WEST HIGHLAND WHITE SCOTTISH BREEDS 12 Judge(s) MRS S THOMSON (ASHGATE) DCC LINDENKA SULLIVAN (MRS M PURCHON) West Highland White Terriers VD (2) 1 McLoughlin’s Ley Hey Living Legend, good head with alert expression, compact balanced outline, straight front, firm topline. I think a little more weight would help the overall picture. MPD (4) 1 Lilley & Milling’s Lilmil Outn’About, promising 7 month old, pleasing head & expression, good bite, ample reach of neck, short coupled, tail on top, strong quarters, plenty of substance, moved soundly; 2 Dingley’s Davot Chi-Ki Chap, 8 months, masculine head & expression, good reach of neck, well laid shoulder placement, firm topline, strong quarters. Sadly not so confident on the move. PD (3) 1 Hayton’s Pedrohay Roberto, masculine head, good bite, ample reach of neck, straight front, short back, good tailset, strong quarters, covered the ground well. BPD; 2 Windram’s Leonard Ventura, many of the same virtues as 1 but lacking the confidence on the move. JD (2) 1 Storey’s Nossimp Written In The Stars, really impressed me, typical type, masculine head, good bite, straight front, good depth of brisket, short back, tail on top, strong quarters, hard tight coat, covered the ground with ease; 2 Ladhams & Rudd’s Jurapirit Caimbeul, pleasing head & expression, very deep body with a lot of substance. Would like to see a bit more length of leg to complete the balance. Strong quarters, in good jacket, moved soundly. PGD (4) 1 Dale’s Something Superbia Lynnsto, masculine head, good bite, all quality, good reach of neck, straight front, firm topline, strong quarters, tail on top, excellent presentation, moved soundly; 2 Bell’s Pentangle Aramis, well constructed, plenty of substance, pleasing head & expression, well laid shoulder placement, deep brisket, strong quarters. It is a shame he does not hold his head higher on the move to do him full justice; 3 Jenkinson’s Highcross Willie Be Charmed. LD (6) A difficult class to judge, splitting hairs between some quality dogs. 1 Taylor’s Flassendale Fairlie, well proportioned head, good bite, ample reach of neck, straight front, well laid shoulder placement, deep brisket, short back, strong quarters, good tailset, covered the ground with ease, in great jacket. RCC; 2 West’s Tomlyndon Spoilt Rotten, strong masculine head, good reach of neck, short back, good tailset, very similar in type to 1 with many of the virtues. Felt 1 scored coming towards me on the move, also jacket not quite in such good state as 1; 3 Squire’s Kimgarwyn Arlo. OD (5) 1 Purchon’s Lindenka Sullivan, stood out, in gleaming white coat, strong masculine head, correct bite, good reach of neck, well laid shoulder, straight front, deep brisket, firm topline, good tailset, strong quarters, his effortless drive covers the ground with ease, plenty of substance, well presented. An honest dog fit for purpose, definitely fits the bill. CC; 2 Tullis’ Drumsheugh True Grit, appealing head & expression, good reach of neck, short back, good tailset, moved soundly. VB (1) 1 Hayton’s Silver Senorita at Pedrohay, feminine head & expression, good reach of neck, firm topline, ample depth of brisket, strong quarters, plenty of substance but still maintaining quality. MPB (2) 1 Squire’s Kimgarwyn Orchid, very appealing head & expression, straight front, short back, tailset correct, good angulation behind, looked a picture when stacked on the table. However she found standing alone a bit overwhelming. PB (8) 1 Dale’s Lynnsto Eye Candy, lovely head & expression, good reach of neck, straight front, short back, tail on top, great quarters, excellent bend of stifle, covered the ground with ease, well presented. BP & BPIS; 2 Morton’s Swifton Stormy Days, promising puppy, similar in type with the same virtues. Only lacking the maturity of 1. An excellent hard white coat which also means lacking the furnishings; 3 Squire’s Kimgarwyn Molly. JB (3) 1 Storey’s Nossimp Only Girl In Command, typical type, nothing exaggerated. She & her brother are a credit to their breeder. Lovely feminine head & expression, good reach of neck, straight front, short back, tail on top, strong quarters. Watching her covering the ground with ease was a pleasure to watch. RCC. NB (1) 1 Hunt’s Kellethrigg Serenade Girl, pleasing head & expression, good reach of neck, clean shoulders, firm topline, strong quarters, moved well. PGB (8) 1 Smith’s Lingbeck Playing The Lady, feminine head & expression, good reach of neck, straight front, firm topline, good tailset, strong quarters, moved soundly, well presented; 2 Bell’s Pentangle Penny Lane, full of quality from head to toe, pleasing head properties, straight front, well laid shoulder placement, strong quarters, plenty of substance. Carrying a bit too much weight causing a wrinkle over her withers & possibly the reason she was not too enthusiastic on the move; 3 Windrum’s Cochansa Dales Pride. LB (6) 1 Lilley & Milling’s Lilmil Potty Dotty, pleasing feminine head & expression, good reach of neck, straight front, firm topline, deep brisket, moved soundly, in excellent hard tight white jacket; 2 Carlin & Gillott’s Lizandcris Ain’t She Grand, full of quality, well put together, balanced outline. Coat not quite in the pristine condition of 1; 3 Smith’s Lingbeck Leading Lady. OB (5) 1 Smith’s Ch Faymar Fine Romance, very worthy ch, in A1 condition, lovely head & expression, good reach of neck, straight front, firm topline, tail on top, strong quarters, ample bend of stifle, covering the ground with ease, presented to perfection. CC & BOB, I believe she was in the last four for BIS; 2 Dale’s Lynnsto Platinum, quality bitch, feminine head & expression, true fore & aft, short back, quarters. Not the maturity of 1; 3 Lilley & Milling’s Lilmil Giv Me Your Answer Do. SUE THOMSON |
