STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE SOUTH WALES 16

Staffordshire Bull Terriers

I would like to thank all who entered their dogs/bitches under me. It has been a good few years since I last judged Staffords. So many new faces, & all the dogs were new to me.

This is my 11th time giving CC s in Staffords. The first time was at this show in 1990 so I am very honoured to be asked back to judge them here again.

There were some very nice Staffords on view & there were a few who will take top honours in the future. Sorry to say movement in some were not good in both sexes, so I will not be mentioning movement in my critique all mouths were good, & all the dogs were in gleaming condition.

I would like to thank all exhibitors for showing their dogs under me today, as most of the old exhibitors know I judge on the day, not what they done in the past or what they will do in the future also thank you to Tom Johnston for thinking so highly of my BOB by placing her second in the terrier group & last but not least two brilliant lady stewards Lesley & Elaine good stewards are a must for any judge so thank you both.

MPD

1 Dazmarnic Know Wot I Mean, red with white on chest, cracking head on this youngster, good eye colour, big teeth, straight front, great topline that he kept on the move & a good backend, one for the future I think;

2 Beckash Up N’Atem, b/br, another with a nice head for his age, very similar remarks as 1 but 1 was that little more positive, another very promising youngster;

3 Stormshot Take A Bow at Seastaff.

PD

1 Kylestaff Moonlight Shadow, b/br, stunning young man, strong head, dark eyes, strong underjaw, good bone, straight front, moved well. BPD, lost out for BP as he tends to want to stretch his back legs all time, a handful for his handler but a lovely dog;

2 Powerpack A Tisket A Tasket, b/br, taller than 1 & a little longer in back, but otherwise similar remarks as 1. I see litter brother to my BP;

3 Rougestaff The Lone Ranger.

JD

1 Maxsta Prince Of Celts, well I learned something again today, don’t judge a dog until you go over them, I have seen photos of this dog but he is a far better dog than his photos, he has a broad skull, stunning neat ears, dark eye, great mouth & teeth, gun barrel front with good bone, correct shoulders, short strong neck flowing into a straight topline, strong backend, enough bend of stifle, wow, I loved him. CC, his second, third can’t be far off, lost out to BOB to a special quality bitch;

2 Rossobull Diamond Geezer, red white on chest, unlucky to meet 1 today, similar in shape & size with a head to die for but he needs to lose some wrinkle on his muzzle, cracking bone & front, good topline, I loved him & would take him home as I would with 1, OMG my house would be full now;

3 Caymenstaff Life Of Riley.

YD

Three nice dogs.

1 C Life Of Riley,

3 in last class, brindle, well schooled dog, very strong, not the head of 1 & 2 in the junior class but nevertheless well deserved his placing in this class, good dark eyes, good bite, straight front, keeping his topline when moving;

2 Edgeworth Arturo, taller than 1, very fit dog, nice type head, correct mouth, dark eye, good front, these two will change placings on another day;

3 Taraiel Darth Vader.

PGD

1 Ginstean Man Of God at Cwn Hardd, b/br Standard size dog. Nice head, correct front, enough bone, strong neck, with a gleaming coat, so nice to see in A1 condition;

2 Kyraloebis The Bogus Man at Trelynbow, top size dog, one hell of a head, dark eyes, strong underjaw, another with a good front, handled very well, unlucky to meet 1 today;

3 Manark Guns Of Roses.

LD

1 Ginstean Black Bomber, b/br, I promise I love all colours as long as it is a good Stafford but today it seemed the best were all b/br. Very nice dog, neat head, clean lipped, dark eyes, I have to say the eye colour has improved since I judged last this dog, has a very good front, standing on good feet, enough bone, correct topline that kept when moving, liked him;

2 Geordiestaff Canny Laddie, b/br, stronger than 1, all remarks as 1 but in a bigger package. Handled well, will again change places on another day, when writing a critique I try not to repeat myself but as all judges find it is not easy so please forgive me when I do;

3 Carfury Bal Dhu.

OD

1 Elitebulls Heartbreaker for Regalbull, b/br, when I first put eyes on this dog I thought he looks small, well I was shocked going over him, he is deceiving, cracking head, darkest of eyes, correct mouth, neat ears, short strong neck, good front & bone, level topline, short coupled, strong backend well, deserved the RCC, I was told afterwards he just got made up, congratulations;

2 Ch Rubericla Black Starscream, stronger dog than 1, but well put together, another with a good head, neat ears etc, good boned dog with straight front with good feet, good strong backend that he used when moving, a very worthy champion;

3 Mitzstaff Fun To Flex.

VD

1 Kiamirose Bossin at Siriustaff, just over 8 year old, enjoying his day out, still got a good head & front, his topline was good when moving;

2 Fifa Blue, as you see by his name he is a blue with brindle running through his coat, not the dog as 1 & seemed he’d rather be in the house lazing about but very well handled.

GCD

1 Our Little Cracker, nice to see dogs in this class, a very friendly dog, he was enjoying his day out, nice type in head with good front & feet.

I did find the bitches higher quality today than the dogs but it’s swings & roundabouts; next year it could be the dogs are better.

MPB

Three promising babies.

1 Beckash Black Ice, 7 months old, cracking b/br baby, stunning head, darkest of eyes, great mouth, clean lipped, lovely front, short coupled & I have to say moved very good & handled well, loved her;

2 Tikkurilan Spot On, a mahogany br/w, very flashy bitch but I do think she needs more time to develop, I liked her a lot;

3 Rubericla Little Elita One.

PB

1 Powerpack Cherokee, stunning b/br, cracking young lady, stunning head shape. Darkest of eyes, neat ears, lovely body, coat was gleaming, correct topline that she kept when moving, handled so well, I see a very bright future for her. BP, I loved her;

2 Azyal’staff Lara Croft, very unlucky to meet 1 today, very similar in make & shape, very good bone & front. I do see these two fighting it out all through their classes in the future;

3 Zakstaff Winterfell. With bitches like these three about the breed will do well.

JB

1 Nizeva Va Nessa, this bitch is a live wire, she did not stop giving her handler a hard time but what a stunning bitch, a head to die for, dark eyes, great bite & big teeth, not a big bitch but got what it takes to get to the top house, she will do well, no hesitation in giving her the RCC, I see she is by a true champion who I first saw when he was a couple of days old & his becoming a top sire in the breed & seems to be doing the breed some good in what he is producing but it also takes a good bitch too;

2 Carandstaff Moondance, I see by the same sire as the 1, bigger than 1, with a stronger head but all the same applies. I see this bitch getting to the top as well, I loved her but lost out by not being as feminine as first two cracking bitches;

3 Belterstaff Ice Queen at Jodanzac.

YB

1 Ginstean My Girl Lollipop at Nikkylestaff, another by Cuz I Can, b/br, very nice bitch, not overdone in any way, feminine head, lovely dark eye & shape, great front, good bone, & neat feet, good backend, good bend of stifle, when she moved she powered down the ring, another who can go far, loved her too;

2 Kimstaff’s Lady Shivva, bigger than 1, another lovely bitch with good head shape, very unlucky to meet 1 today, good topline that kept straight on the move, powered down the ring.

PGB

1 Lackyle Oiche Eiri for Powerpack, b/br, biggish bitch, another with a nice head, ears, mouth. Would have liked to see her fitter but can’t have everything, level topline at all times;

2 Samtan Black Pearl at Taurinstaff, smaller than 1 but a nice bitch, in fitter condition than 1, neat in head, good bone, held her topline when moving;

3 Felkirkstaff at Starhaze.

LB

1 Starolestaff Lady Bea with Siriustaff, mahogany brindle Standard size bitch, quality head of good shape, straight front, good feet, strong short neck going into correct topline that she kept at all times, strong backend, good bend of stifles, hocks well let down, she was overweight but her quality outshone this;

2 Taraiel Lorde, b/br with white & ticking on feet. Nice type bitch, very nice bull & terrier head, correct bite, dark in eye, straight front narrower than 1, all though 1 was not as fit as this one for me, 1 had that bit more quality but this a good bitch as well;

3 Cwmcalon Mademoiselle.

OB

1 Ir/Dan/Norw/Nor/Sh Ch/Sw Ch Sandstaffs Inkberry Holly, well I could write about this bitch all day, oozes quality from nose to tail, b/br, stunning bull & terrier head, darkest of eyes, perfect mouth, rose ears, cleaned lipped, straight front, wide apart legs with good bone, neck muscular & short, close coupled with a very good topline, neat whipped tail, good muscular backend & the best mover of the day, I was honoured to give her her third CC & BOB making her a UK champion to add to all her other titles, also the icing on the cake taking second in the terrier group, this is my type of bitch, just loved her, congratulations to breeder & owner;

2 Ch Trawden Ice And Spice, well wait for it a r/w skewbald, another stunning bitch & worthy champion. Bigger than 1 but still feminine, a cracking head, clean lipped, strong neck, topline like a tabletop that she kept at all times & I have to say moved & handled like a dream;

3 Ch Taraiel Ciara, three very good bitches, quality always shines through, an honour to judge such good dogs.

VB

1 Ch Kewaunee Pocahontas for Powerpack, b/br, very worthy champion, still got the look at her age, head still good & her teeth & bite, correct front, pleasure to get my hands on her;

2 Rekrahstaff Miss Attitude cum Geordiestaff, similar make & shape as 1, enjoying the day out & she looking good for 9, thank you for bringing them.

GCB

1 Caramel Rose Princess, love her name, mahogany brindle, all Stafford, nice steady bitch to go over, good front topline, happy bitch on the move.
