WEST HIGHLAND WHITE MANCHESTER 2010 Judge: Mr Martin Phillips WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE MANCHESTER 10 West Highland White Terriers My thanks to Margaret & Frank for their expertise in keeping the ring flowing & thank you all for an exciting entry, which gave me plenty of food for thought. MPD (7,1a) 1 Edmondson’s Pepabby Prank, lovely balanced dog, good clean head, correct eye, shoulders well laid back, good body for age, very well angulated with short hocks, tailset on top. Really moved round the ring, would just like his coat to be improved. Pleased to hear he did well in the puppy stakes; 2 Owen’s Bournehaven Triple Target, impressive male, lovely coat & presentation, good head for age, well bodied, very good behind. Just preferred the front movement of 1; 3 Jennings’ Comdale Walk The Walk. PD (2) 1 Phillips’ Kyntilly Kustus, 10 months male, very well matured for age, nicely coupled, pleasing head, good straight front & well boned, OK for balance, went well; 2 Gillott & Carlins’ Lizandycris Gamely Chap, raw puppy of 6 months, but very sound, pleasing in all the right departments, just needs time. Got very good side gait, would like to see him again when he is finished. JD (5,1) 1 Dunnes’ Charosmack Cool Days, male, very nice dog, lovely type, very short coupled & balanced, good strength of head & with good expression, good body & bone for size, tailset on top, went well on the move; 2 Purchon’s Lindenka Sullivan, different type to 1, but still has good qualities. Liked him very much for his pleasing head & eye, good shoulders & body, strong topline, good behind. Would like a shade shorter; 3 Budge’s Charmedautum Dazzle. PGD (10,3) 1 Steemson’s Bellevue Knight Catcher, a very well made dog with good outline & balance, pleasing head & eye, lovely neck & shoulders, correct body with short coupling, tailset bang on top, very well angulated, went well, in top form, looked the part going around. RCC; 2 Johnson’s Kyntilly Craigatin Just F’Us, similar to 1, strong head & good front, well bodied, short coupled, tailset on top, lovely quarters. Just didn’t settle in the run off; 3 Morton’s Havasu Hey Dude for Swifdon. LD (17,3) 1 Minett’s Duskhunter Dutch Courage, heading a class of some lovely quality dogs, liked him for type & balance, very pleasing to put my hands over, lovely head & eye which looked at you right all the time, pleasing neck & shoulders, going into deep brisket, short coupled, well angulated, tail on top, well presented; 2 Corris’ Inverglen Banjo, similar to 1, pleasing quality & lovely to go over with the correct shape head & good depth of chest, splitting hairs between these two; 3 Thomson’s Ashgate McKenzie. OD (11,2) 1 Gordons’ Ch Lamsmore Fitzwritin, excellent class of dogs, spoilt for choice, male, took my eye as soon as he came in the ring with his presence, type & balance, didn’t disappoint me when it came to putting my hands on, beautiful strong skull, correct size ears, good strength of muzzle & that all important eye, set nicely apart, good size & shape with that lovely piercing look, carried on good strength of neck, without losing length, going into well laid shoulders, deep chest, correct straight forelegs, very well bodied with level topline, short loin, very well angulated quarters which she used on the move, tail bang on top, excellent coat & presentation, certainly a show boy. CC & BOB, pleased to hear he got G2 in a strong group; 2 Dale’s Ch Lynnsto Mastercard, top dog, lovely head & eye, good shoulders, nice straight front, correct body, nicely coupled, presented & shown at his best; 3 Ash’s Hillcloud Blizzard. VD (1) 1 Geldart’s Making Music at Gelmoore, 12 years male who is a credit to owner, keeping this dog as fit as he is, lovely head & eye with correct mouth, in good hard coat, went well. MPB (6) Nice class of puppies. 1 Dale’s Lynnsto Visa, lovely shape & balanced for age, nice head & shape, correct length of head to muzzle, nice bone for size, liked her quarters, in lovely coat; 2 Thomson’s Ashgate Miss Mona, very typy & good in shape & outline, liked her head & eye with good strength of muzzle, pleasing body for age, very good quarters. Just needs to settle in front; 3 Jennings’ Comdale Talk The Talk. PB (5) 1 Steemson’s Bocans Fancy That, strongly built puppy, without spoiling outline & shape, liked her head & eye, with that nice feminine expression, very strong angulated quarters, correct short hocks, good front, correct shape & colour eye, went well round the ring; 2 Squire’s Bellevue Party Spirit, one of good type, head & eye that pleased me, correct neck, liked her body & strong quarters. A bit loose in front coming towards me, but liked her bone & size for her age; 3 Cobb’s Fosseleigh Angel. JB (14,2) Lovely class of young bitches. 1 Mallon’s Colla Fanfare, liked this bitch immensely, very good quality, very good type with correct bone & size, very nice head with good expression, good strength of jaw, correct length of neck with good shoulders, good strong topline, tail bang on top, deep bodied, strong quarters, in lovely coat, really covered the ground; 2 Corris’ Inverglen Sophie, all the same merits as 1, in shape, type & quality. Just preferred the shoulder of 1; 3 Jennings’ Llovall A Real Deal at Comdale. PGB (14,3) 1 Williams’ Just Chloe Glenbelle, took my eye for her balance, shape & type, correct strength of skull with correct eye & neat ears, liked her neck & shoulders with correct foreleg, brisket deep, nicely coupled, well angulated, tailset good, moved very well; 2 Purchon’s Lindenka Clancy, lovely type & similar to 1, very nice stacked. Just lost out to 1 for not holding tail on the move; 3 Lilley & Millings’ Lilmill Potty Dotty. LB (11,4) 1 Britten’s Krisma Dot To Dot & 2 Lancaster’s Clanestar Careless Affair, excellent class, 1 & 2 made me pull my hair out, both lovely quality bitches, loved their type, shape & size, both had excellent heads with that correct piercing eye, both excellent in shape, good fronts & body, very short coupled, tailset on top, both moving with their quarters with drive. What made the final decision, which was very close, was that 1 was more positive in front coming towards me, conditioning & coat in top notch. Hope these two bitches don’t take long to get there titles; 3 Soar’s Sonjay White Fusion. OB (7,3) 1 Mallon’s Ir Ch Colla Electric Dreams, lovely quality class, headed by a lovely balanced bitch with all the right essentials, lovely head & eye, good strength & length of neck, very good shoulders, deep brisket, good front legs, good deep body with level topline, well coupled, tail bang on top, good strong quarters which she used, put down in lovely condition & very well handled; 2 Morton’s Charosmack Crystal Secret at Swifdon, top quality bitch, loved her for her size & shape, very good head, well coupled, strong topline, tailset good. Just preferred neck of 1, but a lovely bitch & nitpicking again. Put down to perfection; 3 Gaydon’s Ch Bellevue Town Flirt at Gilbri. VB (3) 1 Windram’s Barnwin Im Daisy May, 7 years bitch that can hold her own, very good type & body, pleasing head, topline correct, very sound; 2 Andrews’ Rupann Silver Charm, 11 years, owner to be congratulated on keeping this lady looking so fit, nice coupling, head & eye, with a nice expression; 3 Staffs’ Abadair Crystal Ice Princess.
