WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE BOURNEMOUTH 26

It's been a few years since I last judged the breed, entries may have dropped in numbers but I had some quality dogs under me. My main concern is front movement and its construction, I found quite a few were upright in shoulder and therefore lacked the reach required. Pigmentation was good in all exhibits & presentation was in most very good. PD (1) 1 Burns Bellevue Deal Breaker For Burneze. I liked this smart youngster, he has a masculine outlook. Nice head shape, good dark eye and good sized teeth. Well placed ears, lovely reach of neck blending into a level back. Straight front, needs to tighten in movement, good depth of body. Well made hindquarters with a correct tailset. Moves with drive. In a quality coat that was well prepared, showing well, he was my BP. Happy to hear he took PG4. JD (1) 1 Thompson's Ashgate Falkirk. Nice for size & overall balance. Good head, nicely filled muzzle, good stop & well placed ears. Good reach of neck, good front. Nicely ribbed & short in back. Strong in hindquarters, with a correct tailset. Coat of good texture, could have been trimmed better. Smart mover. PGD (2,1) 1 Thompson's Ashgate Falkirk LD (1) Fox's Hillsted Same Direction. Nice sized boy, good in head with the desired dark eye. Straight in front, good length of neck with a level back. Mature in body, well made hindquarters with a good tailset. I liked his balanced shape. Not too keen on the table, but on the floor he is a different dog, good mover both ways. OD (2) 1 Burns Burneze Let's Be Frank. Came saw and conquered. Upstanding young male. Takes your eye, I liked his overall shape and balanced outline. He has a very pleasing head, well defined stop with dark eyes, nicely placed ears. Straight in front, good depth of body. Excellent reach of neck that runs into his short level back & with a correct tailset. Well made hindquarters which gives him plenty of drive. Showing well & top class presentation. CC & BOB, pleased to hear this was his 3rd CC, he then went on to win the Terrier Group. (His second one) 2 Britten's Bellevue Lucky Devil At Krisma. A nice looking boy, slightly smaller than 1. Nice head, dark well placed eyes, good ear placement & defined stop. Good neck with a level back. Deep in body with the desired ribbing, correct tailset. In shorter coat than 1, preferred the front of 1. Showed steadily. RCC. VD (1) 1 Gale's Bellevue Street Trader. 7 years, nice honest type of male. Really has a nice head type, correct ear placement, well defined stop. Mature in body, correct tailset. He had pleasing movement both ways. In a quality coat & showed steadily. VB (1) 1 Fox's Ch Hillsted Sweet Whispers. 8 years, very happy & lively lady. Nice for type & for overall shape. Feminine expressive head, good in neck & shoulders, nice straight front. Nicely made mature body, correct tailset with good hindquarters, good mover both ways. In nice condition with a good quality coat. Showing well. BV MPB (1) 1 Gale's Shaunteves Snapshot. Just 6 months & very much a baby, saying that I was impressed with the way she behaved. Good head for her age, plenty of time for it to develop, good reach of neck & straight front. Good body, correct tailset. In nice coat & went well for a baby. PB (1) 1 Burns Burneze All On My Todd. What a lovely puppy, she has very good breed type. I liked her keen expressive head, good in neck & shoulders. Level back with correct tailset. Good in body, she has a very nice turn of stifle. In a quality harsh coat, lively mover & showed well. In the challenge I was drawn to her balanced outline, RCC. LB (2) 1 Gale's Bellevue Jump For Joy At Bocans. She has a nicely balanced shape. Nice feminine head & expression. Good reach of neck & level back. Straight front, mature well made body of good depth. Good turn of stifle & correct tailset. In a good coat & moves steadily both ways. 2 Thompson's Hillcloud Echowave By Ashgate. Another nice girl to go over, she has a well balanced shape. Alert expressive head. Good length of neck, straight front. Mature in body, well made hindquarters. Has a nice harsh coat, moved steadily. OB (2) 1 Cooper's Bellevue Lucky Love At Brorastar. I looked at this bitch when she entered the ring & thought what an honest type of WHW she was. On going over her I wasn't disappointed. She has a nicely balanced outline, nice feminine head, good stop & a dark expressive eye. Good length of neck, level in back with correct tailset. Good in front, mature in body with well made hindquarters. One of the best movers of the day. Carrying a good quality well prepared coat, nice showgirl. Delighted to award her the CC, her second I was told afterwards. 2 Burns Ch Burneze Maid To Measure. A top quality girl, I just preferred the topline & movement of 1. Excellent head & expression, mature body & correct tailset. Well made hindquarters which she uses well, would have liked a more positive front action. In super coat & presentation as were all the dogs from this exhibitor.
