WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 10

West Highland White Terriers

VD (2)

1 Jennings’ Ch Comdale Action Man, 7 year old substantial dog, well presented & in good condition, correctly angulated, hard coat, excellent head & demonstrably good movement;

2 Geldart’s Gelmoore Spin Doctor, 8 year old with straight front & again well made head. Although balanced, not quite angulation or movement of 1.

MPD (2,1a)

1 Vaughan’s Yorsar Spirit O’ The Glen, just 6 months with decent coat, lovely head & expression plus excellent pigmentation.

PD (2)

1 Dale’s Lynnsto Goldcard, very typical male head with strong expression, well angulated, coat of good texture & length, kept well set & just short enough tail on top, showed well. BPD;

2 Gilmartin’s Colla Super Smart via Lough Allen, lovely straight front. Not as strong as 1 in other departments.

JD (3)

1 Edmondson’s Pepabby Prank, nicely proportioned, well made with particularly impressive rear development, excellent head & ears, coat of correct length & texture, movement true & purposeful. Habitual lean is off putting;

2 Gillott & Carlin’s Lizandycris Out To Play, excellent front end construction, not too wide throughout, good coat, goes well;

3 Taylor’s Flassendale Fairlie.

GD (1)

1 Budge’s Charmedautum Dazzle, decently made with large well proportioned head, hard straight coat, level topline, moved true.

PGD (7)

1 Tullis’ Drumsheugh True Grit, good honest, balanced dog to go over, nothing hidden by sculpted furnishings, good head & expression, correct front with straight legs, decent angulation & well let down hocks, coat is hard all over, moves true keeping level topline;

2 Noyce’s Maxula Name Of The Game, lovely head, level topline, straight hard coat & better movement than those behind him;

3 Skelton’s Faymar Free Agent.

LD (11,3)

1 West’s Karamynd Playing Away at Tomlyndon, won under me previously as MP & has turned out even better than I expected, pointless to list everything I liked & will just say lovely dog, showed & moved well, when it came down to it, expression won him CC & BOB;

2 Griffiths’ Karamynd Play It Again, obviously close in type to 1, many of the same qualities, easy to see why those with different preferences would reverse placings. Came down to length of tail & hindquarter development;

3 Purchon‘s Lindenka Sullivan.

OD (7)

1 Gordon’s Ch Lamsmore Fitzwritin, great dog, showing & moving well, immaculately presented as always, so why RCC? Yes, I gave a reason above & I know this is the hoariest cliché, but on another day it could have gone the other way. RCC;

2 Atkins’ Kimgarwyn Crusader at Abercroft, quality dog in great condition, forehand construction will last him well, plus goes well;

3 Fox’s Hillsted Step By Step.

GCD (1)

1 Fletcher-King’s Kellbany White Wizard at Ley Hey, decent dog, particularly good in forequarters, hard coat & nice short tail, moved well.

VB (3)

1 Smith’s Ch Burneze Just Anny Lusion at Lorbri, still well made & very brisk moving at 9 years old. Maybe age has highlighted slight dip behind shoulders;

2 Andrews’ Rupann Silver Charm, I said over 4 years ago she had construction that would last to an even older age & here she is at 12 years, saving me from eating my words, still going well & kept correct bite into the bargain;

3 Windram’s Barnwin Im Daisy May.

MPB (7,4)

All had good fronts & coats. Both 1 & 2 moved well with confidence but had head issues.

1 Purchon’s Montrose by Lindenka, preferred her earset & backend construction;

2 Fox’s Hillsted Suhana, preferred her muzzle length;

3 Gillott & Carlin’s Lizandycris Aint She Grand.

PB (3)

1 Dale’s Lynnsto Platinum, same comments apply as litter brother, just preferred her head. BP;

2 Milner’s Rozamie Merry Go Round by Juanne, not quite head & expression of 1. Very good backend. Looks better on the move than when stacked;

3 Pike’s Caromagic Shooting Star.

JB (7,1)

1 Gilmartin’s Lough Allen Rising Star, well made with excellent forequarters, good head. Looked bit wary at times, may just have been deficit of hair in front of eyes. It certainly didn’t show when moving as it was free & easy movement that won her class;

2 Ladhams & Rudd’s Juraspirit Mint Julep, decent headed with good coat, strong hindquarters, goes well. Not front of 1;

3 Claridge’s Hillcloud Echo with Ashgate.

GB (5,3)

1 Andrews’ Kellethrigg Christmas Rose at Rupann, neat, went well, kept level topline, lovely straight front. Not just so good behind;

2 Ladhams & Rudd’s Lynnsto Make It High Life for Juraspirit, better behind. Can see where daughter got front from.

PGB (8)

1 Lilley & Milling’s Lilmill Potty Dotty, decent head with good expression when uses ears. Carrying too much hair on front legs in particular especially when has decent front anyway. Lovely backend with short tail, went very well keeping level topline;

2 Tullis’ Drumsheugh White Mischief, neater, carried much less leg hair showing off lovely straight front, again kept level topline. Hindquarters not as good. Exceptionally good head & expression;

3 Andrews’ Kellethrigg Christmas Rose at Rupann.

LB (10,4)

1 Griffiths’ Karamynd Drama Queen, said when I judged her & other siblings previously that attitude & expressions were exceptional, thankfully has kept that attitude as it makes all the difference when up against others of such quality. CC;

2 Ash’s Hillcloud Drizzle, lovely bitch, beautifully made & showing really well. Just preferred narrower front of 1;

3 Lilley & Milling’s Lilmill Giv Me Your Answer Do.

OB (7,2)

1 Jennings’ Llovall As Mama Said to Comdale, balanced, good construction, lovely head & expression under all that hair, moves well & true. RCC;

2 Persson & Liljeberg’s Dan/Sw Vogrie Lizzie Bryce by Hopecharm, not expression of 1. Exceptional hindquarter development; 3 Coley’s Karamynd On Cue for Kingsview.

GCB (2)

1 K Christmas Rose at R;

2 R Silver Charm.
