WEST HIGHLAND WHITE MANCHESTER 19 Judge: Mr D Ericsson BEST OF BREED : 5067 BURNS, Miss M & BURNS Mrs A Ch Burneze Our Marnie WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE MANCHESTER 19 I very much enjoyed judging this breed again and was delighted with my winners, all splendid examples of the breed. Overall, however, I found quite a few dogs that failed in head and expression being overly long in muzzle with inadequate full under the eyes. Quite a few absentees throughout the classes, but many thanks to those who came and for good sportsmanship. 1 Fryer, Hopecharm Match Play, most attractive 6 months old baby puppy of correct shape at this stage, very good head, eye and pigmentation, excellent body, hard coat, stands well on sound legs and moved ok. Very promising 2 Owens, Frisbeck Moon Rocket, masculine strong puppy, not the head of the winner and longer in back, good topline, sound rear, excellent temperament, needs a little more discipline on the table 1 Smith, Lingbeck The One And Only, very short-backed bright white puppy full of self-esteem, good head for age, excellent pigmentation, very good body, tail and outline, could do with a little more angulation fore and aft and he is not overly masculine, happy showman 1 Burns & Burns, Burneze Wild At Hear, very striking young dog with lovely outline, excellent bone, legs and feet, very good neck and shoulders, short back, ultra-sound behind with good tail-set, hard coat in perfect bloom, head not so pleasing and front movement could be tidier, beautifully presented 2 Eason, Andjoliam Silent Witness, hard-coated masculine young dog, rather long in back and I would have liked a better front, sound quarters, well-set tail, masculine head, moved ok 1 Corri, Inverglen Master Mariner, this dog took my eye at once upon entering the ring and I was not disappointed when handling him, lovely head with beautiful eye, ears and expression, straight front, very short back, hard snow-white coat in pristine condition, showed soundly and never put a foot wrong in the ring. I liked him a lot for correct breed type and sound conformation and he could not be denied the dog CC 2 Milner, Juanne Rufus The Ruffian this is a most typical masculine West Highland with many excellent breed points, glorious head, eyes and ears, jet-black pigmentation, solid body, sound rear, good tail, carrying too much weight and his quality coat could be made to look smarter, showed well, excellent breed type 1 Berry, Karamynd Star Player With Ashgate very eye-catching dog with lovely outline moving and showing really well covering the ground with ease, handles well on the table. Overdone in soft head and leg-furnishings making him look a little unbalanced but he is structurally a very good dog 1 Dale, Lynnsto Special Agent masculine typical dog of excellent type, sound front, good rear, very hard coat showing a bit of colour, good skull, well-placed ears, not ultra-short in back, well presented showing well and a serious contender in the challenge 2 Thomson, Fernsunrise Fairplay To Ashgate, masculine strongly made dog with excellent neck and shoulders, good front, well-made body, good hindquarters and movement, ok in head, overdone in soft head furnishings detracting from expression. 3 Steemson, Multi Int Ch Bocans Backin Business Re-import (Imp) 1 Fryer, Ch & Int Ch Hopecharm Prince Harry Re (Imp), all quality dog in wonderful coat and condition, the very best of coats, good head with strong muzzle, excellent neck and shoulders, good body and topline, sound quarters, well set tail, full of breed type moving well, marginally beaten here today by his son. Res CC & Best Veteran 2 Windram, Louie Conquistador 7 years old dog who is long in body and whose coat needs attention, masculine head, good pigmentation and temperament, adequate bone 1 Burns & Burns, Burneze Maid To Order, delightful puppy whom I liked a lot, lovely head, perfect front, neck and shoulders, very good body and outline, well-set tail, happy extrovert show girl parading round the ring displaying her many excellent attributes, Best Puppy - pleased to hear that she also won the Terrier puppy group later in the day. 2 Mitchell, Frazandmitch Summer Love, strongly made bitch puppy moving well, good body and level back, a little long in muzzle and coat could be harder also at this stage, good temperament 3 Dale, Lynnsto Thunder Struck 1 Jenkins, Crockett & Taggart Hot Hot Two Handle, most typical hard-coated bitch puppy of excellent type and size, lovely head, good eye and ears, sound legs and feet, well-made body, really good behind, a little overawed by the noise but did enough to make an impression, just needs more confidence 1 Lancaster, Clanestar Careless Moon, very attractive ultra-feminine bitch, lovely head with the neatest of ears, short back, good coat, well-made body, sound rear and she moved with ease and determination, lovely breed type 2 thomson, Smash Strong For Victory, another good young bitch with attractive outline, pleasing head, good neck and shoulders, hard coat in good order, a little racier and finer all through than the winner, moved well 3 Davies, Swifdon Late Night Special 1 Jasper, Clavelshay Hurry Up Harriet, this is a very good bitch who filled my eye when she came into the ring, lovely head, neat ears, good pigmentation, very good front, well developed body, excellent hard white coat, sound quarters, moved well, tail could be set a little higher for perfection, she is not a small girl but in no way masculine, a serious contender in the challenge. Most typical quality West Highland White Terrier. 2 Szulzycka, Frazandmitch Secret Moment At Newvoldemort, smart showy bitch moving briskly with great determination, very good body, lovely quarters, well-set tail, good coat, a little chunkier overall than the winner and not so pleasing in eye and expression. Happy temperament 3 Davies, Hillcloud Riga At Manakel 1 Hands & Strand, Crinan Carousel, strongly made bitch who is very correct to go over, really lovely head with perfect eyes, ears and expression, excellent front, legs and feet, very good shoulders, level back, sound quarters, well-set tail, propelled herself round the ring with ease showing naturally, coat could have been a little harder. Excellent breed type. Res CC 1 Burns, & Burns, Ch Burneze Our Marnie this is the first time I have had the chance to handle this bitch as an adult. She has blossomed into a beautiful snow-white hard-coated bitch of intense quality. Lovely feminine head set off by dark eyes and jet-black pigmentation, sound front, good neck and shoulders, short back, perfect tail and hindquarters, fluid easy mover, a joy to judge. CC & BOB 2 Dale, Lynnsto Evelyn All, another very good bitch, most feminine with short-back, sound front and rear, level back, ok for bone, feminine head, coat of good texture showing a bit of colour, moved well. 3 Davison, Braxquin Forget Me Not 1 Windram, Cochansa Dales Pride, 12 year sold bitch with good head and excellent front, perfect dentition, would have liked better angulation fore and aft, coat of correct texture, but presentation could be improved, rather reluctant on the move
