WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE PAIGNTON 23

Having been involved with West Highland White Terriers for over 40 years, it gave me great pleasure to judge the exhibits at this show. There are two points that I thought I should mention, one the heaviness of fronts on some exhibits and point two the smallness of teeth, the standard calls for the teeth to be large for the size of the dog.

MPD (2,1)

1 Britten, Krisma Fine Fettle. Good head, neck and shoulders, well held topline whilst on the move, correct tail set, strong rear end, moved extremely well both fore and aft in really smart trim for a young dog. Best Puppy and Terrier Puppy Group 3.

JD (1)

1 Owen’s, Frisbeck Horn Pipe. Well balanced head, with dark eye, small ears running into good neck and shoulders, well fitted coat, moved ok.

YD (3,1)

1st. Thomson’s, Ashgate Kelvin. In good order throughout, with well shaped head, correct run of neck into level topline, well set tail, good rear end, with a good harsh white coat, showed well.

2 Owen’s, Egremont Male Order. Good head with dark eye correct ear placement, good body, tail on top, moved ok.

LD (5)

1st. Fryer & Holmes, Hopecharm Northern Star. Grand young dog with correct head, good length of neck, well bodied, good ribcage, strong rear end, moved and showed well. Res CC

2 Foster’s, Thozow Master of the House. Slightly bigger dog, with good bone and body, in excellent coat, moved well.

3 Gale’s, Bellevue Street Trader

OD (3,2)

1 Burns’ Burneze He Who Dares Wins. A great young westie dog of good proportions throughout, in a super coat and movement, showed in immaculate style, gave me much pleasure to go over him. My CC winner. I was informed after the judging, that this was his 3rd CC, subject to KC approval.

VD (2)

1 Berry’s, Ch Karamynd Star Player with Ashgate. 7 years old, in top form, A1 mouth, clean neck and shoulders, level topline, well set tail, moved with drive. Best Veteran, and Best Veteran in Terrier Veteran Group.

2 Foster’s, Ch Hillstead Masquerade At Thozow, Jw Shcm. 9 years old, again a well presented gentleman, in good form, moved and showed well.

MPB (3,2)

1 Chambers’, Circinus Dreaming All Day. 7 months old baby, would like a little stronger head, dark eyes, small ears, lovely front, a little short of coat, but of good texture.

YB (1)

1 Cawley & House’s, Ashgate Kirtle. Good body neck and front, in good coat, moved and showed well.

PGB (5,1)

1 Filmore’s, Bellevue Take A Chance with Karagem. Well bodied, straight front, strong topline with tail on top, moved and showed well.

OB (4,2)

1 Burns’, Ch Burneze All In One. I felt it was an honour to judge this lady, presented in immaculate order, a beautiful head, good proportion of neck and body, excellent tail set, with correct rear angulation. CC and BOB.

2 Griffiths’, Ch Holiday Romance Vixen At Karamynd (Imp Pol). Another top class exhibit, which was shown in excellent order, a worthy champion. Res CC
