WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 17
Thank you to City of Birmingham for inviting me to judge my breed. Also thank you to my two super Stewards Bill and Tricia Gray who were very efficient in keeping me in order.
I was very disappointed in the heads of the majority of the exhibits today which I think since the last time I judged have not improved and neither has shoulder placement. Do consider these when choosing a puppy as they are important to the correct requirements of the breed, just read your Breed Standard before making your final decision.
VD (2)(1 Absent)
1st McLoughlin – Ley Hey Living Legend Sh.Cm – 12 ½ year old dog in good order, good nead, nice earset,
dark eye, good front well laid shoulders, moved well and smartly.
MPD (2)
Two really nice dog puppies who could change places at any time and I am sure will, both nicely presented with good heads, dark eye and stop, correct mouths, good hindquarters giving correct rear movement, difficult decision to make between them.
1st Minett – Duskhunter Ruff Diamond - BPD
2nd Gillott & Carlin – Lizandycris Paco Rooban
PD (1)
1ST Milner – Juanne Rufus the Ruffian – Stood alone today, good coat texture, well boned, coat
coming through, head ok with good mouth, moved ok but needs more practice to keep his
head up on the move as he loses his shape, gave his handler a hard time today I thought.
JD (3)
1st Britten – Krisma Jump Start – Nice quality dog overall but was not settled today and just for me
needed more coat to finish the picture. Lovely white jacket, good head and mouth and stop, dark eye, good neck running into well laid shoulders, level topline, moved correctly but gave his handler a
hard time today. CONGRATULATIONS ON BECOMING BEST JUNIOR IN SHOW ON THE LAST DAY
2nd Owens – Frisbeck Guitarman – Well boned and made dog with good head, pigment, mouth
and stop giving him the correct expression also good earset. Straight front and well laid
shoulders, super white coat in abundance, well made hindquarters which he used to his
advantage when moving.
3rd Bartley – Atelib The General
GD (1)
1ST Dale – Lynnsto Special Agent – Nice exhibit and presented to perfection as always from this exhibitor,
super head, stop, pigment and mouth. Good shoulders and front such a pity he seemed spooked
today but understand he was getting over a bad experience recently, hope he gets over his fear.
PGD (3)(1)
1st Squires – The Dashing Devil’s Macho Man – Short backed cobby dog. Would prefer a larger
skull for a male, correct mouth, shoulders placement, front and hindquarters. Moved out
well with erect tail and level topline around the ring, his showmanship won him the class.
2nd McLoughlin – Ley Hey Local Laddie – Lovely headed dog with good dentition, white coat in
good order, well laid shoulders and front, moved ok.
LD(5)(2)
1st Purchon – Lindenka I’m Dexter – Super headed dog as always from this kennel always so sound
and fits the standard for construction. Excellent mouth, eye, stop and earset, lovely neckline
running into well laid shoulders, correct hindquarters and tailset, moved and showed well for
his handler but his topline let him down in the challenge today. His day will come. RCC
