WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE SKC MAY 12

West Highland White Terriers

A small entry but I was very happy with all of my main winners & on a positive note I found no major problems with mouths.

MPD (1) A.

PD (1)

1 Steemson’s Bocans Strictly Business, cobby 10 months male, full bodied with good head & correct mouth, dark eye, good layback of shoulder & well angulated rearend, moved out confidently & used his tail well, quite tightly trimmed on his back end & could just do with more leg furnishings to show him to best effect.

JD (3)

1 Corri’s Inverglen Lord Of The Manor, well balanced 16 months youngster showing much promise, strong head & mouth, ears set well, good shoulder placement, correct depth of rib, strongest of rear ends, good width across the loins, harsh coat, liked him on the move, one to watch;

2 Hayton’s Pedrohay Roberto, young man just out of puppy, harsh white coat, scissor bite, needs to strengthen up as matures, moved well enough when settled.

PGD (3)

1 Dales’ Something Special Superbia Lynnsto, well to size male put down in good coat as expected from this kennel, well placed shoulders, tail on top, moved out with confidence, preferred his female kennelmates;

2 Jenkinson’s Highcross Willie Be Charmed Cobby, unexaggerated lad, well shaped head, strong rear end but a touch heavy across the front. Harsh coat of good length.

LD (5)

1 Britten’s Walk The Line Vom Deipen Brook to Krisma, a dog I have admired since first seeing as a puppy, of smart appearance & exhibiting a blend of style mixed with workmanlike qualities, super coat, clean shoulders, tail on top, showed alertness on the move, pushed hard for the CC & will no doubt continue to be a contender for major honours. RCC;

2 Taylor’s Flassendale Fairlie, a good honest example of the breed, well balanced & not overdone in any way, correct layback of shoulder giving a clean run into a level topline, moved with drive, liked this dog but unlucky to meet 1 on the day.

OD (3)

1 Edmondson’s Ch Pepabby Prank, difficult to look past on conformation, strongest of heads, well made up under the eyes, broad jaw & large teeth, correct shoulder placement coupled with a strong neck running seamlessly into a level topline, deep in rib & short back, tail bang on top, moved true coming & going. CC;

2 Corri’s Inverglen Banjo Typey, well balanced dog with strong head, correct mouth with large teeth, well angulated rearend, harsh coat, moved well.

MPB (3)

1 Squire’s Kimgarwyn Orchid, very feminine 7 months bitch, pretty expression, good reach of neck, well laid shoulders, strong well angulated rear end, tail set on top but not carried quite high enough on the day but not a problem as she is still so young, this will come with confidence, moved out well. BP.

PB (3)

1 Squire’s Kimgarwyn Miss Molly, well bodied puppy with strong rear end & good turn of stifle, large well shaped skull with good sized teeth, I preferred her kennelmate on the day but it will be interesting to watch the progress of both;

2 Bartley’s Pelham Lady of Heathbridge, in good health & enjoyed her day but not likely to challenge for a decent placement in this company, correct scissor bite & decent head but overall too heavy across the shoulders & lengthy enough to spoil the balance;

3 Withdrawn.

JB (5)

1 Dales’ Lynnsto Eye Candy, very smart 12 months bitch, strongly made but retaining all her feminine qualities, put down to perfection, well angulated front & rear, a tad lengthy in back but should shorten up as she matures, one for the future;

2 Edmondson’s Pepabby Pirouete, good sized strongly made bitch of similar type to her half brother, Ch Pepabby Prank, strong head, well angulated front & rear, lost out to the femininity of 1.

PGB (5)

1 Smith’s Lingbeck Playing The Lady, well balanced bitch with good sized head & correct mouth, strong rear end, tailset a bit low but held well on the move when settled;

2 Wilson’s Gairich First Addition, pushed for 1, correct sized feminine bitch, nice expression, clean shoulders, good overall balance but lost topline on move.

LB (2)

1 Lingbeck’s Leading Lady, well balanced up to size bitch, harshest of coats, broad skull with good sized teeth, well made throughout, moved out well with tail on top;

2 Tullis’ Drumsheugh White Mischief, of different type to 1 & pushed very hard for the class, finely built feminine bitch, clean shoulders & well angulated rearend, moved true but lacked the drive of 1, would benefit from more coat & a touch more weight.

OB (4)

1 Smith’s Ch Faymar Fine Romance, filled my eye upon entering the ring, such a well balanced feminine bitch, a pleasure to go over & equally a pleasure to watch on the move, I liked her conformation & movement & although unable to stay & watch the group was pleased to hear that she represented the breed very well, is proving to be a tough nut to crack this year & quite rightly so. CC, BOB;

2 Dales’ Lynnsto Platinum, quality bitch put down to perfection, strongest of heads, good depth of rib, well made shoulders & strong rear end, pushed 1 hard & probably more my type but I could not deny the winner. RCC.
