STAFFORDSHIRE BULL SKC MAY 12 Judge(s) MRS S DOOTSON DCC SEENWORSTAFF STAND BY ME (MRS L ROLLIN) STAFFORDSHIRE BULL TERRIER First may I thank SKC for giving me this appointment and the exhibitors who sportingly brought out their dogs for me, and last but not least, I thank my two gentlemen stewards who were so friendly and helpful. The unseasonal weather had caused SKC major problems but they are to be congratulated on the way they managed to run an excellent show. I always prefer to judge outside, but this time I think we were all glad to be indoors in the good big ring which was provided. I was disappointed to see some weak pasterns and consequent flat feet and long nails. Dentition was good on the whole and there was only one dog with very light eyes. I awarded Best of Breed to the dog as I felt he best represented our breed in massive strength, or as our standard says strength for his size'. I very much enjoyed my task and although I know that only the winners are pleased, I hope you all felt it was a good day. MPD (3, 1) 1 Hart's Albermarbull Red Riot. Red and white, very smart confident puppy, right up on his toes, good square front, strong well boned legs, neat feet, level topline, nicely shaped head, good ear placement, dark eyes, neat mouth, tight lips, right size for his age. BP. 2 Creaney's Seabull Jolly Roger. Red and white, similar to first but I preferred the head of first, he was good on the move, kept his topline, neat all round, no weakness and no exaggerations. PD(4) 1 Butler's Torostaff Our Billy. 11 months b/brindle and white, at full height, good head shape, neat ears and mouth, strong muzzle, bodying up nicely, enough bone, good wide chest, straight legs, no weakness in pasterns, good tight feet and short nails, well pigmented. 2 Meek's Ladarna Sammy Boy. Black brindle, smaller than first but well balanced, finer bone, good muzze and dentition, tight lips, dark eyes, good square front, well padded feet, head coming on, just needs a bit more time. 3 Edgar &McGinily's Little Rocky Star. JD(4) 1 Nicholson's Rowansblac Luvley Jubbly For Ballindona. Smallish black brindle but well constructed and balanced, gleaming coat, nicely shaped head, neat scissor bite and tight lips, strong muzzle, good strong neck flowing into his shoulders and level topline, rib coming on, strong hindquarters, very promising. 2 Stanway's Waystaff Diggers Double. Red and white with black mask, taller than first, good neat teeth, well placed ears, nice dark eyes, cheeky expression, body coming on, right size and stage of development for his age. I expect he moves nicely when he is settled, but he was not very steady today, he had decided to mess about, but a very decent typey dog. 3 Henderson &Blair's Jolihem Wings Of Flame.
