STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE SOUTHERN COUNTIES 26

Firstly, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Southern Counties Canine Association for inviting me to judge at my first Championship Show appointment to award Challenge Certificates. It was a tremendous honour and privilege to be entrusted with this opportunity, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the day. My sincere thanks also go to my two wonderful ring stewards and friends, Claire Rogers and Kerry Daly, whose help and support throughout the day were invaluable. They did a fantastic job of ensuring the ring ran smoothly, making my first CC appointment an enjoyable and memorable experience. Although it was a very warm day, there was ample cover available to ensure the dogs could be kept out of the sun when in the ring. Overall, I found the quality of the exhibits to be good. I was pleased to see no dogs showing any signs of respiratory distress or breathing difficulties despite the warm conditions. I did, however, observe a few exhibits with dentition issues and some with tight nares, and these factors were taken into consideration when making my placings. I was delighted with my principal winners on the day. Congratulations to my Best of Breed, who went on to be shortlisted in the Terrier Group. He was also my Best Veteran in Breed and was awarded Veteran Group 1, before going on to achieve Reserve Best Veteran in Show the following day. A wonderful achievement and thoroughly deserved. Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who entered and accepted my decisions so graciously. It was a real pleasure to assess your dogs, and I wish you all the very best for the future. As always, it was wonderful to see the support shown ringside within our breed, with exhibitors congratulating one another on their successes. That sense of sportsmanship and camaraderie is what makes our breed so special, and I hope it continues for many years to come. Thank you. VD (1) 1 Ch Catstaff's Used to (Manito). Standard sized B/B dog, what can be said about this boy that has not already been said before, he is a dog I have watched for a number of years, he is a great example of the breed standard.
