WEST HIGHLAND WHITE BELFAST 12 Judge(s): MRS I ROSE WEST HIGHLAND WHITE TERRIER I have to say how happy I was to return to Northern Ireland to judge the Belfast Dog Show Society. I must also thank the exhibitors for their support now that my medical problems of the last three years have been solved. The quality of the exhibits was amazing. Lastly, I must apologise for the behaviour of my steward, but I gave my full attention from Puppy Dog to Best of Breed. I still have my lunch ticket. PD(6, 1) 1 Squire's Kimgarwyn Defender. This 6 month old I could gladly have put in my suitcase. He was short coupled with a good reach of neck into well laid back shoulders, pigment excellent, strong boned, good tail set, moved with drive. 2 Purchon's Lindenka Donovan. Well constructed 11 month old, also strong pigmentation, tail bang on top, looked good on the move and held his topline, good textured coat, close decision. 3 Corri's Inverglen Lowe 'N' Behold. JD(2) 1 Jennings' Comdale Jonny Boy. Super textured coat, good reach of neck into well placed shoulders, tail bang on top, pigment good, excellent bone, drove around the ring as if he owned it. 2 Molony's Killynether Kolombo. A lot to like about this young dog with many of the attributes of first. Just felt he was carrying a little weight on the shoulders. PGD(1) 1 Corri's Inverglen Lord Of The Manor. Stood alone but well deserved his first. Good head, well placed shoulders leading into level topline, good tailset and moved round the ring with drive and purpose. LD(2) 1 Thomson's Ashgate McKenzie. Good shoulders into level topline, good rear angulation, coat of correct texture, good strong dog, liked him a lot, will I am sure make top honours soon. 2 McLoughlin's Ley Hey Living Legend. Well laid back shoulders, good ear set, good pigmentation, good coat texture, good tail set on. OD(5, 2) 1 Corri's Inverglen Banjo. Just my type of dog. Excellent head, good earset, good shoulders leading into level topline and tail bang on top, correct textured coat and excellent rear angulation, overall trimmed as a Westie should be for a good days work. CC, BOB and G4. 2 Edmondson's Ch Pebbaby Prank. Top class, beautiful dog, everything said for first applies to him. It was a personal decision for me on size. A time when we need two first cards. Res CC. PB(7, 1) 1 Lancaster's Clanestar Cloud Chaser. Good head, good pigmentation, good reach of neck into excellent shoulders, pleased my eye from the tip of her nose to her rear angulation. BP. 2 Mealing's Reifrandie's Muirne. Good head, mouth, good tailset and correct coat texture, good sized puppy, sorry she had to meet first. 3 Jennings' Comdale Charlie Girl. JB(5) 1 Jenkins' Markstown Tail Her Maid. Nice head, pigmentation great, a good size, good coat texture, trimmed and presented well. 2 Mallon's Colla Olympia. Really nice bitch of similar ilk to first, maybe not quite as good a head but everything else as applied to first. 3 Squire's Kimgarwyn Orchid. PGB(3, 1) 1 Edmondson's Pepabby Pirouette. Strong bitch with everything going for her. Coat, shoulders, pigment and darkest eye, tail bang on top, moves with purpose. Res CC. 2 Owen's Duncabury Designer Chic. Liked this little bitch a lot and the same applies to her as first, just lost on rear movement. LB(3) 1 Crockett's Havasu Has Em Talking. Strong looking bitch with good head, good layback into correct shoulders, excellent pigmentation, held line on the move. 2 Jennings' Comdale Starr. This was a very close decision. I loved both these bitches but first just had a bit more oomph today and moved a little better. 3 Chambers' Spring Of White Heather To Ashgate. OB(1) 1 Molony's Ch Killynether Krazy For You. Having seen the mother four years ago, the familiarity in this bitch was so strong with her 'here I am attitude'. Good head, nicely set ears, good pigmentation, good reach of neck into well laid back shoulders, short back, tail set fantastic and moved like a dream. CC. Iris Rose |
