WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE BORDER UNION 14

West Highland White Terriers

I thank the committee of Border Union for inviting me to judge.
I thoroughly enjoyed this appointment. Thankfully the weather was fine and we were able to judge outside in good sized rings as the indoor rings were small with long grass and uneven surface.

Minor Puppy Dog 2

1st Purchon, Lindenka Chesterman, smart cobby puppy, short coupled with good reach of neck into well placed shoulders. Good head, correct bite, tail on top. Moved well.

2nd Bradbury, Gelmoore Midwinter Magic. Nice head, correct bite, enjoying his day out.

Puppy Dog 3 (2)

1st Dale, Hopecharm Ed Turner at Lynnsto. Strong puppy, good head and expression, large teeth. Short coupled, deep ribs, good tailset, well muscled rear which he used to advantage on the move. Best Puppy.

Junior Dog 3

1st Bell, Pentangle Hello Oscar. Loved this youngster who pushed very hard for top honours. Very short back, good bone and substance. Good shoulder placement and front assembly. Very good head. Super coat texture. Short tail. Loved him he should have a bright future. RCC.

2nd Dale, Lynnsot Candyman. Very nice dog, larger type than 1. Nice head with good expression. Good bite. Not the coat texture of 1. Strong backend covered the ground well.

3rd Carlin and Gillott, Lizandycris Line Me Up.

Post Graduate Dog 5 (1)

1st Budge, Charedautum Dazzle. Smart dog with good shoulder placement and good reach of neck. Good head with pleasing expression. Correct bite moved well.

2md Pearson, Winoski Man Friday. Another very nice type. Short cobby dog who was a little unsettled on the move today. Strong head with typical wicked expression, good bite. Liked him a lot.

3rd McLoughlin, Ley Hey Latest Legend

Limit Dog 7 (1)

1st Thomson, Ashgate US Apollo. Very good moving dog with well muscled rear. He covered the ground with ease. In the final run off it was his movement which secured him the CC today. Good head properties, harsh white coat, good shoulder placement and reach of neck. Strong masculine dog.

2nd Jenkinson, Highcross Willie Be Charmed. Super head on this dog. The best head of the day. This dog has the sort of head that is lacking in the breed today. Correct bite with large white teeth. Strong masculine dog, who, in my opinion, could benefit from a little less weight to complete the picture. For me 1 scored in rear movement hence this dogs 2nd placing.

3rd Purchon, Lindenka Donovan

Open Dog 3 (2)

1st Storey, Storey, Nossimp Written in the Stars.Stood alone in this class but nevertheless a very worthy winner at this level. I have judged this dog before, the last time awarding him the RCC. He has a strong head, good reach of neck, with well placed shoulders, deep rib, harsh coat texture and good tailet. He is a smart dog who I would love to see go to the top. I strongly considered him in my group of the last three males considered for top honours but for me today he lost out on hind movement in the final go round with the other two as he did not cover the ground with the same ease as my CC and RCC winner.

Veteran Dog 2

Two lovely verterans who could easily change places.

1st Tullis, Drimsheugh True Grit ShCM. Strong dog with a super head and expression, good bite, short coupled, super coat texture and presentation.

2nd McLoughlin, Ley Hey Living Legend ShCM. Smaller type than 1. A credit to his owner, still in super show condition. Moved well covering the ground with ease. A very nice type.

Minor Puppy Bitch 5 (2)

1st Steemson, Bocans Red Velvet. 7 ? month old raw puppy. Excellent coat texture for one so young. Lovely head and expression. Good bite. Good reach of neck with very good shoulder placement. Well muscled rear, moved very well for her handler really covering the ground.

2nd Stock, Lindenka Treacle Toffee. Longer cast than the winner of this class. Not quite the tailset of the winner, but nonetheless a nice type with a good head and expression and correct bite.

Puppy Bitch 3

1st Wilson, Gairich Razzle Dazzle Em. And she did dazzle me I loved her. So well put together, lovely feminine head and expression, good bite, short coupled, tail on top. Moved very well holding her topline on the move. She does need to grow on to complete the picture and if she does, in my opinion, this is one for top honours.

2nd Davison, Braxquin Forget Me Not. Larger type than 1. Not quite as strong in head. Super coat and excellent presentation.

3rd Bartley, Atelib Moon Aura

Junior Bitch 3 (1)

1st Dale, Lynnsto Candy Crush. Very nice type, nice head and expression. Good bite with large teeth. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders. Excellent presentation as always from this kennel.

2nd Carlin & Gillott, Larger type than 1. A good head and expression. Strong bone, excellent coat texture. Moved very well. A very nice type. Close decision in this class.

Novice Bitch 1

1st Hunt, Kellethrigg Lucky Charm. Short coupled bitch, feminine head and expression, good bite, harsh coat texture, well presented. Level topline which she kept on the move. .

Post Graduate Bitch 9 (3)

1st Morton, Swifdon Stormy Days. I have really admired this bitch for some time. A lovely head and expression. Short coupled, good shoulders, short coupled, good straight front, perhaps carrying a little too much weight today. A little reluctant on the move today but putting enough in to win this class.

2nd Jenkinson Highcross Charmer. Very nice type. Another I have admired from the ringsode. Good harsh jacket, lovely head and expression. Very well presented. Moved and showed well.

3rd Stock, Lindenka Apple Charlotte

Limit Bitch 7

1st Owen, Egremont Seventh Heaven. What a lovely bitch to go over. So well balanced. Good reach of neck into well placed shouders, short coupled, short tail bang on top. Strong well muscled rear/ another, who in my opinion would benefit from a little less weight. She pushed hard for RCC.

2nd Hunt, Kellethrigg Serenada Girl. Another very nice type. Pleasing head and expression. Good harsh jacket. Good shoulder placement. Moves very well covering the ground with ease.

3rd Steemson, Bocans Playing With Fire

Open Bitch 7 (2)

1st Gaydon, Ch Bellevue Town Flirt at Gilbri. Super bitch so very difficult to say anything that has not already been said. She is so well balanced everything just as it should be. Very difficult to fault this bitch still in her prime. Wearing a super jacket presented to perfection. A picture standing and moving. CC and BOB

2nd Lehtonen & Hotanen, Int.Fin.Swe,Est Ch Who s Hot and Who s Cold. A super mover which such a well musceled rear which really propelled her around the ring. Short tail bang on top. At one with her handler. Just preferred the overall balance of the winner today. RCC.

I really feel I must mention the 3rd in this class. Morton, Brychdyn Carrie on Swifdon. So unlucky to meet these two today. A bitch I really admire. Super type. She is so deserving of her title I do hope she manages to achieve it.

Veteran Bitch 3 (1)

1st Gaydon, Ch Wistonant Royal Ruby at Gilbri. Such a lovely bitch who really want to please her young handler. Good shoulder placement, short back, strong backend moving around the ring with ease. Best Veteran.

2nd Smith, Lingbeck Leading Lady. Another nice type who shows so well. Good coat and presentation. A lovely bitch to go over.
