Three Counties 22 Judge
|
STAFFORDSHIRE BULL THREE COUNTIES 22 Judge: Mr K C Tittley I would like to thank the committee members of the three counties championship dog show for inviting me to judge. I had a great day and would like to thank my stewards for all their help, with keeping everything in order so the day ran smoothly. I would also like to thank all exhibitors for bringing their dogs and giving me the pleasure of judging them. On a whole, dogs and bitches were very good, some with a few fitness and weight issues but I did not find any major faults. However, I personally think that overall, heads are getting bigger and muzzles smaller. The heads are more bully and i feel we are losing the blend of terrier and athleticism shape. Seems to be, that for the show ring this is the forward trend. I must admit, for me, I see this causing a lot of problems in our breed in the future with breathing and mouth issues. The staffordshire bull terrier, will not be fit for purpose (as stated in the breed standard) if this trend continues. This is my personal opinion but feel it must be said.
