YB (4)

1 Cooper’s Brorastar Ain’t She Sweet, a nicely presented bitch in good coat, feminine head, good strong frame, correct movement;

2 Jones’ Fernlair In Persuit Of Glory, nice size & type, but not as free moving as 1;

3 Harper’s Westigo In On The Act.

GB (3)

1 Kabel’s Llovall Lady Sings The Blues, such a smart, neat & compact bitch, well presented & in good coat, a really good feminine head;

2 Bird’s Birbrinda Bewitched, a slightly bigger type of bitch than 1. Didn’t hold her topline as well as 1;

3 Brockwell’s Jackinaspin Pink Rosebud.

PGB (14)

1 Jennings’ Llovall A Real Deal at Comdale, good size & type, very well presented & in lovely coat, good to go over her, strong, correct & happy mover;

2 Lilley & Milling’s Lilmill Potty Dotty, a very close decision. Not quite so compact, but so beautifully balanced throughout & a lovely topline.

LB (5)

1 Britten’s Krisma Dot For Dot, such a good head, set so well on neck, which in turn was set in lovely shoulders, good topline & tailset, moved well. BCC;

2 Lilley & Milling’s Lilmill Give Me Your Answer Do, a slightly bigger type of bitch than 1, but most attractive. Nice to go over & nice to watch on the move;

3 Indram’s Cassara Princess.

OB (9,3)

1 Jennings’ Llovall As Mama Said to Comdale, such an attractive head & expression, in lovely coat, so balanced throughout & lovely on the move;

2 Fox’s Hillsted Sweet Breeze, in my notes I have written same again, except that she didn’t move with as much conviction as 1. Two lovely bitches who could easily change places;

3 Lancaster’s Clanestar Careless Affair.
