WEST HIGHLAND WHITE TERRIER

VD (3,1)

1 Davison's Anotonia Apple Pie at Braxquin, such a handsome headed 7 years old in super coat and a real stallion air. Bright as a button in expression, big ribs, fairly short coupled and he really drives himself around the ring. Very good pigmentation.

2 McLoughlin's Ley Hey Living Legend, out of a smaller mould, Certainly compact, well ribbed, not quite the reach of neck of the winner but his head handles well and his eyes are a good colour. Harsh jacket but not the free flowing stride of the winner.

MPD (4)

1 Thomson's Ashgate Gleneouraich I thought him to be very promising. Nice size, so well boned, excellent skull and stop definition. Very good mouth of ample breadth, sturdy ribcage and tail bang on top. He played his handler up in front action, but I put that down to sheer testosterone puppyness and he was just showing off.

2 Gillott & Carlin's Lizandycris Check Me Out, another with lots to like. Compact he assuredly is, excellent reach of neck and outline with that tail so well set and carried. Not so finished in muzzle weight as the winner and not yet his forechest. However, he was the more settled of the two in front action so it was a decision which could have gone either way.

3 Claridge's Sunniwhite Fitz the Bill.

PD (3)

1 & BP Purchon's Lidenka Donovan. I thought he was extremely promising even though coat still changing. Loved his reach of neck and outline, big ribcage, so short coupled, well muscled rump and good tail set. His head is a delight and would be even more appealing if he would use his ears more! They are dark, well spaced and very expressive. What coat he had was spotless, the furnishings were ample and he is so sound in action.

2 Dale's Lynnsto Truly Special, another ever so promising young man which really took my eye on the stack. Using that good neck to advantage, so well bodied and ribbed, hindquarters supple and well muscled and he has such an engaging expression. Close up to the winner which just had the edge for me in being more purposeful in hock action.

3 McLoughlin's Ley Hey Latest Legend.

JD (3,1)

1 Jennings' Comdale Johnny Boy, such a sound moving glamour boy with bags of style and immaculate in presentation. Medium sized, beautiful head, eyes and expression, well arched lengthy neck flowing into good shoulders and a well developed ribcage. Tail spot on and he powered around the ring with real gusto. Surely has a bright future and I see he is a son of the BOB winner.

2 Rooer's Niroka Breaking Dawn in Jusbar, not quite in the outstanding coat of the winner nor quite his tightness in backline. Nice head, very good eyes for size and colour, short coupled and well muscled hams. Side action is balanced but he is somewhat loose in front when for viewed.

GD (2,1)

1 Hayton's Pedrohay Roberto nice for size and weight of bone. Pleasing head, good mouth, very good eyes, ears could be neater but his expression pleases. He is well bodied. Back level and tail well carried. I would like more hock angulation but despite that his side action is balanced.

PGD (2,1)

1 Storey's Nossimp Written in the Stars, harsh coated, well presented jacket on this nicely sized fellow. Very good skull, ample stop, strong muzzle and very good mouth. Certainly short backed, he used his neck well and went around the ring showing some reach and drive.

LD (10,2)

1 Dale's Something Special Superbia Lynnsto (Imp). What a stylish a very appealing dog this is. Flawless in presentation of his gleaming white harsh coat enhanced by his excellent pigmentation. His head is lovely, the eyes well spaced and almost jet in colour and he has such neat ears. Sufficient angulation both ends he showed an easy stepping, sound stride. A strong contender in the challenge.

2 Fox's Hillsted Same Again, this one is certainly short backed, sturdy in construction, big ribs and very good sternum. Nice head, so well furnished with a lovely muzzle and big nose. His body coat is so harsh to the touch and he circled the ring with a good, balanced action.

3 Gillott & Carlin's Lizandycris Devlin Disguise.

OD (4,2)

1, CC, BOB & G3 Britten's Ch Walk the Line Vom Deipen Brook to Krisma (Imp). I just adored his outline the second he stacked in the ring. That long neck, so angled that it flows cleanly into well laid shoulders, over the withers and across a dead level back to a real rump and well set tail, all in one continuous flowing line. His head is lovely, the mouth correct, blackest of pigmentation and a delightful expression. Expertly presented he moved out with vigour and energy.

2 & Res CC Lewis' Ch Lynnsto Man About Town ShCM. Another exciting dog and so worthy of being crowned. He is so well put together in construction, lovely ribbing, well muscled hindquarters and a good tail set. Another so harsh in coat which was spotless and he too moved out easily. In the end I felt that the winner just had the edge in impact for me on account of that stunning neckline.

Good Cit D (1)

1 Fletcher-Kings' Kellbany White Wizard at Ley Hey. Compact little chap, bags of substance, well ribbed and bodied, tail bang on and he has a pleasing eye and expression. Steps short in side action but he is sound and looks like he could go all day.

VB (4,3)

1 Fletcher-King's Kellbany White Wizard at Ley Hey, sweet faced little madam whose attitude, light action and non stop wagging tail belied her 8 years. Pleasing head, well bodied, the brightest of eyes and she travelled around the ring with real gusto.

MPB (6)

1 Kabel & Bouwhuis' Llovall All It Takes and 2 McLoughlin's Llovall Look Here Hey Ley, litter sisters which are offspring of Ch Pepabby Prank. They are fairly compact in shape, good size and substance, the winner being firmer in backline. They have harsh jackets, move out reasonably well and are very well ribbed. I gave the winner the nod on having a shade better foreface finish but they could swop places anytime.

3 Claridge's Alexie With Us at Sunniwhite.

PB (3)

1 & BPB Britten's Krisma Storm in a Teacup. A touch of glamour in this pretty youngster. So showy, expertly presented and handled, excellent make and shape and a stunning outline on the stack. Her head is a delight, strength with an air of quality from beautiful eyes and neat ears. Very balanced and purposeful side action and was close up for BP. I'm sure we will hear more of this one.

2 Dale's Lynnsto That'll Do Nicely, another which I am sure will make her mark on the breed. Again has that air of good breeding and class with a certain style in deportment that depicts terrier confidence and assurance. So well constructed, excellent ribbing, level back and a delightful headpiece. Not quite as settled in front action as the winner, but her time will come.

3 Miller's Pauljons Princess Cassie.

JB (7,1)

1 Dale's Lynnsto Eye Candy, such a stylish little bitch of immense charm in head and expression. She is really well ribbed, short in loin, level in back and a good tail set completes a lovely outline. Her presentation was immaculate and she moved around the ring showing reach and drive. Great prospect.

2 Noyce's Maxula Box of Tricks. I recall her as the tail chaser as this quality bitch seemed intent on getting close enough to the bitch in front of her on the go around, much to my amusement. Handles so well on the table, good skull, well defined eyebrows, dark eyes are well spaced and she has a good reach of neck. Shapely and compact, she was in excellent coat. Side action fine but not the firmness in front of the winner.

3 Hooper's Yorsar Betsy Rose.

GB (1)

1 Hayton's Pedrohay Silver Magnolia, nice for size, pleasing skull, ears a bit too low set, good eye colour, enough neck, level in back, shade long in loin and she is sound enough on the move. Shown in really harsh coat.

PGB (7,4)

1 Fox's Comdale Miss January at Hillsted, another lovely type of bitch which I see is again by Ch P. Prank. I loved her head, eyes, ears and expression, aided by such good pigmentation. Has a moirE9 than decent reach of neck which aids her cause, her ribcage is fine and she is pretty short in coupling. So well presented and on the move she showed a positive and purposeful action as she circled the ring.

2 Storey's Nossimp Only Girl in Command will always attract a second look by virtue of her head and expression, which are so pleasing. Ample neck, not quite the layback in shoulder of the winner and never settled to be quite as smooth in action as they circled the ring, although she showed plenty of rear thrust. Again harsh in jacket which was well presented.

3 Nas' Bellvue Foreign Affair.

LB (7,2)

1 Jennings' Comdale Starr, interesting to see that she is litter sister to the winner of the PGB. She was another with the impact factor when my eyes caught her on the stack. Compact, well ribbed, super neck and backline leading to a poker straight tail. Hocks not over extended completing that lovely eye catching shape. I loved her head and expression from such well spaced, very dark and alive eyes. Neat ears aid the cause and her jacket was harsh a spotless. Impressive profile action.

2 DavisonBraxquin Beginning A Dream, this very attractive headed bitch was so close up. She is at her best on the move, holding that compact shape, reaching and driving with such purpose and good head carriage. Again such good presentation and she tried her heart out. I just felt in separating these two quality bitches, that the first had that tad cleaner line from the neck over the withers.

3 Smith's Lingback Playing the Lady.

OB (11,3)

Best class of the day.

1 & CC Smith's Faymar A Fine Romance, a beguiling charmer which ticked all the boxes for me and whenever my gaze caught her, she always looked the part. Super head, eyes and ears, the darkest of pigmentation, large nose, great reach of neck and that well ribbed, compact body with depth through the loin, great tail and well muscled hams. A lesson in presentation she never stopped trying and on the move she was almost showing off her power and well being. As she circled the ring with the BOB and BP I was a very happy man!

2 & Res CC Dale's Lynnsto Platinum JW, another right out of the top drawer and I believe sitting on 2 CCs. She too is a class act, was a pleasure to handle and like all exhibits from this handler, impeccably presented. Pretty, ultra feminine in head and expression, yet sturdy and strong throughout. On the move she shows power from her hocks and I hope that deserved 3rd CC is not too far away.

3 Gillott & Carlin's Lizanycris Aint She Grand completed a stunning trio of top class bitches.

GCB (1)

1 Andrews' Kellethrigg Christmas Rose at Rupann, small, lighter boned little person but so full of character, happy as can be, loved every minute under the spotlight and was there to please her handler. Certainly compact, harsh in coat and that tail never stopped wagging. Must be a joy to own.
