Judges Critique


I send my appreciation to S W H W T C Officers & The Committee for their invitation & hospitality
during my appointment to Judge the WHWT’s at their 2019 Championship Event
It was an honour to be able to take centre ring on behalf of The Southern Club, and I thank
the exhibitors for making the day a most enjoyable , and memorable occasion
Added to this, special thanks to my ring steward who single handed kept proceedings flowing
throughout the day

S B D 1 ent.

1st Bradbury’s Fourastay Fontayne - Stood alone

Maturing nicely, sporting a Masculine head with good stop & well spaced dark eye set under bony ridges Strong jaw with correct bite Good pigment Nice run through Well prepared jacket Slightly over stretched when stacked resulting in a sloping top line, but corrected in the challenge
Moved out well B P D

MPD 5 “ ( 2 abs )

1st Britten’s Krisma Upstart -

Another youngster of a good type that is showing promise Correct bite& dark pigment Well set eyes & ears with alert expression Shown in good jacket Moved out well in front retaining his shape with a good tail carriage
Would have liked a little more rear angulation

2nd Carlin & Gillot’s Lizandycris Egar To Roc Over -

Well muscled type with plenty of bone, a strong skull Correct bite & dark pigment A well balanced outline both when stacked & on the move Slightly longer in neck than one

3rd Minett’s Duskhunter Diamond In D’Skys

1st Bradbury’s Fourastay Fontayne B P D - As class one

JD 1 “

1st Owen’s Frisbeck Moon Rocket - Stood alone

A strong well muscled exhibit Dark pigment Good jacket Over stretched when stacked causing top line slope Tail set on top of well bodied rear quarters Showed well

ND 1 “

1st Hall’s Brorastar Mr Kyte - Stood alone P (2)

Unfortunately this exhibit just did not want to show today. Actually I saw him walking earlier when outside the ring & therefore know him to be not a bad type at all, he just needs to settle down to the task with his handler

PGD 3 “

1st Eason’s Andjoliam Silent Witness -

I was impressed with the shape of this one when stacked & when asked to move Nice run through Alert Good pigment Correct bite & hard white coat He carried his tail well & was an easy class winner

2nd Newcomb’s Comdale For Your Eyes Only -

Strongly built exhibit Harsh double coat Dark pigment Close coupled rear quarters A little short in the upper arm Moved out well

3rd Owen’s Frisbeck Guitar Man

LD 2 “ ( 1 abs )

1st Carlin & Gillott’s Lizandycris Paco Rooban D C C & R B I S - Stood alone in class

Presenting a very pleasing picture to the eye Strongly built & well balanced type Good in neck and shoulder Straight in front Short in back Deep in rib Good outline stacked & retained his shape when asked to move Sound rear with close coupled quarters giving plenty of drive when covering the ground Held his tail well His head, with neat ears, eye & bite all as desired,

O D 5 “ ( 1 abs )

1st Corri’s Ch Inverglen Master Mariner Res D CC -

This one too was well deserving of his award He is very compact & has captured a good deal of the desired WHWT attributes, firstly being well balanced with a nice run through he is sporting of a pleasing overall shape & alert expression, with dark pigment, correct bite, ear & eye spacing’s
Added to this he did not disappoint when requested to move He held his tail as should be and he covered the ground in a very smart orderly & purposeful style

2nd Lilly & Milling’s Ch Lilmill Nosey Parker -

This one possesses a good deal of quality and is another very easy on the eye Again very compact he sports a super outline when viewed in profile, Deep in body a good shape that remains during head carriage & movement . I should not have to comment further, but will mention out of respect that high marks are thus awarded overall

3rd Berry’s Ashgate Star Gazer

Veteran D & B 3 ent .

1st Fryer’s Ch Hopecharm Prince Harry B V I S -

Every inch a fine exhibit that attracts attention Very well presented in an excellent jacket Typical breed type that extends to many sound features throughout He continues to move over the ground with a good tail carriage & real driving purpose Considered him later for higher honours

2nd Storey’s Ch Nossimp Written In The Stars -

This one moved out well fore & aft Shown in a well prepared jacket Strong head Dark well placed eyes & ears Correct bite Good front Deep in rib & close coupled rear quarters with tail on top

3rd Windram’s Leonardo Ventura

SBB 1 ent

1st Bradbury’s Fourastay Fedora - Stood alone

Dark pigment Pleasing expression Good run through neck & shoulder Level top line & tail on top Well presented in good jacket but would suggest a little less coat behind the rear quarters Sound on the move

M P B 3 “ 1st Carlin & Gillott’s Lizandycris Rytham Strings - Nice when viewed from the front & in profile Correct ear & eye spacing Correct bite Dark pigment Good run through neck & shoulder Deep in body Short in back A little spare behind the tail Well presented in good
coat Moved well front & rear

2nd Britten’s Krisma Up And Coming - Typical breed type P (4 )

Correctly proportioned head Dark pigment Correct bite Neat well placed ears Dark well shaped eye Good bite Compact deep body Well presented in a good textured white jacket Moved & showed well

3rd Minett’s Duskhunter Shines Bright

PB 3 “

1st West’s Tomlyndon Able Mable B P B & B P I S - Very attractive young
puppy bitch Very feminine well proportioned head with well set in & nicely placed ears Good bite Dark pigment Well shaped eyes Straight front Good length of neck with nice run through of neck & shoulder into level back & well set tail with a little desired spare behind Sound rear quarters Moved out well in front & with good rear action

2nd Thomson’s Hillcloud Whirlwind - Liked this one too as she has much to offer Overall balanced outline in profile & straight in front Pleasing head with typical expression Strong , short & compact close coupled well muscled body Level back & strong rear quarters Moved out well

3rd Carlin & Gillott’s Fourastay Fidelina

JB 3 “

1st Burn’s Burneze Maid To Order -

This one is to order , beautifully proportioned throughout starting with a very attractive head combined with all that is desired
therein Straight front Good top line with pleasing profile & short coupled compact body Tail well set on Good rear quarters with a little spare behind & combined on the move with a good driving rear action Very nicely presented in a smart jacket

2nd Filmore’s Bellvue Take A Chance With Karagem -

Pleasing outline Short in back Typical alert expression with good pigment Used her ears well Correct scissor bite and head proportions Shown in good textured coat Deep in rib & a strong body Moved & showed well with tail on top

3rd Hall’s Bellvue Summer Breeze

TB 1 “

1st Bryant’s Swifdon Sweet Temptation At Camame- Stood alone

Strong in head with wide jaw & correct bite, ear & eye placement Strong body deep in rib But today unfortunately was not wanting to perform . I have seen her move better at other times

1st West’s Who’s Dressed Up At Tomlyndon -

Well developed bitch shown in good coat condition Liked her outline when stacked both on the table & when
on the ground She has strong well developed rear quarters with that little spare behind the tail Well proportioned head with good stop & bony ridges Completing the picture

2nd Thomson’s Smash Strong For Victory -

Looking good on entry into the ring Again Lots to like about her as she was viewed on the table A good shape in front as well as in profile Short in back deep in rib Level top line & close coupled rear quarters Moved and showed well Would have preferred a little more rear angulation

3rd Harper’s Westigo Full Of Cheek

LB 10 “ ( 2 abs )

1st Lilley & Milling’s Lilmill Catch Me If You Can Res B CC

This class was a complete joy to observe My No 1 has an excellent Head of good proportion Keen expression good stop well set ears & the important scissor bite. I witnessed a good front together with good shoulders & a pleasing profile with a close coupled four square compact body Plenty of rear drive was also evident Well deserving

2nd Storey’s Lizandycris Dior For Nossimp-

Another that has a great deal on offer Very well balanced throughout Presented in excellent condition she is one to admire from inside the ring as well as from the ring side Beautiful head well proportioned giving the typical desired breed expression Liked her shoulder & run through , length of back
rear angulation, plus drive on the move

It was a great honour & privilege to have the opportunity to lay my hands on this bitch Very striking and full of everything that one could ever wish for. Beautifully prepared A complete credit in superb white coated condition Fabulous outline viewed all round A joy to observe gliding with an easy driving action over the ground A total image of Breed perfection that remains imprinted within me

2nd Thomson’s Hopecharm Swedish Rose -

This one also impressed since she entered the ring in a well prepared white jacket of good texture I liked her positive movement fore & aft She sported a very good head with a keen expression , dark pigment, a wide jaw, a sound bite & was very attentive Added to this she looked good in profile, standing with good substance & a level back

3rd Griffiths’ Ch Karamynd Guilded Lilly
