WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE LKA 15

I would like to thank all exhibitors for their entries and to wish you all a happy, successful and most importantly a healthy 2016.
On the day I was very pleased with the overall quality of the breed and found no health issues other than a couple with weak pasterns and front feet turning outwards. This is not correct and needs to be improved upon. There were one or two exhibits with the smallest of heads and tiny teeth. Fortu-nately this is not consistent with what is to be found in the breed but should be penalised at this level.

MPD. 1 entry (0 abs)

1. Mrs S J Macbeans, Pryorvale Summer Knight. Well coated young man with strong head and correct teeth. Well muscled for one so young. Moved out with confidence making use of his well placed shoulders and well angulated rear end.

PD. 5 entries (2 abs)

1. Miss M Dales, Lynnsto Judgement Day. Well developed young man put down in super trim. Strong boned well made dog with good sized head of correct shape and with large teeth. Well angulated front and rear. Front movement just a bit loose on the day but I am sure this will improve as he matures.

2. Mrs S M Thomsons, Fernsunrise Fairplay to Ashgate. Close to 1. Another promising young-ster with strong head, well made up under the eye. Strong rear end with correct tailset. Lost out to 1 on shoulders but could swap places in the future.

JD. 2 entries (1 abs)

1. Mrs D A Anthonys, Charmedautum Willis. Spirited youngster who took time to settle. It is not always so easy when moving alone in a class. Very good coat. Correct depth of rib, slightly long in upper arm and front feet turning slightly outwards when stood.

PGD. 4 entries (1 abs)

1. Mrs S Clements, Roxholm Royal Mile. Cobby, well balanced dog put down in good coat. Well boned head, well laid shoulders, strong rear angulation, Moved out well and won the class with ease.

2. Mrs S Bradburys, Gelmore Midwinter Magic. A very masculine boy with strong head and well angulated rear end. Not as balanced as 1.

LD. 6 entries (1 abs)

1. Mrs M Purchons, Lindenka Chesterman. Well proportioned dog with the finest of shoulders. Looked the part both on the move and when stood. Winning a tough class by virtue of his many physical attributes plus his overall ring presence and alertness. For me he just needs a little more time to mature into the full package and I am sure that when he does he will con-test top honours.

2. Miss K Gales Bocans Bolt to Bellevue. A dog I have judged before and indeed awarded the Reserve CC. I liked him then and no change today. Moved out well showing off his very well made frame but to be seen at his best he does need more coat. Would have pushed 1 harder had this been the case.

OD. 11 entries (4 abs)

1. Mrs J Coleys, Ch. Kingsview Warwick. A worthy Champion and fully deserving of his win to-day, a well balanced, unexaggerated dog, a pleasure to go over and hard to fault in any de-partment, the harshest of coats trimmed to meet the standard, on the move he covered the ground with ease while holding his topline and could not be denied the CC and BOB.

2. Mrs L Strands, Ch Crinan Code Name Westlake. Another Champion worthy of his title. Pushed 1 hard by virtue of his super construction. What I would call an old fashioned westie and an example of the type that we should not be moving too far away from. A pleasure to judge and award him the RES CC.

VD. 6 entries (4 abs)

1. Mrs P H McLoughlins, Ley Hey Living Legend Sh. Ch. 9 year old male in good coat, well laid shoulders, ears and tail bang on top as he moved out well.

2. Mrs J Lynch’s, Bobby Josef at Linacrelads. Another well coated senior. Teeth just moving out of line which is as can be expected at his age, bit heavier than 1 but still worthy of his place in the ring.

GCD. 1 entry (0 abs)

1. Mrs C Fletcher Kings, Kellbany White Wizard at Ley Hey. Nine year old dog, well propor-tioned with very clean shoulders, nice to go over generally and with more weight could have pushed for better things in his youth. Try as he may he could not resist the bits and pieces of treats left in the ring. This prevented him from going through his paces on the day.

MPB 3 entries (0 abs)

1. Mrs S J Macbeans, Pryorvale Summer Breeze. Such a feminine girl, well shaped head, correct teeth, nicely balanced with clean well laid shoulders and well angulated rear. Moved out so well, pleased to award her BPIB.

2. 2. Mrs J G Ash’s, Ashgate Lia with Hillcloud. More heavily bodied than 1 and a bit unsettled today but still so young, head needs time to develop which I am sure it will.

PB. 6 entries (2 abs)

1. Mr B & Mrs Squires, Kimgarwyn Thistle. Feminine puppy bitch with nice harsh coat, nicely balanced for one so young, finest of shoulders and moved out well once settled.

2. Mrs J A Griffiths, Top Secret De New Gryffindor at Karamynd (imp). Another well balanced young prospect, good head shape and strong rear end for such a young one, pushed 1 hard but lost out on the move today, these two will no doubt swap places on other days.

JB. 7 entries (3 abs)

1. Miss M Dales, Lynnsto Issa Star. I liked this bitch a lot when going over her, so well balanced and hard to fault, put down in super condition as is the norm from her kennel, a bit tardy on the move possibly due to being in season, definitely one to watch.

2. Mrs V Smiths, Faymar Tartan fling. Nice feminine bitch with the cleanest of shoulders, good head shape with correct teeth, moved out well holding her topline, her coat was of correct texture although I would have liked to have seen more length, one for the future and unlucky to meet 1 in this class.

PGB. 6 entries (0 abs)

1. Mrs S Fryers, Pride and Precious Sweet White Angel by Hopecharm. Cobby young bitch put down in super condition, the harshest of coats, strong but feminine head, correct scissor bite, moved true coming and going, tail bang on top all the time, liked her a lot and pleased to award her the Res CC.

2. Mrs D M Sweetzers, Ambalasi Pick`N` Mix. Another well built bitch and one I judged and liked as a puppy, since that time she has developed well and has a super head, well laid shoulders and a strong rear end, would be seen to better effect if losing a bit of weight.

LB. 3 entries (0 abs)

1. Mrs T Squires, Dashing Devils La Diva. Another I have judged and liked before, she won her class then also, typey bitch with good overall balance, well laid shoulders, short coupled, showed herself well with good head and tail carriage while maintaining a level topline.

2. Miss K Harpers, Westigo Cheeky Girl. Second to 1 when they met under me when I last judged and unlucky to come up against her again today, of sound construction and old fash-ioned in type, nice to go over and has a pretty feminine expression, moved true but could just be a little more animated.

OB. 5 entries (2 abs)

1. Mr S J Owens, Egremont Seventh Heaven, Yet another to have previously been judged by myself. On the last occasion she was awarded the Res CC. She did not disappoint today and was again on top form. Such a well put together bitch with movement to die for. In very good coat and looked a picture on the day. Pleased to award her the all important third CC. Pushed the dog hard for BOB.

2. Miss J Steemsons, Roxholm Reign Dance by Bocans. Strong cobby bitch presented in good trim, strong hind quarters, head could be bigger but mouth is fine, very attentive to owner and showed well.

VB. 2 entries (0 abs)

1. Mr G C & Mrs C E Windrams, Cochansa Dales Pride. What a nice girl, well proportioned 7 year old bitch, strong head, correct front assembly, in good harsh coat, moved out well with tail on top, a well deserved Best Veteran

2. Mrs P Gallops, Maedhlyn Summer Love. 9 year old bitch presented in hard condition while remaining very feminine to the eye, enjoyed her day and lost out to 1 on re
