West Highland White Terriers

Thank you to everyone who entered. Thankfully we were inside. Mouths were good but there were a few whip like tales which I don’t like & some exhibits had nothing behind the tail which spoiled the overall balance. Some had excellent profiles but lost on movement mainly from behind.

MPD (1)

1 Bartley’s Yushama Shooting Star, good coat, mouth correct, keen expression, tail up on the move. Needs time.

PD (0).

JD (2)

1 Carlin & Gillott’s Lizandycris Check Me, well balanced youngster, good head, reach of neck leading to laid back shoulders with level topline, good quarters, moved well with tail bang on top.

PGD (3)

1 Bell’s Pentangle Aramis, good coat but seemed to have a lot of it. Good head, reach of neck, shoulders & level topline, strong quarters, so moved well. Just a bit too big;

2 Moliny’s Killynether Kolumbo, smaller dog but well balanced, good coat, well placed shoulders, level topline & correct tailset. Not quite as strong as 1 on movement;

3 McLoughlin’s Ley Hey Latest Legend.

LD (5)

1 Carlin & Gillott’s Lizandycris Out To Play, good harsh coat, good head with reach of neck leading to level topline, well balanced, moved well with correct tailset;

2 Fletcher-King’s Kellbany White Wizard at Ley Hey, smaller dog but similar attributes as 1;

3 Hayton’s Pedrohay Roberto.

OD (8)

Very difficult class.

1 Fox’s Hilsted Same Again, I admired him as a youngster & was not disappointed here. Super head & expression, correct bite, well laid back shoulder with level topline, great coat, well balanced with correct tailset held well on the move, strong quarters, moved round the ring with such confidence. CC & BOB;

2 Jenkins’ Ir Ch Havasu Hugo Boss, another favourite but just pipped at the post. All the attributes of 1 but when stacked not quite the same profile. Faultless movement. RCC;

3 Metcalfe’s Flassendale Fairlie.

MPB (1)

1 Hunt’s Kellethrigg Lucky Charm, pleased to see she is more settled in the ring as she has been giving her handler a hard time. Sweet expression, very feminine, good head & mouth. Harsh coat, nice reach of neck with level topline & tailset which she kept on the move, good quarters giving excellent movement. Will watch her with interest. BP.

PB (1) A.

JB (5)

1 Lancaster’s Clanestar Cloud Chaser, bit taller than I would usually like but well balanced with lovely harsh coat. A quality bitch with good head & mouth, nice reach of neck with good shoulders & level topline, tailset good. Moved well;

2 Hand’s Crinan Calista, another quality bitch with excellent harsh coat, lovely expression, good head with nice reach of neck leading into level topline with tail set bang on top while stacked. Just a little bit overweight which spoiled her movement;

3 McLoughlin’s LLovall Look Here Ley Hey.

PGB (8)

1 Morton’s Brychdyn Carrie on Swifdon, lovely quality bitch who showed the whole time. Harsh coat, well balanced with strong movement coming from strong quarters, beautiful head, enough reach of neck, good shoulders & correct tailset. Bit short of skirt;

2 Crockett’s Markstown Tail Her Maid for Havasu, another quality bitch, good head, correct mouth, harsh coat. Nice reach of neck, good shoulders, correct tailset when stacked. Just felt quarters of 1 were stronger;

3 Dunne’s Hillcoud Ice Flake.

LB (5)

1 Kellethrigg Serenade Girl, caught my eye when she came into the ring, lovely bitch to go over. Good head, correct mouth, just enough reach of neck, good shoulder, level topline & correct tailset. Another who is a bit of a handful but moved with drive & confidence. RCC;

2 Smith’s Lingbeck Playing The Lady, another lovely bitch. Lovely reach of neck leading to good layback of shoulder & level topline. Tail bang on top but over-stripped which spoiled her outline stacked & on the move;

3 Edmondson’s Pepabby Pirouette.

OB (8)

1 Fox’s Comdale Miss January at Hillstead, I agree with everything written about this bitch. Absolutely beautiful to go over, lovely head, correct bite, reach of neck, shoulders & topline, great tailset & strong quarters, she owned the ring. CC.
