WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE BOSTON 23

JD (1)

1. Bouwhuis & Hamilton’s Llovall Adam at Ladyleigh. 17 mth old standing alone here but appealed for overall type and presented a compact outline. Neck of correct length to balance, firm topline, ribbed well back, short loin and tail correct for both set and carriage. Masculine headpiece with slight dome to skull, distinct stop, good eye for colour and placement and small ears of correct set. Soundly constructed and stands straight in front and firm well-made hindquarters. Moving freely with self-assured carriage. Good quality coat and well pigmented throughout. Still not yet fully mature but my choice for Best Dog & BOB today.

PGD (2)

1. Szulzycka’s Querubin New Gryffindor. 13 mth old who won this class with some room to spare. He presented a pleasing outline with muscular neck, firm topline, rib developing well for age, short loin and tail good for both set and carriage. Attractive head with distinct stop, dark expressive eyes which are set wide apart, nice small ears, strong jaws and scissor bite. Good angles both ends and really moves out well on the go around. Jacket of good texture but some discolouration on feet.

2. Bartley’s Atelib Master Flash. 2 yr old with a pretty good outline; strong neck of correct length to balance, short level back and tail of good set and carriage. Masculine head with slightly domed skull, good stop, nice eye and ear and correct dentition. Would like to see a better spring of rib. Moves well on the down and back but not angulation of winner and therefore not so good on the go around. Coat colour not his fortune.

OD (1)

1. Bradbury’s Ch Fourastay Fontayne JW. 4 yr old with lots to like. Quality headpiece with masculine expression; well proportioned with slight dome to skull, distinct stop, dark eyes which are set wide apart, nice small ears, strong jaws, scissor bite and excellent pigmentation. Muscular neck, firm topline, sufficient spring of rib, tad longer in loin and tail correct for both set and carriage. Nice layback of shoulder, elbows close to the body and stands nice and straight in front. Firm muscular hindquarters. Moving well all through with particularly good profile action. Jacket of good texture. Reserve Best Dog.

PB (5)

1. Carlin & Gillott’s Lizandycris Izi Is A Belter. Rather diverse class. For me, the first two were the best for overall type and my winner was this 11 mth old. She presented a pleasing outline with strong neck of correct length to provide balance, nice short back, firm topline, short loin and tail set on well with acceptable carriage. Balanced head with feminine expression; slightly domed skull, good stop, nice eye and ear, scissor bite and well pigmented all through. Moving freely on the down and back and ok on the go around. Good coat and well handled. Best Puppy.

2. Storey’s Lizandycris The New Hope. This 7 mth old is another with lots to like but in need of a little more socialisation. Of pleasing type and feminine all through. Nicely proportioned head with slightly domed skull, distinct stop, dark expressive eyes, small ears of good set and scissor bite. Strong neck, good length to ribcage, topline needs to firm up a tad, short loin and tail of good set and carriage. Good angles front and rear and moves well with particularly good side gait.

3. Bartley’s Atelib Enigma Code

JB (1)

1. Bouwhuis’ Llovall All by My Self. 17 mth old bitch who unfortunately was somewhat out of coat on the day. However, she has plenty of qualities, is feminine all through and scored for type. She is nice and compact with strong neck of correct length to balance, level topline, ribbed well back, deep chest, nice short loin and tail of good set and carriage. Nicely proportioned head, distinct stop, dark expressive eyes placed wide apart, small ears and correct dentition. Soundly built and carrying good bone. Moving well all through with particularly strong hind action. Very nice pigmentation. Reserve Best Bitch.

PGB (1)

1. Szulzycka’s Newvoldemort Prada. 3 yr old who has much to like and pleased for overall type. Feminine headpiece with slightly domed skull, good stop, eye of good shape and placement but could be a tad darker, muzzle of correct length to balance, strong jaws, good dentition and nice dark pigmentation. Strong neck, short back with pretty good topline, good ribbing, firm loin and tail good for set and carriage. Pleasing angulation both ends and really moves out well on the go around, true when coming towards but could be better when going away. Jacket of good texture and very well presented.

OB (1)

1. Szulzycka’s Ursula De New Gryffindor. 4 yr old who appealed for type, presented a nicely balanced outline and has a delightful temperament. Strongly built all through, she carries nice bone but retains femininity. Strong, muscular neck, nice short back with firm topline, deep chest, ribbed well back, short muscular loin and tail good for set and carriage. Head of good proportions with slight rounding to skull, correct stop, good eye for shape, colour and set, nice small ears and scissor bite. Of sound construction and moved out freely with excellent firm rear. Good pigmentation. Best Bitch.

SBB (1)

1. Bell’s Maxmadadh Mila Mariposa. 6 mths old and very much a baby. She was a little overawed by the occasion and movement was difficult to fully assess and therefore would benefit from some more ring experience. Pleasing neck, firm topline but a little longer cast, good length to ribcage and pretty good tail carriage. Feminine head with nice dark eyes, small ears, distinct stop and scissor bite. Fair angles front and rear. Coat could use more texture. Best Special Beginners.
