STAFFORDSHIRE BULL MIDLAND COUNTIES 18 Judge(s): ANDY DODSWORTH I was very pleased to be invited to judge their 50th Championship Show. Many thanks to those who entered their dogs for me to go over them - what a privilege. I must give a special thanks to my two stewards who were very professional and kept things moving along, which made it easy for me - well done and thanks. 1 Johnson's Ellchansha Hot Shot. Stood alone in his class, but I was still pleased to give him his first place. All black brindle, neat ears, dark eyes and correct set of teeth. Will not see a problem with his head shape as he matures. All things looking good when moving, coat also looking good. His handler worked well and got the best from him - looking good. 1 Funnell & Wiggins' Powerpack Kilgobnet. This young dog is really put together well. Black brindle with a white spot on his chest. Ears neat and correct dark eyes. Mouth was great, no problems there. Squarest of fronts, up on his toes an plenty of pad. Spring of rib coming, movement was pleasing and carried his tail correctly. Went Best PD and BPIB - one to keep an eye on for the future. 2 Gough's Manark Made To Measure. Red with white neck and chest with a black mask and flashes of white on his paws. Another whose head shape is coming. Ear carriage correct, nice to see a red with a good dark eye. Square jaw giving him a scissor bite which is correct. Body shape is coming on. Movement not as free flowing as first place - on another day could all change, but well done. 3 Thomas' Sunnystone Limited Edition. This class has some good dogs entered. 1 Johnson's Tillcarr Fire Coanda. Dark black brindle. All black brindle with a tiny white line going under chest. Ears neat and set well. Prominent stop, eyes dark and set correctly. Head coming on with cheek muscles. Teeth clean and correct, neck short and strong. Spring of rib also coming on. Sound moving dog, up on his feet with plenty of pad. 2 Rhodes & Pritchard's Taraiel Reaper At Teracotta. Black brindle with white mark on chest. This young fellow's head not as developed as first placed but, nevertheless, head was well balanced. Plenty of time for all this to change. Ears are neat, good stop, lips clean, all's well in the mouth. Front square with enough pads and enough spring of rib. Short neck going into tight shoulder making his movement sound. 3 Desmond's Elitebulls Challenger. 1 Woodward's Powerpack A Tisket A Tasket. Black brindle with tiny white spot on chest. This dog was in good coat. Head square and well balanced, eyes dark, correct scissor bite making overall a nice expression. Short, strong neck, bags of spring of rib, level topline with correct tail carriage. Firm backend which helped him achieve pleasing movement. 2 Preston's Tillcarr Fire Starter. Another black brindle with white patch on chest. Head was square with depth, neat ears, jaws square giving him a correct scissor bite. Shoulders with good angulation, kept his topline on the move, carried tail correctly. 3 Roper & Hook's Trawden Ice Cool. 1 Johnson's Luthais It's Hammer Time With Westbull. My CC winner. Yes, he is a top sized dog, but once you got over that and started to look at his make up, he really stood out for me. All black brindle with a strong, square head with depth, prominent stop, his cheek muscles well developed, strong under-jaw, clean, large, correct teeth. Square front with depth of brisket, well padded feet, slightly turned out. Tight and well laid shoulders, when viewed from above a good figure of eight. Firm backend with double thigh muscle, enough bend of stifle, movement was good, carried his tail as it should. Could not deny him his CC. 2 Rowe & South's Illori Akinlana JW ShCM. Black brindle with white dot under chin and white flashes on front feet. Different in make up to first but nevertheless, looking good. Ears correctly set, good stop and dark eyes. Muzzle to head well balanced, lips clean with good scissor bite. Straight front, up on his pasterns and enough spring of rib. Level topline which he kept when on the move which was pleasing to watch. 3 Murray & Fawkes' Antrelleda Squadron Leader. 1 Higham's Ch Callastaff Lakeland Lad. This dog is a real eyecatcher, in great coat condition. Not disappointed when going over him. All black brindle, head well balanced, neatest of ears, dark eyes, teeth were clean and well placed. Front square with enough bone, well padded feet, shoulders were tight and correct. Firm backend with enough bend of stifle. Correct tail position. Movement was effortless going and coming and kept his topline. No hesitation to award RCC. 2 McClelland's Ch Rochlawie Behold The Hour JW. Black brindle with white chest, not unlike first place in make up. Ears set well, prominent stop with dark eyes. All's well in the mouth. Expression was good, short neck going into well laid shoulders, good spring of rib, bend of stifle ok. Another one with correct tail shape, movement pleasing. 3 Stanway's Aus Ch Mosstrooper Kentucky Moon. 1 Fairhurst's Ch/Bel/Dut/Lux/Int Ch Fairlenium Snow Patrol JW ShCM Dut Vet Ch. I have always liked the make up of this dog. White with black markings (pied). He and his owners have been great ambassadors for our breed. Still looking good, head square with depth, teeth large, clean and correctly place. Front was square, strong and depth of brisket. Short neck leading into tight, well placed shoulders. Bags of spring of rib, nice bend of stifle, his movement was free flowing, still pleasing to watch and still kept his topline. Lovely to go over him again - went BVIB. 1 Yates & Major's Ellchansha Happy Ever After. Black brindle, white patch on chest. Head shape coming on, eyes dark, all looking good in the mouth. Feet well padded which is pleasing to see, everything coming along as it should for a young one. Movement coming along nicely. 2 Drummond's Ballindona Shooting Star For Fellknot. Much the same as first in make up. All's coming along as it should do. Could not see any major problems, she also moved well, nice to see her carrying her tail correctly. 3 Raynsford & Stevens' Raynstaff Dark And Stormy. 1 Molineux & Ford's Druidhawk Polly Toodle. Black brindle with white on chest. 10 months old, a very fetching, prominent pup. Well balanced from head to tail, ears neat and correct, fair stop, dark eyes, tight-lipped, teeth clean with correct scissor bite. Square front, up on her pasterns, feet slightly turned out, spring of rib coming. Her movement was effortless and free flowing for a young one. Also carried her tail correctly when she moved. Best PB. 2 Heron's Dilirystaff Mystic Star. Tiger brindle, good to see an old time colour. Another one coming along slowly. Ears a bit flighty at the moment, should settle as she matures. Good scissor bite, shoulder tight, level topline which she kept on the move. 3 Funnell's Powerpack Alura Finvarra. 1 Johnson's Tillcarr Baptism Of Fire JW. Black brindle with white mark on chest. Small class for junior but two nice bitches to go over. Ears looked a bit flighty but I am going to blame the handler holding the collar too high. Head coming on, eyes dark with enough stop, clean lipped, good scissor bite making a good expression. Square front, up on her pasterns, spring of rib with enough tuck up. Good mover keeping her topline. 2 Cooper's Fairleniums Hawkeye. Eyecatching all white. Well shaped head, neat ears and dark eyes. Her teeth were clean and correct, plenty spring of rib with tuck up, plenty of bend of stifle, movement was sound. Would have liked to see more pad on feet. 1 McCarthy's Lackyle Croi Lasartha. Black brindle in lovely coat condition. Head well balanced to muzzle, ears neat with prominent stop. Eyes dark and all correct in mouth. Strong neck going into nice tight shoulders. Enough spring of rib. Her movement going away and coming back to me was free and effortless. Another one holding her tail correctly. Dog and handler worked well together. 2 Rowe's Illori Believe In Me JW. Black brindle. This bitch pushed hard for a first place, on another day, all could change. Head all well balanced with good expression, clean lipped, scissor bite correct, square front, shoulders with good angulation. Plenty of spring of rib, nice tuck up, another good mover. 3 Waltham's Dringshaw Boule De Neige. 1 Fidoe's Nettleworth Nee Botha. All black brindle. Very striking clean lines, neatest of ears and set well. Good stop, eyes dark, perfect scissor bite, muzzle to head well balanced giving her a pleasing expression. Head to body is well balanced, coat in excellent condition. Her movement was pleasing to watch, a lovely little girl. 2 McDermott & Bernhardsson's Kings And Queens Over The Moon (Imp Swe).Another good looking all black brindle girl, also in good coat condition. Well balanced from head to tail, no problems in the mouth, all looking good. Darkest of eyes, shoulder tight and correct, spring of rib ok. Firm backend, another nice mover, quality very close to first place, two nice girls for the future. 3 Studley's Studstaff Patronus Charm. 1 Knight's Elitebull Enigma. This was my biggest class entry and not disappointed. Some good lookers. My first a black brindle with white mark on chest. Her head square with depth, ears neat and correct, eyes dark with a good stop. All well in the mouth, overall good expression. Front square with enough bone, short neck going into correct lay of shoulders, tuck up enough, firm backend with plenty of stifle. A great mover keeping her topline when on the move, carrying tail correctly. No hesitation giving her the CC and her movement on the day got her BOB. 2 Fleming & Martin's Loyalstaff The Star Of Edens. Same coat colour as first. Another good example of our breed, square head, neat ears, teeth large, clean and correct. Good depth of brisket, up on her pasterns with plenty of bone. When viewed from above, a figure of eight. Firm backend with enough bend of stifle making her a good mover. Dog and handler worked well together. 3 Funnell's Powerpack Cherokee JW. 1 Stanway's Stormfire Crack The Code At Waystaff JW (Imp Spn). Very striking, clean lined girl, mainly white with red patches. Lovely head shape and well balanced. Ears neat and correct, good stop, eyes dark. Square front with depth of brisket, would like to have seen more pad on feet. Short neck going into well laid shoulders, enough spring of rib with tuck up and strong backend. Tail correct with enough bend of stifle. Movement effortless, making it pleasing to watch - well deserved her RCC. 2 Southall's Beckash Black Ice JW. All balck brindle. Different in make up to first but nevertheless still had good qualities. Neatest of ears, firm stop, darkest of eyes, clean lipped with correct scissor bite giving her a very nice expression. Shoulders tight and correct, when viewed from above a good figure of eight with enough tuck up. Bend of stifle was correct, I have seen this girl's movement in the past and I know her movement is sound as a pound but today she did not seem her happy self. 3 Jackson's Jackabyte Moneypenny JW. |
