SOUTHERN WEST HIGHLAND WHITE TERRIER CLUB JUDGE – Steve Owen My thanks to the club for the invitation to judge. To save repeating myself, I was more than happy with mouths, shoulder placement and toplines. Presentation was excellent. It was a hot day and some of the dogs were not too happy on the move. SBD (0) MPD (1.0) 1. Fryer's Hopecharm Northern Star. Just turned 6 months and attending his first show. PD (3.1) 1. Steemson's Bocans Hot Off The Press. Strong, well developed 11 month old. Super head with good bite. Looked impressive stacked and powered round the ring with tail carried bang on top. BPD. 2. Thomson's Ashgate Kelvin. Only four days age difference between these two and all the comments on 1 apply except that today I think the heat got to him and he was not as happy on the move as I know he usually is. JD (1.1) ND (0) PGD (1.0) 1. Fox's Hillsted Same Difference. Very smart dog with pleasing head. Nice outline stacked. Moved well around the ring with tail on top. LD (1.1) OD (3.0) 1. Skrobiszewska's GCH AM, INT, MULTI Ch Ashgate Star Gazer. A strong class with three very impressive dogs. Today, this was the one that impressed me the most. Smashing head, lovely outline stacked and on the move. CC, BOS & RBIS. Understand this makes his third in the UK – very well deserved. 2. Zaccariello's CH & IT CH Violent Warrier Vertragus. Another first class exhibit. I was splitting hairs but today preferred 1's movement. RCC. 3. Davison's Hopecharm Midnight Cowboy For Braxquin. VD/B (0) SBB (0) MPB (3.1) 1. Fryer's Hopecharm Northern Dancer. Litter sister to MPD and exactly the same comments apply. 2. Thomson's Cirinus Circus Star To Ashgate. Another 6 month old. Promising younngster who moved around the ring with drive. Coat needs a bit more time. PB (2.0) Two exceptional bitches both competing in their last Puppy class. 1. Steemson's Bellevue Jump For Joy At Bellevue. Have to say, this one is just my type. Lovely head, neck and shoulders. Short coupled. Moved really well despite the heat. Look forward to seeing her in the ring in the future. RCC & BPIS. 2. Griffiths' Holiday Romance Vixen At Karamynd. Again a top quality bitch who will no doubt change places with 1 in the future. Today, I felt she was a little less happy on the move. JB (1.0) 1. Noyce's Maxula Vanilla Ice Cream. Really liked this 17 month old. Excellent quality from nose to tail. Attractive head, well placed shoulders and a strong back end. Moved with drive and confidence. Pushed hard for RCC. Look forward to seeing her develop. NB (0) PGB (4.1) 1. Filmore's Bellevue Take A Chance With Karagem. Very nice bitch to go over. Feminine head, good shoulders and short coupled. Well presented in good coat. Sound on the move. 2. Fryer's Hopecharm Northern Lights. Another quality bitch. Very much the showgirl, went round the ring like a rocket. She is the dam of the two MP winners and her coat just needs a month or two to come back to complete the picture. 3. Thomson's Ashgate Achray. LB (1.0) 1 Carlin & Gillott's Fourastay Fidelina At Lizandycris. Well constructed bitch. Strong head, well placed shoulders, in good coat. Moved well. OB (5.0) Very strong class of quality bitches. 1. Fox's Hillsted Sweet Whispers. Caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring. Lovely to go over and looked a picture stacked and on the move. Today she was really on form and completely won me over. CC & BIS. 2. Edmondson's Highcross Prosecco At Peppaby. Another very impressive bitch. Well constructed, sound on the move and in excellent coat. 3. Fryer's Smash Sparkling Rose From Hopecharm. JUDGE – Steve Owen
