West Highland White Terriers

Thank you to the exhibitors for an excellent entry. I so enjoyed my day & was delighted to find some good WHWT, especially in the bitch classes. I am sure placements could change on another day.

We still have the small teeth in the breed that I feel needs watching as this usually, but not always, goes with a weak underjaw. Heads/teeth do need to be considered.

I was pleased with most of the shoulder placements, much improved, no skin problems.

My DCC & BOB was all I look for in the breed. The correct size, so full of breed type, balanced head of correct proportions, good sized teeth. The most cleanest of shoulders, short firm body, tail set on & held on the move. A crisp white straight coat with correct undercoat & perfect feet. He commands attention with his showmanship. He knows he is a West Highland & in the group he never stopped showing. Received G3 & I personally feel he is deserving of even higher. One to watch out for. I loved him. His second CC I was told later, handled by Sue Thompson & owned by Carmichael. Can Windacre Ready To Rhumble.

BCC was different in coat, to be critical too much for me on hindquarters & undercarriage. Steemson’s Bocans Hot Stuff, beautiful feminine head, correct expression, ears well placed, correct bite. Straight front, well padded feet. The shortest of backs, held topline & tailset on the move. Good angulation & moved out well. A little lumpy on top of shoulders showing age but well placed. Cannot believe her crown was given only today but proof that some last. Delighted to have given her that 3rd CC, well done.

BP was the dog, Purchon’s Lindenka Chesterman, such a lot to like about this smart young man who is very promising. Not surprising to see his sire is "Prank”. So sound on the move & standing, lovely head & expression, ears set on & dark eye. Correct front & angulation, lovely feet, moved with confidence.

BV, the dog, McLoughlin’s Ley Hey Living Legend, super headpiece, correct stop, large bite, held topline on the move. Firm in hocks. Enjoying his day out, moved well for his proud mum.

VD (2,1a)

1 BV, McLoughlin’s Ley Hey Living Legend, as per notes above.

MPD (1)

1 Bradbury’s Gelmoore Midwinter Magic, nice sort with large perfect teeth. Needs to firm in front & coat needs more attention but overall a nice soft. Excellent pigmentation, lovely temperament.

PD (2,1)

1 BP, Purchon’s Lindenka Chesterman, as per notes above.

JD (2)

Promising boys, both well balanced.

1 Dale’s Hopecharm Edd Turner at Lynnsto, super head, large teeth, good reach of neck & held topline on the move. In good coat & condition, straight front;

2 West & West’s Tomlyndon Eager Ernest, super head, correct shoulders, moved out well, good pigmentation.

GD (1)

1 Windram’s Louie Conquistador, pleasing head. Would like more pigmentation. Held topline on the move, tail set on correct, firm hocks.

PGD (4,1)

Two very strong headed boys with correct large bites.

1 Dale’s Lynnsto Candyman, super reach of neck into good shoulders, good coat texture & colour, moved well;

2 Budge’s Charmedautum Dazzle, short backed, firm in topline, good hindquarters. Just preferred shoulders of 1; 3 Bartley’s Yushama Shooting Star Atelib.

LD (8,3)

1 Gale’s Bocans Bolt To Bellevue, excellent head, large teeth & correct pigmentation. Prefer his shoulders. Needs to body up. Held a firm level topline on the move. Very promising. Should make up. RCC;

2 Steemson, Clements & Judge-Ford’s Bocans Blade, excellent head, large teeth & correct pigmentation. Stronger in head, in full coat, excellent moving boy. Drive from firm hocks. Also promising;

3 Hughes’ Brychdyn Diamond Geezer.

OD (7,1)

1 CC & BOB, Carmicheal’s Can Windacre Ready To Rhumble, as per notes above;

2 Noyce’s Ch Maxula Name Of The Game, another super dog with good head. Dark eye, correct expression, correct shoulders, short firm topline held on the move, correct coat texture;

3 Purchon’s Lindenka Donovan.

GCD (1)

VB (0).

MPB (6)

Lovely class.

1 Ash’s Charosmack Clear Icicle with Hillcloud & 2 Minett’s Matheron Connex Again with Duskhunter. 1 had the better head at the moment. Both had correct shoulders & firm short back, well angulated in hindquarters & both well presented. Promising girls;

3 Dale’s Lynnsto Go With The Flo.

PB (5,2)

1 Thomson’s Dylandougie Ayr to Ashgate & 2 Sweetzer’s Ambalasi Pick ‘N’ Mix. Another super class with time on their side. Well balanced, lovely head, correct pigmentation. Prefer shoulders on 1 & hindquarters on 2. Pretty girls;

3 Stock’s Lindenka Treacle Toffee.

JB (4)

1 Macbean’s Pryorvale Whisper & 2 Davison’s Braxquin Forget Me Not. Correct heads again on these. Short firm toplines, well sprung ribs. 1 moved better from firmer hocks. Loved her tail set on.

2 better presented coat texture & colour & pigmentation. However two promising juniors;

3 Harper’s Westigo Cheeky Girl.

GB (2)

1 Foster & Foster’s Thozow Forget Me Not & 2 Bacon’s Reifrandies Furzey at Cabon. Two well presented bitches, correct coat colour & texture. Feminine head, good for size, well placed ears. 1 was firmer in topline & better in shoulder with correct length of upper arm.

PGB (3,1)

1 McLoughlin’s Llovall Look Here Ley Hey & 2 Windram’s Carlola Showgirl. Another pair of pretty girls, both with straight coats. Loved the head & feet of 1 & short body, both held firm topline on the move. Good presentation on both. Well handled.

LB (9,2)

1 Morton’s Swifdon Stormy Days & 2 Minett’s Matheron For’n Affair with Duskhunter. Super class, full of promise. Once 1 settled she moved out so well. Alas in the challenge she dragged her feet. Loved the bone & strength but without losing her femininity. Both had correct heads with stops & good pigmentation. Small ears;

3 Mealing’s Reifrandies Mairne.

OB (7,2)

Fantastic class.

1 CC, Steemson’s Bocans Hot Stuff, as per notes above;

2 Morton’s Brychdyn Carrie On Swifdon, correct head, shoulders & feet, well balanced, moving out well. Unlucky to meet 1 today, just preferred the super hindquarters of winner;

3 Gaydon’s Ch Gilbri Town Tease.

GCB (1)

1 L Look Here Ley Hey, a lot of nice qualities, well presented coat, correct reach of neck, lovely outline on the move.
