WEST HIGHLAND WHITE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 22 Judge: Mr B Day VD (2,1) 1 Foster’s Ch Hillsted Masquerade at Thozow JW ShCM. Enough of him but a quality dog with a pleasing head and expression, although his ear could perhaps be a little thinner and a shade more pointed. Good for body and bone with a pleasing neckline and topline and angulation. Presented in a good jacket, he moved well. Best Veteran. 1 Thomson’s Ashgate Kelvin. Not the best in presentation but a beautifully balanced young dog, literally oozing bred type. I felt a very good head, and found a lovely dark eye, giving a typical expression. Nicely balanced in bone, with a super compact body, a good topline and a well-set tail of the correct size. Presented in a good double coat, I liked him a lot but ne was not quite as settled on the move as the open Dog and so RDCC today. 2 Burns & Burns’ Burneze Here Comes Trouble. A well-presented, stylish dog, not quite the head of 1 nor the expression I was looking for. Good for body, pleasing neckline and good topline. OK rear angulation and a stylish mover, not quite the jacket of 1. 1 Fox & Fox’s Hillsted Same Difference. A stylish dog with an acceptable head and a good eye. I would have preferred a shade more front angulation but he was good for body and bone. With well- muscled quarters, he moved well behind but not so good in front. Presented in an OK coat. 1 Foster’s Thozow Master Of The House. A stylish dog with an acceptable head and neat ears. Well bodied with and good strength of loin. Pleasing neckline and topline and well developed quarters. Good for coat texture, he moved well behind but not so good in front. 1 Zaccariello’s Ch & It Ch Violent Warrior Vertragus. A quality dog, making a superbly balanced outline. Lovely masculine head, with neat ears and a good expression. Good, compact body, with lovely ribbing and excellent bone. Nice tight elbows, with a well constructed forehand, he has a lovely flow of neck into a good topline. Strong quarters and a good jacket completed the picture. Nicely balanced with good angles front and rear that allowed him to move soundly. CC. 1 Gillott’s Lizandycris Izi Is A Belter. An appealing baby with a pretty head, neat ears, pleasing dentition and good pigment. Nice flow of neck into the topline of a well balanced body with well padded feet and one of the few with black toe nails today. Presented in a good jacket, she moved soundly. BP. 1 Burns & Burns Burneze Hello Dolly. An outgoing, typey puppy with a pretty head, neat ears and a good eye. Good flow of neck into a correctly ribbed body but I would have preferred a firmer topline and shorter coupling. Nicely muscled with her rear quarters but I would have preferred a shade more angulation. Well presented in a good coat, she moved true. 1 Griffiths Holiday Romance Vixen at Karamynd (Imp Pol) One that I liked just a few months ago as a puppy, and I have to say that I liked her even more today. Excellent breed type and so beautifully balanced all though, she really did fill the eye. Lovely well balanced head with neat ears and an eye giving a super expression. Well constructed in forehand with nice tight elbows. Correctly ribbed, well-coupled body, good topline, with a correct tail and set-on, well muscled quarters, and well padded feet, with black nails. Presented in a good textured jacket and nicely balanced in angulation, she moved soundly. Although just out of puppy, I am told that I had awarded her a fifth CC today, before going on to BOB. I was later delighted to see her win the Junior Group and go G4 in the Terrier Group. 1 Noyce & Noyce, Maxula Vanilla Ice Cream. A pretty headed bitch, with a good eye and pigment. Good for size and type, she pleased in body, topline and angulation. In a good jacket, she moved out well. 2 Foster’s I’d Do Anything. A generous bitch, making an impressive outline. OK head and expression, good for body and bone and well presented. Not moving quite as well as 1. 1 Smith’s Lingbeck Hold The Dream. A pretty headed bitch with a good expression and pigment, with nice dark toe nails. Good for size, with pleasing body and bone, nice flow of neck into a good topline, with a well-set tail. With nicely muscled quarters, she moved OK. 2 Gillott’s Fourastay Fidelina at Lizandycris. A shade longer cast than 1 and not quite the head or expression. Good for body and bone and nicely muscled quarters, but I would have preferred a firmer topline. Presented in an OK coat, she moved OK coming towards me but not so good going away. 1 Burns & Burns Ch Burneze Our Marnie. A well known bitch that I have seen on many occasions, and she stood out in this class with her lovely clean and balanced outline. Much has been written about her and quite rightly so as there is much to like about her. However, in the challenge today she lost out to a very good youngster moving more soundly and with better dentition. RCC. 2 Burns & Burns’ Ch Burneze All in One. Another that I liked as a puppy but my recollection is that she was a better size and more compact last year. Not quite the head or expression of 1, she has a good body, lovely bone and well muscled quarters, but I would have preferred a slightly firmer topline. Very well presented in an acceptable jacket, she moved OK in front but not so well behind. 3 Fox & Fox’s Hillsted Sweet Whisper.
