STAFFORDSHIRE BULL MIDLAND COUNTIES 22 Judge: Brett Lay I would like to thank the committee for the opportunity to judge Staffordshire Bull Terriers at their show, everyone has been so welcoming and friendly. The show as always was run very well and a BIG thank you to my stewards on the day Andy and Sue Forman. I was very happy with my winners both the dog and bitch CC’s are great examples of the breed, I did not find any worrying changes in the breed as a hole since I last judged but muzzles continue to be a bit too short which is not good for the dogs but also it changes the typical expression they should have, fitness continues to be a slight issue. 1 Waltham’s Elitebull Mischief at Bellastaff. B/B Smart standard young dog stood four square, nice head shape for his age with a dark eye and good expression, body as I would like in one so young with a level topline and moved and handled well. 2 Lloyd-Williams Cwmhaf Celtic Quest. B/B Stronger in head than 1st but also dark in eye with a good expression, good bite and nice ear placement, slightly more leg than winner which I don’t mind but I just preferred the balance of 1st. 3 Badman and Sprague and Piggott’s Skystaff The Destroyer. 1 Stanway’s Waystaff Strike Action. R/W Pied Well proportioned head with lovely dark eye, good pigmentation and maturing well he stood four square, nice lift on leg but balanced overall, moved well. 2 Hindsley’s Earthquake Staffs Wear it Well at Tigerbull (imp Esp). Lovely smart dog short. in back with plenty of stifle good pigmentation with dark well placed eye, level topline and moved well just lost out to winner on maturity but could on another day swap places with winner. 3 Stevens Ronjac Rob Roy McGregor. 1 Stanway’s Waystaff Strikes Mayhem (ai). R/W pied with plenty of bone and enough leg to balance, good pigmentation and dark well plaed eye, head a bit stronger than I prefer but nice typical expression, good width to chest and drop of brisket level topline strong in hams with good bend to stifle, moved well. He stood out in the line up RCC well done. 2 Mayer’s Maynstaff’s Smooth Criminal. B/B Stood four square with level topline good width of chest and enough bone, dark eye and good ear carriage. Nice outline when viewed from side, moved well but lost out to winner as his muzzle is a bit to short for me but he is a smart dog. 3 Kirk’s Kirstaff The First Avenger. 1 Stevens and Pycroft’s Regabull Enzo. Smart standard dog in great condition nice outline when standing and on the move, good length to muzzle with correct bite, good spring to rib and tuck up at loins, a very well balanced dog throughout a credit to his owners moved and handled well. 2 Couzens and Coombes Natona Arlo Coombes.
