Overall dogs were clean & presentation was good. Just a few dogs moved with no gas in their tank, very sluggish, & just a few not carrying their tails correctly, flagging which ruins the outline & shape of the dog. For me a dog must move with drive & a slight air of attitude, well covering the ring, with their tails carried correctly on top at all times. Also for me well presented, as we are sending our BOB along to the big ring to represent our breed where there will be other beautiful, top quality terriers on show to compete against. Of course, that is only mine, one judge’s, opinion. I would have liked to have acquired this appointment under different circumstances. However, it is good to see Jean Abbey back in the saddle. If anyone wants to see what a true straight front should look like on a Westie then look no further than Jean & Doreen’s stock, something I have always admired. MPD (2) 1 West’s Tomlyndon Spoilt Rotten, nice head & eye, correct bite, cobby short backed boy, nice shoulders, tail on top at all times, moved with drive, well covering the ring, nice hard jacket, well presented as always; 2 Biscoe’s Peakstone’s Samson, nice head & correct bite. Coat needs a lot of attention as do the ears. However, he moved well. This owner needs some help from anyone living near her. We all needed help in the beginning. PD (1) 1 Dale’s Lynnsto Goldcard, nice head & expression, correct bite, nice type, showed well covering the whole of the ring, correct hard white jacket, tail on top, well presented as always. JD (2) 1 Owen’s Bournehaven Tripple Target, nice type, head, eye, mouth, well presented, good jacket, moved well; 2 Phillips’ Kyntilly Justus, nice jacket. Not the shoulders of 1. Moved well. PGD (6,2) 1 Dunne’s Charosmack Cool Days, I liked this young man, lovely head & eye, wicked expression, correct bite, lovely shoulders into very short back, tail on top, good hindquarters, moved with drive, well covering the ring with a slight air of attitude, love it. Lovely hard white jacket, very well presented as always, looked real hard at him, he pushed my top 2. Showy little number; 2 Purchon’s Lindenka Sullivan, nice headed dog, eye, nice expression, correct bite, nice shoulders. Longer cast than 1. Moved well round the ring, lovely hard white jacket, well presented as always; 3 Soar’s Sonjay Fast Forward. LD (6) 1 Griffiths’ Karamynd Play it Again, I loved this boy when I saw him as a puppy, he didn’t disappoint. Lovely head, eye, wicked expression, correct bite, small ears, good shoulders into ultra short back & smallest of tails, good hind, freestanding boy, moved round the ring with drive covering every inch of it with real attitude, lovely. Stands out in his class, hard white jacket, very well presented as always, would love him. He will gain his title soon, loved his sire. CC, BOB & G3; 2 Dale’s Lynnsto Barclaycard, nice boy, longer cast than 1. Nice head, eye, correct bite, good front, tail on top, moved round the ring well, lovely hard white jacket, well presented; 3 Squire’s Kimgarwyn Outlaw.
