WEST HIGHLAND WHITE BLACKPOOL 19 Judge(s): MRS ZENA THORN-ANDREWS DCC FERNSUNRISE FAIRPLAY TO ASHGATE (MRS S M THOMSON) Vet (1) 1 Goodwin-Nolan’s Mac With Out A Doubt. Lovely head and super mouth and pigment, especially round his beautiful eyes. Coat harsh and in good, nick. He certainly has plenty of body and is long enough there to take it. 12 years old and likes to do his own thing moving. PD (1) 1 Bradbury’s Fourastay Fontayne Best Puppy. This really is a nice puppy, If he hadn’t mucked about moving and was playing his handler up I had no doubt he would have won the Res CC, but he had to settle for just B Puppy. I am sure we will hear of him in future. Smart 8 mth old, Pleasing head and strength of muzzle. OK in front, good quality bone and neat feet. Lengthy neck, perfect topline and tail set bang on erect. Needs a touch more rear angulation, but shows his pads going away without kicking up. Good stride in profile, needs practice. JD (1) 1 Smith’s Lingbeck The One And Only. Excellent size, and he has a good masculine head, eyes set well, and they are dark with good expression. Enough length to upper arm, but shoulder blades set too far up the neck, so withers are flat. Correct ribbing not too wide, neat quarters, sound and true moving. Well presented. PGD (2) 1 Bartley’s Atelib The General, heavy in body and likes his food! Likable head, and eyes, well pigmented. Ears a little low set and wide apart. Moved Ok and tail set on well. Level back but a bit on the long side maybe. 2 Goodwin-Nolan’s Mac With Out A Doubt LD (2) 1 Burns’ Burneze Wild At Heart. Res CC A good masculine terrier, sparky, full of life and interested in the proceedings. A wee bit too narrow in back skull. Good foreface. Ok in neck length and carriage. Rather out at elbow, but he doesn’t move too badly in front, keeps his topline and he has powerful quarters, and neat hocks. Tail set on is good and carried erect. Coat and presentation of the best. OD (2) 1 Thomson’s Fernsunrise Fairplay To Ashgate. CC Two good dogs, winner slightly shorter in back than second. He does move too wide coming towards, but he has super hindquarters and really powerful driving back movement. Strong, well rounded neck, good head and expression. His coat is rather in-between at present, but texture is hard. Good profile mover, holding his head well up on a loose lead, and keeping a level topline. Not yet down as a Champion, but this was his 5th CC I was informed. 2 Purchon’s Lindenka I’m Dexter. Slightly better front movement than above, but lacks rear angulation. Also has a lovely head and pigment. Deep enough in chest, well presented coat, and level in back. Moved out well in profile. PB (3) 1 Thomson’s Hillcloud Whirlwind With Ashgate. Poor topline and dips in the back. Very pleasing head neck and front, good angulation in rear, and tail set on well. If her topline strengthens she should make a nice bitch. Moved true. 2 West’s Tomlyndon Able Mabel. Low to ground and very tubby. Too straight behind, but Ok in front. Topline much firmer than winner. A difficult decision, but I felt that the winner has a chance to firm up her back, but the two below her are never going to get better rear angulation. I may be wrong and wish all three pups well in future. 3 Bradbury’s Fourastay Fedora JB (1) 1 Burns’ Burneze Maid To Order. CC BOB, Group 4 and Res best Junior in show A real star in the making and not surprised to hear she already had a CC before on the day. I thought her a super Westie right through. Loved her head, correct stop, neat ears. Eyes set perfectly, excellent conformation and angulation. Short level back with tail set right. Good bone and well up on tight feet Moved with some zest and drive and full of confidence and sparkle. PGB (5) 1 Bartley’s Kremenetski D’giulietta Di Verona Atelib JW Sh CM. Good head and expression. OK for neck length, fair front, topline dips and she needs more rear angulation. Moves true coming and going. Good hard coat too. 2 Chambers’ Spitgrove Bonnie To Circinus. Much bigger bitch, packed with muscle which I did admire, she obviously enjoys her exercise. Rather upright both ends, and a wee bit long in back. So powerful and impressive moving. LB (7) 1 Burns’ Burneze Follow My Lead. Neat bitch, feminine yet still quite strong and holds her outline well. Likable head and pigment, good broad jaws and muzzle of correct length. Her front is excellent to go over, well boned legs, short level back and tail set well up. OK in rear too, and she moved out with great gusto. 2 Smith’s Highcross Precious Charm To Lingbeck. Standing looked good, but she doesn’t hold her topline moving. Shoulders set too far up the neck, so withers flat. Short coupled, well presented coat of harsh texture, and she certainly shows well. 3 Purchon’s Lindenka Apple Krumble OB (3) 1 Burns’ Ch Burneze Our Marnie. Res CC. Smart and well put together, Short back but ribbing cuts up too sharply. Excellent front and correct amount of forechest. Pleasing head and ears. Good quarters and profile mover. Feet could be thicker, but no doubting she is a quality bitch, with great showmanship and style on the move. 2 Griffiths’ Ch Karamynd Guilded Lily. Shoulders set too far forward, well up her neck, so topline dips on the move. With legs set too far forward the body is not supported properly. Good size and she has a lovely head and eyes. Excellent pigment, well presented coat in first class nick. Good tail set too. Judge Zena Thorn Andrews |
