WEST HIGHLAND WHITE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 13 Judge: Mr G Bob Milner BEST OF BREED : 5246 SMITH Mrs V Ch Faymar Fine Romance WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 13 West Highland White Terriers Just two suspect mouths which I do not wish to individually highlight, please be aware that this major fault will almost always at all competitive levels result in a placing towards the lower end of the Standard points scale, this simply because of giving towards 15 per cent away is very disadvantaged. VD (2) 1 Budge’s Rozamie Icicle, 7 years, smart upstanding male with good head, strong jaw, good teeth, well presented with good outline, well carried tail, reached out well in front & covered the ground soundly. MPD (5) 1 Lilley & Milling’s Krisma Line Dancer at Lilmill, nicely presented with pleasing outline that was retained when moving, sturdy type with good skull, nice length of neck correct bite, dark eye & neat ears, close coupled, moved out well fore & aft. BP; 2 Gale’s Bocans Bolt to Bellevue, a promising youngster with dark pigment & a dark well shaped eye, very alert guy with a keen expression, correct bite, sound overall, a pleasing picture stacked & when asked to move; 3 Dale’s Lynnsto Candyman. PD (3) 1 Purchon’s Lindenka Frazer, settled quickly when entering with his tail held high, balanced with a good jacket & level topline, straight in front, good mouth, keen expression, close coupled rearquarters, moved straight & true while showing well; 2 Sweetzer’s Amberlasi Splash And Dash, moved & showed well, strong head, strong jaw, sound bite, good for bone, deep in rib, strong rearquarters; 3 Bartley’s Yushama Shooting Star. JD (4) 1 Corri’s Inverglen Lowe N Behold, moved with purpose, strong dog with a good outline, cobby overall, short coupled body with good rearquarters, & muscle & angulation, well proportioned head with a good bite, correct eye & ear placement, dark pigment; 2 Judge’s Bocans Positive Profile, attentive & used his ears well, wanted to please, symmetrical in outline when stacked & on the move, carried his tail well. GD (2) 1 Windram’s Leonardo Ventura, young dog maturing up well, strong head to fill your hand, dark pigment, dark eye with a large black nose, strong jaw & teeth, coat texture coming through nicely, moved out free & easy. PGD (3) 1 Purchon’s Lindenka Donovan, looked the part as he entered, I was not swayed in any way when stacked on the table or indeed when later returning to the floor which he covered with ease; 2 Budge’s Charmedautum Dazzle, not disappointing in any way, he has a number of points to his credit. Nice type with a good profile when stacked, again a pleasing front & rear assembly which was highlighted with forward reach & rear drive; 3 Stock’s Lindenka Baxter. LD (9) 1 Corri’s Inverglen Lord Of The Manor, another deep chested & cobby exhibit from this kennel. Displays a strong well proportioned head, good bite, correct eye & ear placement & a good stop, level topline both stacked & on the move where his rearquarters gained the advantage; 2 Storey’s Nossimp Written In The Stars, this one was pleasing on the eye also, very well presented, balanced overall with a keen expression, strong jaw & a good bite, straight in front, good rearquarters, compact short coupled body; 3 Hughes’ Brychden Diamond Geezer. OD (5) 1 West’s Tomlyndon Spoilt Rotten, this one paints for me a frame that catches my eye. Very nicely balanced all through, I could turn him upside down & he would still look the part. Head is well balanced with the remaining conformation of his body, jet black nose, good bite, well spaced eye & neat ears, correct layback & a short close coupled body set onto the correct length of leg, all completed with that required little spare behind the tail. CC; 2 Metcalfe’s Flassendale Fairlie, I was attracted to this one also, another impressive type put down to perfection, also well balanced both fore & aft, sports a well proportioned head, good bite & displays that required alert expression, nice run through towards a good topline that was retained when asked to move. RCC; 3 Fox’s Hillsted Same Again. VB (1) 1 Windram’s Cassara Princess, 9 years & showing very happily, good head, well defined stop, compact body, well handled, free & easy mover beneath a correctly coated white jacket. PB (3) 1 Foster’s Thozow Forget Me Not, beautiful class of happy movers headed by my eventual winner who displayed an attractive take me home yet keen piercing expression from within a pair of well spaced dark eyes. Well proportioned head with good teeth & neat nicely set on ears, good profile stacked & moving, very nicely presented; 2 Minett’s Matheron For’n Affair with Duskhunter, much to admire about this one also who possessed her own individual qualities. Also very easy on the eye, well prepared, & it was a close call when placing her second; 3 Hunt’s Kellethrigg Lucky Charm. JB (2) 1 Owen’s Egremont Seventh Heaven, presented a good front view on the table & a pleasing profile stacked, straight front, pleasing head, dark eye & neat ears, nice in shoulder, short in back & close coupled rearquarters, free & easy on the move; 2 Ladham’s Juraspirit Jonquil. PGB (8) 1 Lancaster’s Clanestar Cloud Chaser, pleasing & straight front profile with feminine head, good mouth, dark eye & neat ears, good in neck & shoulder, level back with broad rearquarters & well set on tail carriage, nice coat well presented; 2 Davison’s Braxquin Beginning A Dream, this one also was not disappointing to go over. Well bodied, deep in chest, in good coat, has a strong head, wide jaw & good teeth, well presented, moved out well both front & rear; 3 Storey’s Nossimp Oly Girl In Command. LB (6) 1 Morton’s Brychdyn Carrie On Swifdon, really looked the part sporting a strong head, good teeth, dark pigment, well set ears & a nice shape in front, nice length of leg with good rib carriage & short coupled body with well set tail, free flowing mover. RCC; 2 Edmondson’s Pepabby Pirouette, another well turned out exhibit of a nice type who was looking good in front & when viewed in profile. Alert she has an attractive feminine head, good eye spacing & the correct bite, covered the ground with ease when asked to move; 3 Hayton’s Pedrohay Silver Magnolia. OB (5) 1 Smith’s Ch Faymar Fine Romance, a great deal has been said before about this quality bitch who has little more to prove. When she strides out the whole ring belongs to her individual ring presence, all of which became especially evident again as I later watched the huge terrier group ringside cheer erupt in support of yet another great G1 triumph. Just a great pity that only a handful of exhibitors were on hand to witness, support & enjoy another magnificent historical breed occasion. CC, BOB & G1; 2 Fox’s Ch Comdale Miss January at Hillsted, this exhibit was without doubt a very strong contender for my RCC. Has an abundance of quality & emerged with much credit from within the surroundings of very good company, nicely presented, painted a pleasing picture with an attractive well proportioned head with dark pigment & a good bite, straight front, compact in body, level topline, close coupled with good tailset; 3 Britten’s Krisma Storm In A Teacup.
