WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE MANCHESTER 17
I was delighted, at extremely short notice, to accept this appointment.
The entry was reasonable for recent years. Looking at the entry as a whole I will make some more
general comments to begin. In the past there was a problem with teeth but this seems to be largely
resolved. Now large teeth and correct bites were the norm today. What I did find lacking was correct
layback of shoulder and bend of stifle and this inevitably affect the movement of the West Highland,
also there was a distinct lack of depth of rib in many exhibits. Saying that though I was more than
happy with the quality of my main winners .I am also pleased to report that there was not a
noticeable amount of product in the coats of the dogs.
MINOR PUPPY DOG
1st: Owen’s Frisbeck Guitarman. A well boned dog, excellent mouth, good quality coat and moved
well.
PUPPY DOG
1st. Britten’s Krisma Jump Start. A raw puppy but so well made. Exceptionally good head, leading
into nice length of neck and well laid back shoulders. Level topline, tail well set. Good Ribcage and
bend of stifle .Excellent hard white coat. A little excitable today but forgave him that because his
excellent properties could not be overlooked. Best Puppy Dog. I will watch his career with interest.
2nd. Dale’s Lynnsto Special Agent. Well made puppy diserving of his second place. As usual with this
Kennel beautifully presented and in good condition.
3rd. Walden’s Thozow Great Expectations For Taramount.
POST GRADUATE DOG
1st. Purchon’s Lindenka I’m Dexter. A true West Highland. Moved well. Strong bone and moved well.
2nd. Macbean’s Pryorvale Summer Knight. I preferred the overall sive of the first in this class. Good
coat , not the hind movement of the first.
3rd. Thomson’s Fernsunrise Fairplay to Ashgate.
LIMIT DOG
1st. Johnson’s Roxholm Ready To Rumble With Salmark. Strong masculine dog. Moved well and
stood well without assistance. Great shoulders and rear which he used to effect on the move. Super
hard white coat. Could be improved with a little less weight and refinements to the presentation to
show his good proportions. Res. CC.
2nd. Punchon’s Lindenka Donovan. Very sound in construction. Coat was not as good as first.
3rd. Corri’s Inverglen Lowe N Behold.
OPEN DOG
1st. Gillott and Carlin’s Lizandycris Line Me Up. And that was easy today. Commanded the ring
and won the class with something to spare. Good in all departments. Finnished off with an
excellent hard white coat. He moved round the ring using his strong hind quarters to good effect.
I was pleased to be able to award him the CC.
2nd. Punshon’s Ch Lindenka Chesterman. An excellent champion but had to give way today to a dog
in sparkling form.
3rd. Noyce’s Armadales Son Of A Gun At Maxula (Imp).
VETERAN DOG
1st. Lynch’s Bobby Jozef At Linacrelads. For his age he showed well. Excellent coat and mouth. Nice
construction. Good hard white coat.
MINOR PUPPY BITCH.
1st. Bartley’s Atelib Majestic Moon. Sound throughout. Nice front and shoulders. Moved well.
2nd. Johnson’s Salmark Sheza Lady. Nice puppy but just lacking the confidence of the first at the
moment.
3rd. Griffiths’ Karamynd May Queen.
PUPPY BITCH
1st. Dale’s Lynnsto Evelyn All. Lovely feminine bitch. Beautiful head and expression. Enough bone.
Nice pigment. Excellent layback of shoulder and bend of stifle allowing freedom of movement around
the ring. Best Puppy.
2nd. Thomson’s Ashgate Birnie. Stocky bitch. Very hard white coat. Well ribbed, good bone and
pigment. Moved well.
3rd. Bartley’s Atellib Lady Aurelia.
JUNIOR BITCH
1Gillott and Carlin’s Lizandycris Maggie May. Such a lovey well made bitch her construction is
beautiful but unfortunately she was not at all happy today.
POST GRADUATE BITCH
1st. Smith’s Highcross Precious Charm To Linbeck. Feminine bitch. Good front and shoulders.
Pretty head and expression. Good ribs and nice bend of stifle enabling her to move freely around the
ring.
2nd. Jenkinson’s Highcross Crystal Charm. Today had to give way to her litter sister. Ultra white
coat. Did not move too well as she is carrying a little too much weight.
3rd. Harper’s Westigo Flerty Gertie
LIMIT BITCH.
1st. Fox’s Hillstead Sweet Mystery. What a stunning West Highland. Quality throughout. Today she
commanded the ring. She has a beautiful head and expression. The right amount of neck leading into
well laid back shoulders. Level topline, nice tail set. Good bend of stifle. Good depth of rib. Excellent
hard white coat. I was delighted to award her the CC and BoB. Congratulations.
2nd. Minett’s Matheron Connex Again With Duskhunter. A very sound bitch. Good front shoulders
and topline which she held on the move. Good depth of rib , excellent bend of stifle.
3rd. Davison’s Braxquin Forget Me Not.
OPEN BITCH
1st. Griffiths’ Gib. Ch. Top Secret De New Gryffindor At Karamynd (Imp) Feminine bitch Nice head
with great expression. Good sound construction overall. Moved with purpose around the ring. Res
Bitch CC.
2nd. Squire’s The Dashing Devil’s La Diva. Simila in type and size to the above but today her coat
texture let her down.
3rd. Harper’s Westigo Cheeky Girl.
VETERAN BITCH.
1st. Smith’s Linbeck Playing the Lady. Very nice west highland moved with style around the ring.
Nice head and expression , strong well made rear. Well presented.
